The end of Herald magazine!

I am sure those of you who are interested in the literary scene in Pakistan will recall Herald very fondly. I am saddened to hear it is coming to an end - it provided a great outlet for real journalism especially during the early to mid 80s. A truly world class publication.

What are your favourite memories of this magazine and did others here also collect the issues? I remember once seeing stacks of Heralds at a meeting of progressive held in the late seventies in Sialkot.It was a great sight.

I didn’t know it was ending

Anyways I don’t know if the quality declined or it was always not that intellectual but as I grew older it seemed pretty simplistic to me. The writing didn’t seem great either

Did not know that it was ending. This sucks. I read The hearld articles in Dawn, so is there a chance that the journalist will work for them now, and we will get the same type of articles, but under the Dawn brand instead of the Herald?
