Dian Forrester doesn’t need many balls to make an impression. One clean strike is usually enough, you hear it more than anything else. That sharp, crisp sound off the bat, and suddenly the ball is disappearing, often into the stands, sometimes feeling like it’s gone even further, some of the sixes he has hit this PSL have been enormous.

He’s a proper power hitter. Not just someone who swings hard, but someone who connects cleanly and consistently. The frustrating part is how little we’ve actually seen of him in this season of the Pakistan Super League. The Pindiz haven’t really given him a run, and it shows. A player like that can’t influence games from the dugout, someone like that needs to be facing way more balls to make exceptional totals.

What stands out is how different he looks compared to the rest of the side. It’s been a fairly flat, predictable batting unit, and then Forrester walks in and suddenly there’s a bit of intent, a bit of edge. Even in short bursts, he’s looked like someone worth building around, which makes his lack of opportunities even harder to understand.

It’s early days, but the signs are obvious. South Africa keep producing these physically imposing, aggressive batters, and Forrester fits that mould. He just needs a proper run to show it.

Hope the Pindiz management are reading this thread, retain him next season, his star is going to grow brighter in the coming year.

Forrester’s batting style and approach is heretical compared to the mindset imposed by the captain and his chosen man managers.

They do not believe in this brand of cricket. To them, Dian is a ticking timebomb that can cause damage to them if he doesn’t pay off.

This is why I keep reiterating, a guy like Rizwan should be kept far, far away from Pakistan’s white ball set up.

Donnovon Ferreira and Dian Forrester might be SA's next big thing but I reckon they'd love to get a glimpse of some who could win'em those whiteball trophies too

I sometimes wish that Pakistan would also poach players like other nations but then who in their right mind will leave their country and play for us.
