In yesterday's match, Shadab Khan was dropped in favor of Faheem Ashraf and Imad Waseem. While Faheem Ashraf was a debutant, I found it bizarre that Imad remained untouched and Shadab had to be axed. Though I always knew Imad is as mediocre as it gets, I just went to check his stats and look what I found.
Imad became a permanent in the team in England Tour of '16 and his performance with both bat and ball in that tour and the next tour of WI to UAE remained exceptional. However since then, starting from ODIs against Australia, his batting & bowling performance is as below:
Matches: 14
Runs: 120
Batting Avg: 17.14
S/R: 102.56
Wickets: 9
Bowling Avg: 53.11
Bowling S/R: 64.11
Economy: 4.97
And on top of that, at the risk of causing an uproar on PP, I am pretty certain that IMAD WASEEM IS A FUTURE TTF. Why?
1. He is mediocre to his core. Definition of bits & pieces player. (As like Hafeez)
2. He has too much fake swagger & attitude in him. Someone who feels all TV cameras are always on his face. (As like Shehzad)
3. He is lazy, lacks work ethic and too full of himself. (As like Umer Akmal)
The sooner we realize it, the better it would be for the team.
