"I saw the move after I heard the dialogue"

"I can assure you that I will not give any DHOKA to the Pakistan team"

"I hear the same dialogue off and on the field which is having a negative impact on my life"

I think poor guy mistunderstood the concept of the Dhoka liners; needs to watch the film, bless him. :))

Needs to take it in his stride and not be fazed by it. The dialogue has made him a household name. Don't take everything so seriously, buddy. :))

Wonder if he had anything to say to Virat after watching Anushka in the movie :)

Lmao what? the dialog was "sarfaraz dhonka Nahi dega" (along the lines of "sarfaraz wont betray") . so i'm not sure how this is a negative thing

How is it having negative impact shouldn't it be a positive one?

I think he came across it as "sarfraz dhoka day ga" otherwise there is no reason for such a response for him,

He probably thinks that the liners are aimed at him not giving "Dhoka" to the national team, when that's not the purpose of people when they say such things.

This WC will be remembered as Mauka mauka fame WC in SC.

Like it or not, Sarfraz will have to live with this tag. That is part of his popularity in WC as well. Inzi lived with Aloo comment which was very negative. He should take it as fun and pay no attention.

Wait what? This doesn't make any sense? Why would it have a negative impact on you? :))

Hilarious stuff really.

Did some movie had similar stuff about :afridi as well?

When I interviewed him recently I mentioned the Dhoka dialogue to him and he was genuinely concerned about it and wanted people to stop using it.

i dont get it.. why is he so concerned about it? i am having a hard time grasping his concerns.

I think he is afraid of people expecting too much from him. I still don't get what's so negative about that dialogue that's impacting his LIFE.

Hahahahaha :D well frankly this dialogue should haunt Waqar and every one who said he is not suitable for Australian pitches :D

So this is some dialogue from a Bollywood movie? How did it even get attached to Sarfaraz? I'm very confused. :danish

Imagine every person you meet asks you "Kya ap dhoka diengaye?"

I'd be pretty annoyed too.

Haven't watched the movie.

What's it about?

Plot summary:

Indian hindu girl (Anushka sharma coincidentally) falls in love with Pakistani Sarfaraz.

Her dad goes to some fake hindu babaji for advice and he says, 'sarfaraz dhoka dega.'

many years later.. an alien (Amir khan) reveals, 'sarfaraz dhoka nahi diya'

the 2 reconnect and live happily ever after :D

Ironic that you haven't watched it and I have haha. first indian movie I watched after 3-4 yrs. last one I watched was was 3 idiots I think.

anyways how can it be negative?

annoying maybe

I do not blame Sarfraz. I think for him that if people even consider that Sarfraz can give Dhoka to the team is bad enough irrespective if he did or not. I think he does not even want to be associated with the word Dhoka and Pak team in the same sentence. I do not fault him for it.

He's overreacting. If he is to be a future pak captain according to his fans, then this should be nothing for him, as he will have to face a lot worse.

Also, how is it insulting lol? It is a compliment if going by the context of the movie, Sarfaraz was the hero..

Maybe I'm not understanding, but how is it having a negative impact on his life? Saj, did he make it clear? I get it would be kind of annoying, but isn't it 1) a compliment and 2) not that big of a deal?

anything overblown is not good- when's its overblown to the extent that every person on the street, and every TV channel is blasting it out, I can see how it could have a negative impact

any self respecting athlete would want to be known by their performance, not by a line from a bollywood movie

he prob doesnt want to be associated with bollywood

This is what I think too. Bollywood isn't looked at in a good light by many Pak families.

I think you are missing the point. He is clearly talking about the meaning of the words here. But anytime is take a dig at Bollywood time I guess

Well this is the age of social media and the internet. You are going to get one-liners and memes. There is a reason twitter is so popular when it is all about one-liners. So if you are a super star in this age, you have to get used to the media and the internet. You cannot avoid that no matter what you want.

The dialogue on its own isn't offensive so my guess is as good as yours.

I genuinely thought it was satire
Just someone having a good laugh

I like bollywood maybe not so much recently but I grew up watching SRK Salman and amir . I am just guessing because sarfaraz is religious so he might not like to be associated with a bollywood dialogue no matter what the meaning

He's a religious dude having memorized Quran. Perhaps that's why the movie didn't go down well with him.

I know this is old ... but...Pls Sarfraz fix your problems

Skipper Sarfaraz reveals his biggest fear

Everyone has some kind of fear and Pakistan cricket skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed, who knows how to lead from the front and dominate the opposition with his aggressive style of captaincy, is no different.

Although Sarfaraz has never given the impression that he is afraid of anything on the field, it turns out that the wicket-keeper batsman is too afraid to watch horror movies. “I do not watch horror flicks,” admitted Sarfraz, while replying to a question regarding his biggest fear, reported local media.

While getting candid in the interview, the Quetta Gladiators captain also revealed that he loves to share dressing room with cricket legend and Gladiators mentor Sir Viv Richards, alongside, Pakistani greats including Shahid Afridi, Younis Khan and Misbah ul Haq.

Talking about his worst habit, Sarfaraz said that he can never control eating when there is something good on the table.

Sarfaraz is currently leading Quetta Gladiators at the Pakistan Super League third edition. The Pakistan national team captain will then be seen leading his side against the West Indies, which will be touring the country in April for three match T20I series.

This is the culture we need to change. Starting with the captain himself.

I remember watching that Kohli interview where he mentioned that he hasn't eaten daal chawal or something like that for the past almost 5 years. True sportsman.

I hope we can change this perspective, and head towards a healthy eating and true sports physique culture.

Agree with your view :19:

That explains fitness problem in Pak team, change must begin from leader first ..#Fitness #HealthyDiet

Pakistani sportsmen have this idea that as long as you train hard you can have whatever the hell you want to eat

Heard quite a few say this.... Bad approach

Even Ind players had same attitude towards fitness..Dhoni changed the culture ..Kohli taking it to next level.

Only captains can set the ball rolling ... Dhoni removed unfit seniors from team and always encouraged player fitness. Dhoni himself is still one of the fittest cricketers in the world !
