As a Nooras are desperate to turn the tragedy of the Sahiwal ( probably will be mistaken identity) deaths into political event, let's look at how the 2 were dealt with. Firstly, a simple thing like the FIR during Model town took 60 days for the govt to allow it to be registered, in the Sahiwal case it took a day. The JIT in Model town took months to start work and the Judicial commission report was ordered to be released in 2017, 3 years after the massacre and that only after numerous court challenges, the JIT in Sahiwal has to report by Tomorrow.

During the Model Massacre Shobiz Sharif "denied any knowledge of the police operation and claimed complete ignorance of the bloodshed. His opponents ridiculed him for not knowing about the incident despite the live broadcast that covered the "bloody episode that continued for hours". (Wikipedia)
So Nooras let's discuss

PML-N denied the existence of the massacre. Some members of this government have tried to justify the murder by making out the victims as ISIS members. The point about FIR is valid though. So, brownie points to PTI. Thank you Imran Khan.

why are you falling for the literate trolls who criticize PTI for the sake of criticism.

Reform will take time and for it to happen, Pakistan will need a stable and sustainable economy, it is a huge factor for any country to have adequate police, education, and justice system.

IK can't bring about reform within 6-7 months in every entity of Pakistan, particularly in a country like Pakistan.

It may have denied the existence but it is fact.

Interesting reading.
ISLAMABAD: The brutal killing of four citizens in Sahiwal has once again proven the culture of police encounter continues under the new Punjab administration despite claims of reforms in police.

According to Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) data, as many as 3,345 people have been killed in police encounters from January 2014 to May 2018. The data further shows that 23 women and 12 minors have also been killed in these police encounters whereas 55 police officials have also been killed in these encounters.

Earlier, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in its press statement declared that they have killed four people who were member of terrorist organisation Daesh. However, several witnesses emerged later who belied police claims terming it a fake encounter.

After Naqeebullah Mehsud’s fake police encounter by SSP Malir Rao Anwar Ahmed on January 13, 2018, Khalil and his family’s encounter in Sahiwal has emerged as another high profile case of such nature.

The HRCP data reveals that total 2,117 police encounters have been reported in the Pakistan media from January 01, 2014 to May 11, 2018. As per the data, 6,610 male and 23 female and 12 minor victims were encountered by the police during this period out of which 3,345 people were killed. During these encounters, 173 accused were injured, 516 arrested and 2,602 accused escaped. Similarly, 10 passersby were killed and 53 were injured in these encounters.

The data further shows that 1,914 people of the total encounter victims had criminal record, including 818 were involved in dacoity, 66 in kidnapping, 233 in murder, 258 in robbery, 13 in smuggling and 32 in rape cases. Similarly, 206 people were facing the charges of militancy, and 27 were facing the charges of extortion.

Interestingly, Sindh is on top of the list in killing maximum people in police encounter from January 2014 to May 2018. During this period, the Sindh Police has killed 1,592 people in police encounter whereas 18 police officials have also died in these encounters. A total of 2,543 male and 11 females were encountered by the Sindh police in 944 different cases. The data further shows that 837 victims of police encounter had a criminal record out of which 122 were alleged militants, whereas 201 were facing the charges of dacoity, 36 kidnapping, 108 murder, and 16 were facing the charges of extortion. During these police encounters, 18 police officials also lost their lives and 14 injured.

Though Punjab’s number of police encounters were higher than Sindh, but the number of people killed in these encounters were less in Punjab province. As many as 1,556 victims were killed in 1,036 police encounters in the biggest province of the country. The Punjab police encountered 3,688 male and six females in 1,036 different cases. During these encounters 25 police officials were also killed and 14 injured. As per the HRCP data, 960 victims of these police encounters had a criminal record out of which 605 were facing the charges of dacoity, 25 kidnapping, 110 murder and 26 were facing the charges of rape. Similarly, 46 alleged militants were also killed in these encounters.

The number of police encounters in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan were very low as compared to Sindh and Punjab. The data reveals, 71 victims were killed in 54 different cases of police encounters from January 2014 to May 2018. During these encounters four police officials lost their lives and 14 were injured. The maximum number of people who were encountered by KP police were facing terrorism charges as 26 out of 50 who had criminal record were allegedly militants. The KP police encountered two females and 141 male in 54 different cases.

The HRCP data further shows that 57 victims were killed in 34 different police encounters whereas three police officials were also killed in these encounters. As per the data, 27 people had criminal record out of which 11 were militants. According to this data, 94 male, two females and one minor was encountered by police in 34 different cases whereas one passerby was also killed in these police encounters.

It is pertinent to mention here that these statistics are based on monitoring of newspapers and news reports from across the country. The actual incidents and figures of police encounters might be higher than these reported cases.

The News

The issue I have with PTM is that they take legitimate issues and use it to push a certain nationalistic agenda and a biased narrative based on ethnic lines. PTM and their supporters would have termed a similar incident as "Pashtun genocide by Punjabi army" had it happened in a remote area. This thinking inhibits me from supporting them whole heartedly.

Another thing I'd wish PTM to address would be is it not true that some tribal elders among the Wazir and Mehsud Pashtun tribe in the 2003 took in escaped foreign fighters from Afghanistan especially the Uzbeks and held firm ties with them. Even marrying their women and vice versa. Initially you could say the ill intentions of the Uzbek towards the Pakistani state wasn't obvious but especially after 2008/2009 it should have been obvious when their leader Tahir Yaldshev openly called for attacks against Pakistan.

Is it not true that before the 2014 operation the Uzbeks and other foreign fighters were roaming freely in the streets of Miranshah and Mir Ali. These same Uzbeks then went on to celebrate the massacre of APS Peshawar and criticized other extremist groups who were not on board.

To build some trust PTM should explain how these matters which were the root cause of all the trouble in FATA could have been addressed properly and what should be done with those who openly supported, harbored and married such people. They should explain why the Punjabi establishment didn't think about massacring the Pashtun tribes before the 2004.

Pakistani security forces arent innocent and have without a doubt committed crimes in FATA and have at times certainly paid little respect to local population. However if PTM and their supporters are going to spin the story where one side(Pashtun tribes men) are always the victims and the other side (evil "Punjabi" forces) always the aggressors then it is hard for me to pay them much attention.

IK's response has been incredibly disappointing.

What do you want him to do? Hang everyone concerned without proper investigation? An investigation is taking place and i think government has been crystal clear that action if any will be taken on the basis of JIT report. You can cry all you want if the government fails to disclose JIT findings and doesn't take any action on the basis of that

I just want him to do what he was saying before being elected. I am not crying rather the kids who lost their parents are. You tell your nonsense too them kids not me that the PM is holidaying in Qatar! These investigations in Pak never come to anything meaning nothing will happen. He'd be calling for Nawaz's head had he been PM so the same should apply to him as well.

Holiday in Qatar? He is there to negotiate a deal on the LPG because Shahid Haqqan Abbasi massively over paid. These visits take time to arrange. Anyways the JIT will report today.
