This was a test match full of resilience and sheer grit from both oppositions. Be it Babar or Cummins , Shafique or Lyon, Rizwan or swepson every player played their heart out. People cannot complain about a flat wicket even if this pitch was made out of cement it is nearly impossible to survive 2 full days against the worlds best bowling attack. This is a way better advertisement and longevity of test match cricket than those matches that end in 2 or 2.5 days on dust bowls. Well done to both Pakistan and Australia magnificent test match cricket.

I agree to a certain level.

We don't get too many draws anymore.

Results are great but sometimes these thrilling draws have their own unique flavor that the TEST format can only offer

This test only became good to watch due to our incompetent batting in 1st innings otherwise it should have been a dull draw on another ridiculous pitch

Agree it wasnt a great pitch Better than pindi but not a good cricket pitch

It only was exciting in the end due to pakistans own incompetence

An ideal pakistani pitch shouldve have more pace turn and bounce than this

+1

Both tests had poor pitches which makes it poor cricket.

The collective average of bowlers from both sides has been near 60 runs per wicket. Even in the last innings, we had zero wickets in the first test and 50 plus runs per wicket on the second test. It's just dead pitches and the match became interesting only due to the inept batting of Pakistan in one inning.

Not really. In an ideal world, the 5th day pitch should have started to behave in this manner from Day 2 onward with slowly deteriorating each day. Then you get a better contest between bat and ball.

I would rather have 2.5 day pitches that produce results than a highway road where one team has to play so poorly to not make it a dull draw.

No matter the pitch it takes monumental effort to bat out 2 days (almost) to save a test. So credit to Pak.

However, you're fooling yourself if you call this quality test cricket.

These matches are worst advertisement for test cricket. It reminds me of 2000-10 era when we used to have flat pitches, draws and teams hoping to win toss and win the game purely on scoreboard pressure.

Only those who don't understand the A B C of Test cricket which is the real cricket call OT borefest

It was Pakistan's poor first inning on a patta pitch which turned this match into a hard fought draw for no reason.
Had Pakistan batsmen played like this in 1st inning, everyone would've been rightly criticizing PCB for highway pitches.

Whole Pakistan should be thankful to batsmen for failing to score in first inning and saving nation from embarrassment.

May be the other perspective is it was Australia incisive bowling in 1st innings which bought a climax

The only thing I enjoyed about this Test match was when Starc was using reverse swing to the perfection. To take Pakistan batting to the cleaners. After that the Test match was boring. The wicket looked flat, quiet easy to bat on. It looked hard on the bowlers more than the batsmen. With the quality of players we have on display its very poor from the PCB to give us such wickets. After 24 years of not visiting us we give Australia these no result pitches. Not a great advertisement at all for Test cricket.
