Think Imran Khan's tweets describe the difference and of course the leadership needs to be taken into account as well.

My msg to Pak cricket team today is the same I gave our team in the 1992 World Cup Final. First: enjoy the day as one rarely gets to play in a World Cup final & don't get overawed by it. Second: you will win if you are willing to take risks & can cash in on mistakes by opponents;
— Imran Khan (@ImranKhanPTI) November 13, 2022

The 1992 team under Imran was Pakistan best team ever. They were formidable and second to the West Indies. The current team is quite mediocre, their only success is wins against India and other top nations in some T20 games.

come on, now dont start bashing Babar or his team here for god sake.

They reached the finals, and that itself is an achievement. They out performed many major teams and are amongest the top 2.

So if we lose tonight, for gods sake, dont bash this team. Stand behind them and support them,

It was a fluke

The England of 2022 is way superior to the English team of 1992. Also that was an ODI, this is a T20

Sam Curran is the difference take his spell out and we are 126/5 after 16 overs add in any average Joe 4 overs and we get 161/6

But but but when Pakistan has momentum no one can stop them and England is our bogey team :)))

I never watched tthe 92 world cup. but the issue in this wc was that at MCG we never rotated strike properly, had we done it, 150+ was not an issue.

Anyways, we had a good run, a great one infact. Its ok to lose a final once in a while. We are good enough to reach more finals.

ya toh ball ko sand mein dip kar kar k bowling karo, ya dua karo eng players andhay ho jaien ya bollywood se 2-3 water tanks mangwa lo, ya bas 1 wkt hi lei lo...

Biggest difference so far is that Wasim Alram(Sam Curran) is playing for England today.

Well played eng lions...the best whiteball team in 2010s and continue to.. history rewritten and the devil of 1992 buried

Imrans message was right. But England didn't make any mistakes. Pakistan did. With the bat and ball. Mindless slogging and failing to even bat a 6po last 4 overs. Too many volleys and wides and in the powerplay.

More genuine match-winner s in 1992 team and better batting.Imagine Wasim,Inzy,Javed and Imran together!

249 back in the day was not really an easy total as you would think. 135 in T20 is pretty modest total. And also batting depth is excellent for England nowadays compared to yester years.

You find happiness when the nation is down? Seriously man?

Still crying over the Indian humiliation.

The difference was the Pak team of 92 once had a leader who lead from the front, both with bat, ball and as skipper.

Nothing for Babar to worry about, Imran Khan is the greatest cricket leader in history and the greatest all rounder in history.

but but but what happened to the best team of the planet india? the one you praise day and night… took some tome to come out of hiding when pak lost the final?

Leave him. He’s been proven wrong 20 times this tournament alone. First Pak would crash out in group stages and Pak fans are in fantasy land that NL will beat SA. Then SA will crush Pak. Then Eng Vs India finals aka his wet dream would come true but didn’t. Then switched narrative that ICC is now conspiring to help Pak to win. Then another stance switch to appease India that bilateral dominance means more than a tournament win here and there.

Plenty of emotional counter measures to offset what he’s truly feeling as a Pakistan fan- dread that his team lost, but he’s too afraid to admit it.

Pak team looked very nervous, Babar was more than most. Imran gave the team confidence , Babar and Saqlain didn't.

When Harris played dot balls , I knew he was about to throw his wicket. He is not a power hitter, uses bowler's pace and shot placement to score quick runs and hit boundaries. Babar from other end should have told him not to try hit Adil Rashid for six over long on/off.

1992 team quality wise was quite ahead. They were favourites before the world cup started and didn't play well in starting games.
