1) Lost 2-1 to South Africa in 2016
2) Lost 3-1 to England in 2018
3) Won 2-1 against Australia in 2018
4) Lost 2-0 against New Zealand in 2020
5) Won 2-1 against Australia in 2021
6) Drew 2-2 against England in 2021-2022
For a team which has perhaps its greatest pace bowling attack in its entire history i.e. Bhumra, Shami, Siraj, Ishant Sharma and backed by its most aggressive greatest captain in history, barring the results in Australia, this is not a stellar record.
One can make a reasonable argument that the Aussies have gone soft because of Cricket Australia being dependent on a $300 million bail out being generated by the Indian tour of 2021, the number of Australian players playing in the IPL.
South African's in contrast properly peppered the Indians with bouncers as we saw Marcojansen go after Bhumra without worrying about any IPL contract. A very horrible, weak Sri Lankan team beat South Africa 2-0 in South Africa in 2019.
Not very impressive results above if you take out the Australia results
