You got to feel for Martin Guptill. He affected Dhoni's run out in the SF, his throw unfortunately hit the bat to give England those 4 overthrows and he got run out in the most decisive ball in the final, although he was out by a distance.

I'm surprised Martin jabbed the ball straight to Jason Roy at midwicket, knowing there was a huge gap between square leg and widish mid wicket. If he did that, they would have comfortably come back for two.

England also left that gap open where I would have put 5 players on the boundary on the leg side(the other one in front of square) and 4 in the circle on the off side. It was a gamble that paid off. They left a huge gap between deep square leg and widish mid wicket.

The gap was there for Martin Guptill, however he scuffed it by jabbing the ball straight to mid wicket.

Easy to analyze all of this now, but it was probably the most high pressure, nerve-wrecking delivery that has ever been bowled in cricket.

Full credit to Archer for not bowling a wide or for not messing up his run up and bowling a no-ball, to Guptill for putting bat on ball, for Roy to hold his nerve and collect the ball not only cleanly but to throw it to the correct end at the right speed and height, and then finally to Buttler for collecting the ball cleanly and getting the bails off.

It was an incredible display of strong nerves and full credit to everyone involved.

That is s very spot on post I must say
No one considers the nerves and pressure that's players went thru during that moment
