I have a love hate relationship with the format.

For me the major negatives are:

> After playing the first round for almost 2 weeks, only one team doesn't qualify for the second round which is a bit crazy
> We only have 5 teams so a very limited number of younger players get a decent run in PSL

The pros for me are

> It's only 5 teams, which results in all the teams being very closely matched and you get to see some high class cricket, as we have done this season
> The chances of you getting a "dead-rubber" match are quite slim since there are such few teams and small margin for error. For instance, day before yesterday Lahore were sitting pretty on the number 2 spot & now they are struggling to qualify
> I do like the play off system & I like how every team plays each other twice which wouldnt be practical if you have too many teams since it would drag on.

What do you guys make of the format? Would you stick with this format or what more teams/franchises?

Pretty good except there should be 6 teams and not 5.

Last season Karachi made it after winning only 2 games, and this season, they made it after winning 3/8 games.

That should not be the case.

I think a sixth team is now due. There are players who haven't had a prominent role like Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Asghar and Shahzaib Hasan who'd benefit, as well as those outside the PSL like Kamran Ghulam and Saad Ali.

The format does need tweaking. I'd have six teams playing each other once in Sharjah and once in Dubai.

Then either have 2nd vs 3rd play each other in a virtual semi-final, or go straight to the final with the top two teams.

Top 4 should play 2 seni finals with winners playing in the final.

Forget the playoffs etc.

But then there's no incentive to come 1st and 2nd. I think the playoffs are important especially with 4 out of 5 teams qualifying.

Yea 5 teams never made sense but thankfully they are going to be adding a new team next season so that should balance things out just a bit

Should make it mandatory for each team to play two emerging players in the XI.

It's just not exciting and competitve with just 5 teams. We already know 4 teams will make it no matter how crap they play.

Different players same teams but still

same ranking on the points table....

will history repeat itself?
