I have to admit - I really didnt know much about this guy but what he is doing for Multan Sultans tonight has opened my eyes!

England have another mega power-hitter!

He retweeted on his Twitter someone saying he's a good power hitter for an ipl replacement, looks like Multan and Flower have pulled another gem out of the bag when they needed it the most.

He was always more suited to shorter formats. English management were of the opinion back in 2015 was that with defensive openers failing, might as well give the aggressive one the chance.
I think Compton shouldn't really have been dropped but Root was considered more of an opener back then and they dropped Compton for Root. After sending Root back to the middle order, they instead went in with Carberry, Robson, Moeen and Lyth.

Lyth is a Michael Lumb sort of a player that Flower loves to have as an opener in t20is.
He is of the opinion for a full blown accelerator for the powerplay.
That's why Lumb was considered so important to their wt20 10 win despite the highest score of just 32.

Out for 50 (29) - excellent knock and given MS a good chance

PRESS RELEASE - 22 DECEMBER 2022

Lyth bowling action cleared

Adam Lyth’s suspension from bowling in competitive county cricket has been lifted after he passed an independent assessment at Loughborough University earlier this month.

The independent assessment confirmed that Lyth had remedied his bowling action within the prescribed 15 degrees of elbow extension threshold as defined in the ECB Regulations for the Review of Bowlers Reported with Suspect Bowling Actions.

Lyth had been suspended from bowling in competitive county cricket since 9 August 2022.
