The curious case of Usman Iqbal Wahla: Who is he?

Who is this guy? He is basically the chairman, head of the PCB’s cricketing directives and player’s management, with Mohsin Naqvi just signing off his decisions.

Why do we not know enough about this guy, but we are learning a lot about the data analyst guy who is also the minister of wildlife apparently.

Anyone shed some light on this bloke?

I only got to know he exists when he was talking to Amir in the executive box at Gadaffi Stadium post PSL, convincing him to return.

He seems far more powerful than what meets the eye!

Won't say much but fact is he knows the ins and outs of this organization. Seems to be a survivor but that could be because he knows which levers to pull.

I really don’t know a thing about Wahla. I only noticed him recently when he came into action with the inclusions of Imad, Amir and Usman Khan.

I only learn about PCB hierarchy through social media. I don’t live in Pakistan or watch ARY Digital all day.

Salman Naseer was with Ehsan Mani as well. He was in 2016-17 too. Not sure what was his position then. But in Mani's tenure Salman held the position of COO of PCB and since then for over 5 years now he has held onto that position.

Why guys like Salman Naseer and Usman Wahla aren't being ousted?

In a recent interview with Salman Butt, Wahab Riaz (the former member of selection committee) has made a revelation that he, captain and the team coach back in July unanimously gave permission to Usama Mir in writing to participate in The Hundred through an NOC but such an attempt was made unsuccessful by Usman Wahla for some reasons which Wahab Riaz didn't disclose.
