What good can come out of this?

New Delhi: Over the past few weeks, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has undergone a number of administrative changes, with Najam Sethi taking over for Ramiz Raja as chairman. In December, Raja was fired from his position, and a 14-member managing committee was set up; Shahid Afridi was appointed as interim chief selector, and Haroon Rashid took over on the position permanently earlier this month.

Ramiz appeared on a number of Pakistani news channels after his abrupt departure from the PCB, where he criticized the new management and lamented his treatment following the sacking. In one interview, Ramiz went into detail about the decisions he made as PCB chairman and even said that he would have banned Wasim Akram from being mentioned in the Justice Qayyum match-fixing report.

"I think no one should have had the chance (of coming back to Pakistan cricket). If Wasim Akram's name is in there, and he was censured for not cooperating, right? It was a borderline case. If I was the decision maker at the time, I would've banned them forever," Ramiz Raja had said during an interview.

In an interview with Cricket Pakistan, Akram discussed the changes in PCB in detail, breaking his silence on Ramiz's departure. Akram responded with "Who?" as soon as Ramiz was mentioned in the interview and it appears that things are not going well between the two former cricketers.

"There was a change in the Pakistan board. You talked about Najam Sethi, Ramiz Raja was removed..." the interviewer said before Akram interrupted him.

"Who?" asked Akram.

"How would you rate Ramiz Raja as PCB chairman?" the reporter continued.

To this, Akram had a rather savage response and said "Look, I don't want to discuss this. Vo 6 din ke liye aaya tha, ab vo vaapis aa gaya hai apni jagah pe. (He came here for six days, now he's back to where he belongs)"

"Najam Sethi has experience, and it's no concept that only cricketers should be PCB chairman. You need to be a good administrator, and you need to be a good communicator and build a good repo with other boards. Najam Sethi sahab is the best in that. People can disagree for all I care. It's my opinion," he added.

Thing is Ramiz will also have a few things he knows about these cricketers which he can bring up.

Bro when two people have a fallout and start mud slinging publicly both wont come out of it well

Nothing good will come out of this but embarrassment for both and pakistan cricket

True. But Wasim is no longer the Savage he was in his playing days. He’s moved on. Ramiz was given a brief platform to be a senior figure of Pakistan cricket but he has just created too many unnecessary enemies

The list is so long.

I doubt there’s much more he can bring out about wasim after his book release. Unless he has hard evidence of matchfixing which I seriously doubt - if he did it would already be out.

The long list of enemies/unfriendly terms incurred by Ramiz Raja in a space of 12 months:

1. BCCI *
2. Wasim Khan
3. Misbah ul Haq (like who cares tbh)
4. Waqar Younis
5. Wasim Akram *
6. Aqib Javed
7. Shakeel Sheikh *
8. Najam Sethi *
9. Mohammad Amir
10. Wahab Riaz
11. Shoaib Malik
12. Kamran Akmal
13. Umar Akmal
14. PCB pitch curators
15. Media outlets+senior journalists *

The ones with the star * next to them are dangerous enemies to have in this business. Wasim Akram for example is the Zinadine Zidane of Pakistan cricket. He can sway opinion in your favour or against you in a very few words. That’s the power he holds

well akram did allegedly fix games.

Don’t give me this toilet paper

Give me undeniable facts. Which games did Akram fix and what did the ICC’s anti corruption unit do about it like they dealt with Cronje, Azharuddin, Saleem Malik and Salman Butt?

no player throws allegation just for the sake of it.

Although I dislike Imran the politician, but not a single player ever accuseed the guy of fixing games.

That Qayyum report isn't garbage, it gives a detailed version of each person who amde allegations against Akram.

Akram's father was even kidnapped, and he even admits he got phone calls from Dawood Ibrahim regarding fixing.

Wasim Akram is a legend, Ramiz Raja is better known as a commentator to many than as a player, that itself shows how mediocre he was.

Btw Azhar was never banned by the ICC, he was banned by the BCCI and later BCCI only uplifted the ban. Except Cronje saying he was introduced to a bookie by Azhar, I don't think there was any concrete evidence against Azhar either.

So what did the ICC do about it if this was undeniable proof that he was a fixer?

Moreover, what games and spots were fixed by Akram? Give me hard evidence, not heresay as you said in the Babar thread

I think this rivalry reignited itself after Wasim's not very flattering comments about Ramiz Raja in his autobiography.

Everyone kept harping about Ramiz having an MBA degree and he is well educated n all - but seriously, he was so badly exposed to have nothing more than an illiterate deyhaati during his short PCB chairman stint.

He was better off being a cringeworthy commentator and a low grade YouTuber.

He doesn’t look to have the class, demeanor, intelligence and mental maturity of a highly educated person.

I sometimes wonder how Pakistan cricket survived with all of these egos, rivalries and so much hate amongst the players.

Some of these players have more faces than a town hall clock.

Cricket crazy nation and 6-8 countries where cricket is played. Same politics in Hockey and look where it is now. Pakistan hockey doesn’t qualify for world cups and olympics now.
