The defeat in Bridgetown was embarrassing.
Certain players obviously performed poorly - Babar Azam and Asad Shafiq have clear temperamental issues to address, while Shadab Khan's selection unbalanced the bowling attack.
But there are other issues that people of Pakistani origin seem to be too deferential to seniority to admit.
The senior players let the team down badly - in spite of Younis Khan's excellent catching and Misbah's 99.
It was obvious on Day 1 that the pitch would deteriorate and be hard to bat on on Day 5. As much as I admire the epic blocking of Boycott or FAF, this was a game in which the batsmen needed to keep the game moving forward, because on Day 5 the conditions would not allow more than around 40-50 overs of survival.
But Younis and Misbah set the wrong tone, as if this was a game that the team batting fourth could afford to slow down.
And Misbah has more to be held accountable for.
The West Indies bowled Pakistan out on Day 5 for 81 without the leg-spinner bowling a single ball. Even Jason Holder bowled 11.4 overs on the trot.
The decision to only field 2 quick bowlers in a Test in the West Indies was an outrage.
But Misbah's fields on Day 4, which let the West Indies convert 41-2 into 235-4, were even worse.
You would think that in Australia he learned that making Yasir Shah bowl to a leg-side field - often round-the-wicket - is a proven failure which must never happen again.
But he did it again.
The West Indies got out of jail on Day 4. Just like England did at Edgbaston, just like Australia did at Melbourne.
Let out of jail because a team with too few fast bowlers - yet again - overbowled leg-spinners with absurdly non-threatening fields.
I hope that Mickey Arthur survives this. He has clearly spent the last year letting Misbah do things his way, but that way has lost 7 of the last 8 Tests, including 2 to the West Indies.
Pakistan needs more aggressive leadership. Leadership - and team selection - which can accelerate with the bat and attack with the ball when the need arises. Leadership which can stop picking an extra batsman, given that even with that extra batsman they keep losing.
And it's time for courageous selection policies. The team already has far too many old players - even after Younis and Misbah go there will still be Azhar Ali, Asad Shafiq, Sarfraz Ahmed, Wahab Riaz and Yasir Shah the wrong side of thirty.
This is no time to recycle players the wrong side of thirty like Fawad Alam, Salman Butt, Mohammad Hafeez or Mohammad Asif.
Sarfraz Ahmed and Mickey Arthur need to be given a young team and the authority to play attacking cricket.
Because old age, too few quick bowlers and a defensive captain have caused 7 defeats in 8 Tests now.
