'Cricket is Gentleman's Game' is probably the most popular cricketing quote of all times. But there were/are constant characters who always played this game in unsportsmanlike spirit . Behaviour of some players suggests game of cricket is not only made for gentlemen.
Presenting you the list of some infamous players who always played the game in bad ethics and were true villains of cricket.

WC Grace
Ricky Ponting
Steve Smith
Doug Jardine
Harold Larwood
Chappell Brothers
Andrew Symonds
Kumar Sangakkara

Umpires
Darrel Hair
Steve Bucknor

Warner is the flavor of the season when it comes to being a villian. Smith still finding sympathy from many.

Mohammad Asif.
Salman Butt.
Sharjeel Khan.

Amir would have made the list had he not revived his career. He's done pretty well fitting in since his return. If this was a movie, he was an ex villain, now transitioned to a hero.

You mentioned Douglas Jardine.

I dont think there is another player who would fit the definition of a villain better than him. The man was a villainous as they come.

Dennis Lillee is another.

Sangakkara was a proven cheat and a bad sledger. His tactics to deny Sehwag's century still hurts me.
Definitely not a gentleman.

Some of the fans and the ICC who want lesser teams to play. It is a joke that the sport has existed for more than a century and still has 10 teams playing competitively at the highest level. The fans who want Bangladesh and Zimbabwe to be stripped of test status would do well to look at their own sides' inability to perform outside their country.

He's 10x better than Tendulkar lol, who was explicilty caught tampering the ball. Don't badmouth others

Lol @ Sanga better than Sachin...Sachin never force junior bowler to deliberately bowl a no ball to avoid someone's century.
Sachin>>>>Sangaa

There is so much hate for Indian players.
Any Indian players found remotely guilty of match fixing never played the game again..
Whereas the Pakistani players are regarded as legends and others are still playing.
Sometime it's good to remove the hatred glasses.. The world is a beautiful place and we won't be here forever.
Peace

That's still better than being an actual cheater. Sanga didn't break any law.

I can't remember Sachin was ever charged for ball tempering issues???
But I can clearly remember Sanga was fined and warned by Srilankan board for denying Sehwag's century..

Harold Larwood was asked to bowl bodyline by Jardine. I doubt you can call him a villain. He was just a tool.
Any list of villains is incomplete without Mcgrath. The worst man to have ever played the game possibly.

You're scraping the bottom of the barrel for easy wins. It's sickening.

Why is POnting on that list? Yeah he whinged and moaned but so does KOhli, why isn't he on there?

Jardine did nothing that was against the rules of the game and played to win within the confines of legality. The same goes for Larwood. These are laughable choices lol

And why is Sanga on there?

It still baffles me how he used to be our frontline bowler. Such were our bowling standards.

He was also a pretty decent batsman, one of the few cricketers who both opened the batting and bowling for his country's Test side.

This is that match where him and Mongia sold off our team -

Sachin was so annoyed at both of them that day, he stopped speaking to them for a brief period.

The accusation that Prabhakar ever took money for any game is just slander. His was always a rebel, too much character to take money. No proof was ever provided to back up the slander. Someone who is a fixer would not have agreed to participate in an expose by Tehelka.
