I can understand when someone speaks but I am not good at speaking myself. Same with Dari, my best friend since childhood is from Afghanistan we live side by side, they speak both Pashto and Dari (dad is pashtoon, mom tajik) so I can pretty much understand Dari aswell.

Disagree with you there P_P. Pashto is one of the hardest languages to master if you are not used to it since your childhood. You will learn it but your tongue can never master the dialect of the pure Pathan dialect. Thats why it is important for every Pukhtoon to teach his children first Pashto and then other languages.

I don't completly agree with you but I know what you mean. From Pakistan We have Khyal Mohammad, Sardar Ali Takkar, Haron Bacha, Rahim Bacha etc. The problem with them in Pakistan is that their music is being destroyed by ugly and unpashtun type af music videos. You know those with all the prostetutes. And the fact that they are now old except Rahim shah and they don't sing that frequently any more.

njamal : rora patha nistha i dont find it hard to teach people and when they do learn they are actualy ok at it! considering yeah you do have to know it from a young age but still...i know fluent punjabi speakers who went to khyber medical college and are fluent in the language now! so its not impossible...also the thought of my kids one day not knowing pukhto disturbs me so ill be making sure its the first thing they learn lol...dont want anybody calling my kids fake pukhtun
