Season 2 was making a bit of a controversy on social media and so I went ahead and checked out the trailer to see what the fuss was about. As soon as I saw that LTTE was collaborating with the ISI for an attack against India in the trailer, I knew this was one of those 90s type Hollywood flicks where the aliens wage a war against Earth and USA saves the world.
The plot itself is fairly engrossing I have to say, but you shouldn't expect any sort of authenticity with regards to past or prevailing geopolitical scenarios while watching it. If you're a fan of action movies or TV series based on real political events and crises like Argo, Munich, Fauda, etc., this is not for you as there is heavy fiction in the plotlines. The entire series has fairly nationalistic undertones even if it's not presented in a bombastic manner and basically every season, the TASC force save India from outside or inside threats - islamic radicalism among malayali muslims in first season, terrorist threats from sri lankan tamils in second season and the third season seems to be Chinese causing trouble in the north east. The threats change with every season but the common recurring bad guy in the series is the rogue ISI officer - Major Sameer who keeps plotting sinister plans to attack India every season. So I wouldn't recommend the show to Pakistanis who are particularly patriotic
