The Press conference of PCB after the boycott saga

Views of Mohsin Naqvi shared in press conference today:

* "There was a crisis going on, you know."

* "I had a lot of objections. Just a little while ago, the first match referee called our team manager. He apologized to the captain and head coach and also said that such an incident did not happen."

* "We still believe that politics and cricket cannot go together. It's a sport, so let it be a sport. Cricket should be a product of all this."
* "The Prime Minister and other government officials were involved in this. There was support, and these two people came specifically to monitor things."

* "Allah has given respect to Pakistan. The community's hopes were met, and I hope that in the future we will focus on cricket over politics. We should be spending our time on cricket, not on this politics."

* "Now she will perform and show it. After that, I will tell the community to support them until the end of the tournament. If they have flaws, we will definitely address and remove them."

* "The PCB's position has always been that there should be no politics in sports. The winner and we should continue to play games in international tournaments."

* "This is a victory in the sense that a critical situation had developed. Emotions were running wild, and I'm glad that an emotional decision was not made in a way that would damage cricket."

Thoughts from Najam Sethi:

* "It was important because I always believe what I heard from Mohsin Sahib. It has also been said that whatever is yours now, you have to talk about the cricket team."

Insights from Ramiz Raja:

* "This cricket team has moved things forward. I want to know this story and how all the frustration and hurt emotions will be expressed on the field, showing everyone what a great cricketing nation we are."

* "The realization has come that cricket is cricket. This should remain a pivotal platform. If you go on like this, there will be no end."

* "This is a very blatant thing because I had this idea many times, but this seems like a very one-sided situation to me. This shouldn't happen because this is a neutral platform, which is why referees and match officials are brought in."

Out of the 535 men’s matches Andy Pycroft has officiated, 124 were for India with almost identical numbers for others: 107 for England and 102 for Pakistan.

So what exactly are you trying to prove? Atleast get the numbers right.

:klopp :kp

Raja babu has changed ever since his YouTube channel got blocked in Bharat. Reminds me of his time as PCB chairman.

Correct me if I’m wrong I though they were all enemies. Aren’t they all previous chairman who thought they got wrongly removed for the other? But maybe I guess events like this unite them.

They are all in it for themselves. No principles or morals.

The Three Stooges of Pakistan cricket.

Pycroft in that “apology meeting” pure Swag!!!

Apparently Pycroft reported Akthar

Akthar himself admitted that his short ball was an issue and he remodeled it. Seems to have no complaints.

Reporting Ajmal and Hafeez? Well if he didn’t report them that would have been the bigger problem. Also match referee doesn’t call out illegal bowling action, it’s based on the on -field umpires report.

It amazes me despite how passionate Pak cricket fans are, the arguments lack so much logic and not talking of the casual fan even the “experts”

I hope that during the commentary with Rameez, Indian Commies will ask him where do you get these figures from? Maybe from Pakistan fake propaganda factory.

Naqvi being flanked by the two geniuses who were responsible for making Pakistan a laughing stock (much like him) before him sums up the state Pakistan cricket is in.

One genius thought producing docile, flat surfaces would help beat Australia and England at home.

The other thought taking India to court over an MOU was somehow a good idea.

Pakistan trying to make Pycroft out to be this Blofeld-like Bond villain who has seemingly been behind all their misfortune over the years has to be one of the funniest things they have ever done.

Now they will unearth photos, "Pycroft was there in Hobart in 1999...He was there in Mohali in 2011 too."
🤣🤣🤣

Will this day go down in history as the biggest humiliation for any cricket team?

Threatening to boycott the game if Pycroft wasn’t removed…firing own team manager...locking players inside the hotel room… and then, after receiving a big fat L from the ICC, coming out to play like obedient children with the same Pycroft as match referee. To save some face, they even planted a fake news story about Pycroft’s “apology” with a video that conveniently had no audio. And now this press conference circus.

Honestly, what exactly did Pakistan achieve today with all this drama?

The whole cricket world is laughing its head off.

Deflect the public in case Pakistan crash out in the next round without making the finals? All this drama is to mask the horrible performance of the Pakistan team in the Asia cup so far. It is funny that everyone is so riled up with this handshake thing that they have forgotten how bad Pakistan batters have been in Asia cup so far.

If those stats are correct then that’s embarrassing

You got a point.

However, I do think there was an apology but it was only to give Pakistan something to claim as “victory”. They didn’t achieve much from this.

Also, I don’t think the whole cricket world cares about this at all. No one is laughing except for Indians which is expected

This press conference seemed quite hasty and the gentlemen looked very unprepared.

Naqvi even said that we didn’t know what the outcome was going to be till the last minute. Like WHAT?!?! Aren’t you directly responsible for the outcome?

Goes on to show our board is run by incompetent clueless idiots

Yup, feel the same way about Ashwin.
The spinner having the cleanest action in world cricket?

See this was always funny to me, if you went after harbhajan or some other bowler it would make more sense, but accusing the bowler with cleanest action has to be some kind of comedy.

Unless you are talking about the couple of matches he chucked deliberately to bring attention to the then chucking issue which everyone knew beforehand.

Some posts here are always hilarious

Cleanest action certificate given by you? Ashwin is a clear chucker beside being a champion of doctored pitches. Absolutely useless even with his chucking without them.
