I had this same issue last year. Never felt really happy for any team that won and felt very sad when anyone lost!

Problem is that all these guys are Pakistanis and lots of familiar faces who you dont want to see on the losing side.

How difficult or easy is for people to pick sides for the PSL?

I support the team which belongs to the city where I was born and grew up in. That being said I want all teams to do well, except for Lahore. LQ should lose all their matches.

I support the team which most represent my city hence Quetta Gladiators

Sir check who is the captain of Quetta. The future savior of Pakistan cricket :ibutt

Also T20 is just fun cricket, and Shehzad provides fun in these tournaments :yk

I support the players I like and who I feel can do well for Pakistan in the future. Couldn't care less about cities

same like you

very difficult to chose because of obvious reason you described but would love to see qalandars win

I always thought Islamabad and Peshawar had the strongest teams, however was supporting Karachi despite my dislike for a lot of the Karachi players since that is my hometown. Any how I am looking for good cricket and some good youngsters to come through which is my main interest in the tournament.

I never care about teams except when Pakistan or Brazil(Soccer) is playing... In Franchise sports, I always go for players...Right now there is hardly a Pakistani player that I like a whole lot, last year it was Amir, but he was barely OK and Karachi was terrible, even though my City won the championship, but it was not something special...I doubt I will ever get used to Franchise cricket as I did with national team, where we support Pakistan, even when we hate PCB and entire team :(

This year, my main interest is to see some serious young talent emerging from the PSL... I don't even know who is in which team, don't care frankly either, there are hardly any good players, Question is what young talent we are expecting from PSL 2??

I supported Quetta last edition. Low profile team that did very well. This time I am going with Quetta as well. For a specific match I will go with the team that has most players that I like.
I also want Lahore to do well. Felt really bad for them last time around because of how sad their owner got. I also like MaCcUllum. If only they did not have Akmal.

if u wanna see young talent then it must be karachi kings to watch for..

Supporting Lahore as was born there, my city, and all my inlaws, half of my grandparents from there.

you are way too patriotic man

Who is in Karachi??

I am looking for couple of 145 clicks bowlers, and couple of 150 SR batters, not much, two in each in entire PSL will glue me to the TV for two weeks, otherwise PSL is just another depressing outing for me :(

abdul hameed, abrar ahmad, usama mir..amad alam..but ur demands are verry high for our standard...better not to watch then..

Until PSL comes to Pakistan, and has home and away format, the fan base for local teams would not develop.
Its hard to support a team just because it has a name of your home town but never gets to play in the city nor can the public feel the charm of being the home side.

Same city same crowd doesn't really help the cause.

So another flop show?? - 200M population and we cannot produce 145 click bowler and 150 SR batsman, not even one

I'll be supporting Lahore. Can't help but like Zalmi though as they've been the most active franchise back home with their Foundation's initiatives of bringing the APS students over to a few games last year and now taking 20 cancer kids from Shaukat Khanum.

Hopefully Islamabad get wrecked. Can't bare to see a team full of oldies winning again. With Karachi and Quetta, I hope the younger, upcoming Pakistani players do well whilst rubbish like Anwar Ali, Shehzad and Manzoor get exposed because them doing well would mean an inevitable return to the Pakistan side and we all know how they fare at the highest level.

I couldn't watch it last year and it's unlikely that I will watch this season. Don't even know which player is representing which team, so no question of supporting one team. Except maybe if I find a match going down to the wire while switching channels. Can't connect with these T20 leagues.

!!!!!!!!!!!!! ???????????????????

Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal ..... all are English clubs; Real & Athelitico are clubs from same city, so is Milan/Inter, Juve/Turin, Roma/Lazio; Spurs/Chelsea.....

People will support Franchise for their favorite players, for their home town club - otherwise we'll have to agree that 5 Punjabi, 3 Sindhi, 2 Pashtun & 1 Balooch playing for Habib Bank against similar set of players of PIA at Islamabad where none of the 22 players were born or played club cricket - is better model. Everyone is Pakistani so few people on free entry, dogs, crows that attend PAK domestic will clap for Babar while he is batting & then same set will cheer for Amir when he gets him out.

Just want to see good cricket and young players stake a claim for the national team.

I hope PSL franchises can extend to our domestic cricket. It will create more rivalries and will allow fans to follow their team throughout the year.

Exactly, we should have these franchises plus four or five more who are in a lower league. Then we can have promotion and demotion between the different franchises after every season. Sort of like in the premier league.

The same franchise should also play the domestic List A and First Class matches minus the foreign players.

Last time I could not watch this tournament due to no television coverage in India..this time I will watch it through live streaming. Thanks to Ambani we r getting free 4G net . Regarding team I don't have very deep knowledge but one team which is being led by Mcculam also have Umar in it I will support that side. My relatives lives in Sialkot I don't know which city it represent I want to support that franchisee too. I'm hoping this time PSL may help to unearth some new gem to pal side like pak find Sharjeel in last PSL

You are referring to Lahore Qalandar, which is the worst side in the PSL. You are better off not following the tournament if you are going to support LQ. :afridi

maculum represent lahore which represent pujab and sialkoat is a city of punjab..

According to the tradition here in USA, every team has its own territory and by the same logic Sialkot is situated in Qalander 'country'.

Same, obviously I would back Karachi as my family is from there but even if they lose I wouldn't really care.

I pray that :gladiators wins it and :shezzy emerges as the top run scorer!!

Without a doubt, the advantage for PSL is many fold more than just teams winning and losing, last time without a doubt, the find of the tournament was Sharjeel Khan, and the blistering 100 he scored against Peshawar Zalmi (who was the outright favorites to win)..

To see a Pakistani, bat like that.. taking the wind out of Wahab Riaz, Shaun Tait and Mohammad Asghar was the most amazing thing about this tournament..

The growth Sharjeel has shown in a year is phenomenal, and was our best batsmen in the ODI series vs Australia

If adequate number of stars play in this tournament.. PSL can have a big impact on bridging the wide gap that exists International cricket and our domestic structure..

Another plus point was Sarfaraz's captaincy credentials when he took the underdogs Quetta to the final.. he might be the future captain in all 3 formats for us

I am hoping to see new faces emerge for Pakistan in the second edition

From the last PSL we found:

Sharjeel Khan
Khalid Latif (well we already knew him but he revived his career)
Muhammad Nawaz (wish we hadn't)
Muhammad Asghar (it is inexplicable why he hasn't made his debut yet)
Hassan Ali (a true gem)

Hopefully this year is also very productive. Actually these same players had been doing well in domestics as well but it took the PSL for our incompetent selectors to 'find' them.

The feeling is mutual :afridi

Na. Where misbah goes, there goes my support

Got a lot of criticism for supporting Islamabad United last time around, so I have rightfully decided to stay true to my roots and show loyalty to my city, so I will be supporting Peshawar Zalmi from now onwards. :afridi1

I'm not a Pakistani but I want Karachi Kings to lose. Karachi is the worst city on earth.
