Shivaji was a native of what forms Maharashtra today. He had nothing to do with punjab for example. So for that region he was an invading plunderer.
There was no concept of what forms modern India till the British made it artificially for administrative purposes during colonization.

Dubai, UAE, Qatar etc are independent regimes, however they are called Arabs for a reason and I am sure they have some internal conflicts among them too and back in the day there may have been warring tribes. However they are Arabs one culture.
In the USA a lot of Native Americans hate being classified and branched as one because some of the tribes have had a bloody history among themselves. However they are native to the land.

Shankaracharya in the early part of the AD, went all over the land to try to save Hindu religion which was declining due to influence of Buddhism. There was no violence, but he identified all the corners of this land and established a Shakti Peethas.There is one even in Kashmir even though he was from the South. He didn't travel to Malaysia or Indonesia even though they have Hindu roots did he?
The British did not just invent the word India in some lab did they? they named this East India company for a reason. British had other colonies in Asia, how come they did not call them a part of East India company did they? I wondwr why.
India's biggest epic, Mahabharata, key word being Bharat includes conflicts of various kingdoms extending from present day Southern regions to as far as Afghanistan. Gandhar also known as Kandahar now, the queen from there has a major role in the epic. Fiction or history is a different debate however all these regions are real and they were part of Mahabharata which translates to great Bharat.

It was AUrangazeb who had a expansionist mindset. Are you telling me Aurangazeb was a peace loving king, who didn't want to expand? was Sivaji's sole intention to destroy mosques, establish a Hindu caliphate or was he defending his own land and pride?
It is going to be very difficult for your to unlearn a lot of things, I understand.,. How about take advantage of this down time to this pandemic and read some history from neutral sources?
