Theory - Modi lost the Champions Trophy for India!

Evidentally this is the latest word on the 'Indian Front' i.e. Modi had bet a lot of money against India and that is why he had somehow ensured they lost (no real idea how or what caused that)?

This is according to a Muslim friend who is Indian. He had messaged me after the 2011 WC with ['HaHa' and smilies]. I didn't say anything in return because I was a bit disgraced by our team's lack of resolve and fighting ability!

After Pak win in the final a week ago, since it was on Father's day, everyone joked how it was a Father's Day authentication and that it proved who was the Dad and who was the 'Beta'. I didn't message my friend that day either till on Eid day, Sunday, someone shared an 'Eid Mubarak' card with me that also had the CT17 Final's score on it.

I laughed reading it and that gave me an idea to get back to the friend and I messaged him along with the Eid Card saying 'Just in case you didn't receive the Father's Day gift, Eid Mubarak to you'.

That is when he mentioned the supposed influence by Modi on the result and his huge betting LOL

He further said that when Indian players found out about it, they got mad and wanted to make a point of not playing. I asked how come this is all coming out now and if they wanted to lose due to a bet, wouldn't it be less suspicious to lose by a couple of wickets or a few runs and why by 180 runs?

I also asked that since we lost by 124 runs in the first game, going by the same logic was that result predetermined as well and should we start using the same excuse too?

At that point he said 'Have Fun', to which I replied 'We are having fun and been having it since 'Father's Day', have a happy Eid as well'.

He replied with three maaf ker do hand gestures and went away

Before the match one guy told me we cannot lose because it will be fixed because India can't afford to lose. After the match now he's convinced India fixed.

LOL, so unless the coin stands, either way it flips, it is a fix...even then a coin standing on it's own must be a fix as well

I saw a WhatsApp video of some not very smart Pakistani guy (didn't loook or sound very educated as well) who was telling all Pak fans who use social media that they are like sheep and go with the flow and that they are crazy to think Pak have downed this big Indian team so badly without any help from some shady sources blah blah blah...

Yet, he had no sources he could point to or share but was insistent that it was being done all to save King Nawaz Shareef's throne...go figure. I mean if corrupt chorr Nawaz wants to save his chair, why don't he spend very little out of pocket and energy and start doing something for the country, that is one sure way to become popular. Not by setting Cricket Victory in a game, a few days ago the same team was beaten quite soundly by the same opposition yet no one went and asked for his head, did they?

Badly Burnt rather than just Salty, me thinks...like I said earlier and you stated as well, don't like the thread, you can always skip it!

To be honest we have some very crazy Pak fans as well (not just Indians) who are still sulking despite this historic win because some of the players they didn't hold in high regards, performed exceptionally well and are now heroes back home re: Fakkhar, Amir, Hafeez, Azhar etc.

Such is the fickle nature of Pak fans, they are never happy, always find some reason to sulk be it the foreign coach, the salary of the physio, the way someone combs their hair, or the way someon has an accent when speaking English even though their resume lists them as a cricketer, not as a sophisticated and fluently English Speaking cricketer though!
