Pretty sure that's the last we have seen of Yuvi in an international game, so thanks for the memories, a true limited overs great, and thank you most of all for teaching a certain little girl some humility in 2007

Incredible player.

Won us 2 WC's.

Thank you Yuvi.

One of the best LOI players India has ever produced.

Simply a magical batsman when he gets going.

i wonder what he was thinking today....

no i am not bashing him.... i really want to know. how that brain, which handled so many pressure crunch situations, got frozen up?

Played one more last match winning knock before signing off.

Great player should be on the plane to Australia/NZ

Yup those six 6's of broad will always remain etched in the memory of many a fans and will always bring a smile to our faces whenever we remember yuvi :)

This may not be his last match. It was a colossal failure, but then he has done much for the country. If he can get back to form, he will play again. Isn't Misbah still playing after Mohali? Yuvi's innings isn't worse than Misbah's.

Salute to this guy he has won lot of matches and tournament for India
Shame on them who are making fun of him

Its been evident since his return from cancer that hes past it.

He turned up to this tournament in supreme physical shape, looking slimmer and fitter and I thought maybe he will perform

I wont lie I really dislike the Indian team but Yuvi and Dhoni are the two exceptions and Yuvi has clearly been past it.

Bar those 5 or 6 overs against the Aussies hes looked really poor in this tournament, especially against spin.

Its very unfortunate but I think his times up now.

Precisely. Indian fans forums making some really crass comments, calling him Yuseless.

Us pakistanis really do have big hearts ;)

Hes been a champion player for India and one or 2 bad games at the end of his career does not mean he deserves such stick.

I genuinely think the Lankans bowled superbly and maybe even kohli or dhoni would not have been able to get many runs of those 21 balls.

Comparing Yuvi and Misbah ? Misbah is in the team because he is also in form , people like Yuvraj are in the team for past 2-3 years only because of his contacts and friendship with the big bosses.

Its obvious really when the IPL franchises spent so big money on you , the board is under the obligation to field those players in the playing 11.

Cancer really ruined his career, but hes only 32 years of age and has created a huge legacy for himself.

Now he can move onto future endeavours he has a whole life ahead of him.

2011 should have been his last tournament. He was in poor form even before the 2011 WC. Of course no one knew of his terrible disease.
I don't blame Yuvraj .
I blame the selectors & Dhoni for refusing to see the obvious. He has been below average the whole of last year in ODI's

He can still make a comeback but he needs to improve his fitness .

Salute to this guy he has won lot of matches and tournament for India

Nope. It was the epitome of selfishness from him today.

Didn't even try to slog for a long time and get out.

People are writing him off too early because I feel, he will come back stronger and revisit his magical touch again.

He can play for another 2-3 years.

Actually reminds of the time when everyone wanted Sachin out after 2007 World Cup.

All the classless fans in the stadium and those who are bashing UV in this thread because we lost need to think of the years of service this great player did for India. He has won a lot of matches for India from the jaws of defeat and was instrumental in India winning the world cup in 2011 and t20 WC 2007. UV played with pain in the 2011 WC if not for him we wouldnt have beaten Aus in the QF. Show some respect you ungrateful fans. Sad to see him like this :( I hope he gets one last shot in Aus in the WC. I wouldnt want his carrer to end like this. I want him to get a shot at redemption in next years ODI WC. :59:

Yes, his time is up and also I think the illness has taken its toll not only physically but mentally as well. A great player he has been, won many matches but every good thing has come to an end.

Feeling sad for him, he simply froze during his innings, if he was in right mind, he would have walloped a few or got out early.

Was probably rushed into cricket post-cancer. Stellar LOI player. Sad way to sign off if this is indeed the end.

This wasnt a struggling innings as some apologists are trying to make out to look like a Messiah. He didnt even try to hit anything for most of his innings unlike say Dhoni also struggled but gavehis 100 % .

Yuvraj should have just hit out and got out. Anyway its just a T20 WC, nothing to worry.

but his poor performance was predictable . Just look at last year's performance in ODI's by Yuvi . he has been playing like this for a long time.
Earlier his running between the wkts was excellent , he has slowed down considerably in the last 3 years.

The selectors , Coach & Dhoni could have easily noticed this and selected batsmen who are in form.

Sad to see this Yuvi. I reckon he was recalled out of sympathy.

Given us some good memories as well. Wahab and Bilawal dismissing him will remain in my memory for a long time.

Yes quite sad because that was where they lost the game in end A fully in form yuvraj from a few years ago wouldve deposited some of those deliveries into the stands

Not entirely his fault because there were some good deliveries in there too but he has looked terribly out of touch for a long while now

Call for Misbah's heads were rampant at that time. So if Pakistan had dropped Misbah after that, they would have regretted.

Similarly, Yuvraj will be in the team if he picks up form. I don't think the cancer has finished him, it does take a long time to recover fully from cancer, and age is still on his side. Yuvraj had lots of ups and downs in his career - but he is usually a big match player.

Isn't Misbah still playing after Mohali? Yuvi's innings isn't worse than Misbah's.

Misbah plays for Pakistan and Yuvraj plays for India. Two batting units have a huge gulf in class. You can't seriously draw a parallel here. In Pakistani batting unit, it's a common sight to see such knocks.

He has not looked the same player after his cancer. Yah, 2-3 innings but that's too little to sustain his place in team like India. He was riding on his past glory to be honest. Nothing against him but it was clear that Yuvraj was not really been the same player after his cancer and management was simply hoping for a miracle here.

As soon as he came to bat, I wanted him to last till the end. That was due to the way he has been playing.

Thats right but I dont understand why he would want to do that ? Taking no runs and only singles sometimes and to be there till the end will only cost the team and it did in the end.

He is simply out of form and also lacking confidence. Ideal for him was to slog but I have seen Yuvraj taking 12-15 balls to settle even when he is in form. He depends on big hits during the end to make up but it was a horrible idea to bank on his big hits. Indians needed some one to come and not waste balls. Raina is better in that aspect.

He shouldn't have played in this event. He was playing due to his past glory. Wrong decision by Dhoni. He does back his players a lot but he went overboard backing Yuvraj here.

Love him for depositing poor little Stuart into the stands six times out of six, especially.

Same here. First time a test bowler was hit six times. Broad made it even more special :D

Credit goes to Flintoff for sledging Yuvraj. It was a classic.

so that we can lose that too? Agreed Yuvi has been a great player in loi's for us. Noone is debating that. Also, he's been instrumental in the world cup victories. But sometimes you have to face the truth. He's just not the same player after his treatment. He's trying , trying really hard but there's only so much a man can do. If he's planning a comeback, do it through the grrind of domestic cricket. Why aren't people showing so much support for gambhir when he's being rejected even after his domestic performances. He was the guy who showed up in the final. People are vouching for him out of pure sentiments. But there is sentiment and then there is professionalism. It just breaks my heart to see him like he was today. Saurav Ganguly also was a great captain and loved by the masses but he too tried to bite more than he can chew. Reasults are for all to see. Just sayin'.

One of the most entertaining match winners of the game. The man was a beast when he got going. It didnt matter who was bowling bcz when on song he would destroy all in his path. 2011 WC was the height of his career where he was literally destroying teams. To bad cancer took him down as he was amongts my favorite players.

Forget todays knock bcz his knocks in 2011 WC (without which india would have really struggled) make his legacy and his fame.

Will never forget the six sixes to barbie. He had no idea what happened to him. :yuvraj

Trust me this loss must hurt UV more than it does to you or me. Im sure he will up his efforts in the domestic this season to get into the team :rockybalboa. IMO UV should be in the squad. Im not saying he should be a guarantee for the playing XI. He should be in the mix considering how destructive he can be.

Dude Gambhir had a good finals but he is not even half the player UV is. And Gambhir was carried for 3 years since his last century. Ganguly hadnt contributed much with the bat since the 90s. Yet he played until 2008 because he was a great captain. Im not saying we need to carry him like we did Ganguly or Gambhir. We just need to calm down and see if there is anything to salvage in UV. Even if we cannot, it has to be the selectors who must do the necessary and tell UV what the deal is.

YUVE BEEN TANGOED RAINA

Believe me, nobody would be happier than me if yuvi can go back to his old self. And i am not even blaming him. The selectors are at fault. He should put a break on his t20 career for now. Focus on Odi's coz that's clearly the best format for him , get his touch back, consolidate and then choose what to do. In T20 ,you need to be in top form from the word go. Even if you are not, hitting from ball 1, your defensive strokes show that you are in good touch. Sadly for UV and his fans like me, the writing is on the wall. And it has been there for long. Really long.

Ps: just because gambhir was not as flashy as yuvi, doesnt mean he wasnt effective. He did play a major role in our batting line up.

People watch this!!!

I think making him play whole tournament even though he was out of form was a nice gesture by team management and dhoni . I think this is the end of YUVI, i hope he returns someday and play his natural game. good luck yuvraj singh !

He's got heart of a champion. Overcame cancer and resumed his career.

Just having a bad time. Forza UV!!

I dont think he is finished he will bounce back.

Feel so sorry for him :( . The way he fought his illness and came back strong was in itself a great feat but sadly I think that illness has taken a lot of his physical and mental energies.

Cricket is a funny game and a great leveller, one day you are adored and the other you are cursed.

Feeling very sorry for Yuvraj Singh. That's a very dejecting end to a legendary career.

A Phenomenal player

Fielder, Batsmen and handy Bowler. Got india 2 World Cups (T20 in my opinion counts as a world champion)
WC 2011 was unreal ! Averaged 90+ with bat and sub 25 with the bowl (I THINK)

Any "fan" who criticises his career after today should have in their cricket fan cards. Yes he played a poor innings in a final and should be criticised for that, however indian team as a whole didnt do well (Baring Kohli) in the final. Lost wickets wrong stages. MS stayed low in the innings didn't rotate strike to Kholi who was on form. And stritcly speaking as a neutral i always though India were vulnerable batting first, for the life of me i didn't understand why S.A. opted to bat first in the Semis.

But back to Yuvi OUTSTANDING limited over player would loved for him to have been born in Pakistan!

I think yuvi even though he was the reason for the Indians defeat he deserves a second chance.

Really feel bad for this guy.

I cant imagine what he would have felt like today after playing that innings. He should have felt really bad and it hurts because this guy is a fighter, and to see him not able to fight himself out of this is really bad!

He won us 2 WCs will never forget the WC'11, had he not played we would have surely not even got to the finals, so there is no way i can make fun of him or be annoyed.

Although today every dot he played felt like giving away the match to SL, i could only feel bad for him, and couldn't get angry (though i felt it might be better had he got out earlier).

True fighter... maybe its the end for him but will never be forgetten.

Great knock played by Yuvraj in the WC Final. He will definitely be remember by Indian fans for this memorable knock for years to come.

Really feel bad for this guy and I hope he will continue to play ODI after getting his form back. To me he is true fighter.

The end is nigh for poor Yuvi. The timing has gone completely - perhaps it's his reflexes or maybe it's his eyesight but his batting resembles that of a tail ender these days.

Rest in peace. I hate you for losing us the world cup final.

This is what I had been saying even before the WC t20 final.

People kept saying he would shut his critics up.

The signs were there for all to see.

Poor Mallya. Always messes up in IPL auctions.

Kohli the genius is to blame this time for backing Yuvi which made RCB go for him.

I thought this was a tribute video thread. But yeah Yuvi what a player he was. A big loss to International cricket.

Poor Mallya. Always messes up in IPL auctions..

Mallya must be breaking his head over such a bad investment with poor returns...lol

Saurabh Tiwari $1.6 million comes to mind.

Mallya is a genius.

Struggle to feel any sympathy for Mallya. He spends tens of millions of $s on his IPL team yet claims he doesn't have the funds to pay his Kingfisher Airline employees the wages which have been due to them for ages. The fatso should be in jail just like Mr Sahara is.

Kingfisher staff selling household items for living

Kingfisher paid salaries for July 2012 in April 2013 just before the last edition of the IPL to prevent employees from protesting at a stadium where Vijay Mallya’s team, Royal Challengers Bangalore, was playing.
Saurabh Sinha, TNN | Apr 20, 2014, 04.05AM IST
NEW DELHI: Neelmani Singh, 27, a Delhi-based employee of Kingfisher Airlines (KFA), is worried about how he will pay her younger sister's MCA course fees. The grounded airline has not paid salaries for almost two years now.

In Kolkata, Sujit Kumar Ghosh, 53, is scared of stepping out of home and getting confronted by his unpaid grocer, milkman and other daily needs suppliers. At home, an ailing wife needs immediate hospitalization but the former KFA ground support technician is finding it difficult to meet the medical expenses.

"Whatever could be sold, I've sold," he laments. For exactly an year now, employees of the airline promoted by the flamboyant Vijay Mallya have hardly heard anything about their dues.

The airline, grounded since October 2012, paid salaries for July 2012 in April 2013, just before the last edition of the IPL to prevent employees from protesting at a stadium where Mallya's team, Royal Challengers Bangalore, was playing.

Before that, the airline paid a month's salary dues in October 2012, to buy peace with employees and stop their protests at the F1 venue in Greater Noida. The airline also owes over Rs 7,000 crore to banks, who are trying to recover the loans given to KFA by selling assets pledged with them. Then, there are dues to the tax department.

"At my age (53), getting another job is not easy. All the savings are gone. All valuables have been sold off. My daughter is trying to complete her college education by giving tuitions. It seems, ending life is the only option for me wife and I," Ghosh said over the phone from Kolkata.

When contacted, KFA said it plans to pay salary. "We have applied to court for permission to pay salary," a KFA spokesman said. When asked how much will be paid and when, the spokesman said: "We do not comment on matters that are sub judice."

For employees, the wait continues.

You know what. As an Indian fan, I agree with you folks. Indian fans are the worst of the worst kind. You go to Indian forum, you would always find idiots mocking, making crass comments about youngsters, our heroes and legends. I have hardly seen such behavior from Pakistan fans.

Has been phenomenal for us in LOIs but should have never played till now considering his lack of fitness.

Mallya deserves every bit of what he is getting.
As they say karma is a *****

I think we should blame the whole team instead of pointing finger at him.

bowlers under pressure.

where was this yuvi in the final?

Great hitting skills, probably some cricket still left in him.

Regardless of what he does in the IPL, I don't want to see him represent India any format. Simply not good enough.

What an innings by him! That last six off Richardson was simply breathtaking
