Unfortunately yes.India have most resources and they are using their resources very well.

I think a time will come that India will become too big for the cricketing world and their dominance will hinder the viability of the sport

I doubt it Even at their very best which is now they cannot win tests in certain conditions and pitches ie south africa and aus

And whilst they have a gun batting lineup they will never dominate until their bowling is as good as their batting

I think India has been Test #1 for well over 2 years and the gap is only getting wider with time. The ODI team too has been top-2 quite consistently, so they have already dominated for a while.

Just waiting for dhoni to retire.. we'll get a clear picture then. People writing him off but India win most games due to his presence be it with batting or tactical input.

Nope. India is prone to a thrashing or two. Failed in four knockouts of the last four ICC tournaments. Unless the new standard is to reach the semis/finals and be happy

Talk about hyperbole.

Bowling is still medicore with the reserve pacers and even Bhuvi not being strike bowlers. Spinners have saved us so far but will not be long before teams become better prepared. We'll remain in top 2-3 across formats but dominant? No way.

They reached four knockouts. India in last 5 years have managed to reach knockouts of almost every ICC tournament. Thats shows you the consistency in performance. They also won the 2013 CT.

Add to that being the no.1 test team for last couple of years.

Reaching a ICC final or winning it once in a while is termed as upset or even fluke.

Well india will be consistently doing well.

Tells how little you know about whats happening in cricket these days.

Then you laugh at your own ignorance.

I know what Bumrah does. Keeps it tight and then gets some cheap wickets in the death overs when the batsmen are trying to hit out. When the stars align then he manages to pick up 1 wicket in the power play.

ATG bowler.

This post is exactly the reason India will never be a dominant team. India is relatively better than the other teams right now, but not dominant. Winning the final might be a fluke, but beating the living daylights out of the self-proclaimed 'dominant' team by 180 runs in a final is definitely not a fluke

Also, the no.1 test team in the world couldn't win the last Test series they played abroad. You have very low standards for a dominant team, don't expect everyone else to have the same standards

You know nothing about what bumrah does. You keep digging yourself in a hole.

You made a ignorant comment or one with your green tinted glasses one, a comment without any basis.

Laughable.

Indian pacers do not win India anything.

They are well stocked but don't seem as confident in their abilities or as tactically astute as other great teams atm

Vaughan is part of Indian team? Or is he Indian? "Self Proclaimed" how?

Australia could not dominate India in India in its dominating years, yet they dominated the game.

When a team ranked in lower half of a ten team ranking wins a match its called a fluke. Like Pakistan losing to BD or IrL in WCs.

Rather than talking about my standards look at the standards of your own team, 7th in tests, 5th in ODIs? Have some sense before talking about the standards of a team which is consistently in top 3.

I'm sure you have seen that thread 'Could India be as dominant as Australia of 2000s' and posted in it. Look at the amount of Indians who are already thinking on those lines, when their team isn't even half as good

And since you're so intent on bringing Pakistan into this, have some shame before talking to a fan of the team which actually has won important silverware in the past five years. The silverware won by smashing your 'dominant' lot by the second biggest margin in the history of ODI cricket finals. I guess India ain't even good enough to fluke even one knockout

Indian pacers do not win India anything.

Yet they manage to top ODI rankings or be the top wicket taker when India wins a ICC trophy.

2007 World T20 highest wicket taker for India RP Singh 12 wickets. Second highest in the tournament.

2011 world cup Zaheer Khan highest wicket taker.21 wkts

2013 CT Ishant Sharma 2nd highest wkt taker for India.

Even 1983 WC highest wicket taker of the tournament Roger Binny 18 wkts.

Ignorance Ignorance Ignorance. Or just green tinted glasses.

India can not be dominant like AUS with the bowling attack they have

nope they won't win overseas tests. I don't see them winning world cup either. They just don't have bowlers to win overseas tests.Their record is like 20 loses and 3-4 wins against top teams(overseas)

I am talking about this thread and what Vaughan said. He is not Indian.

I have enough shame to not be languishing at no.7 or no.5 in two rankings and talk trash about a team thats ranked in top 2.

India won the CT in 2013.

We are good enough to consistently reach knockouts not fluke one in 5 years. So we dont need to cling onto one statistic forever.

Vaughan said India could dominate all formats of cricket.

People on this thread are disputing that based on recent performances, where India has not won any ICC trophies or any major overseas Test series, which are the hallmarks of a dominant team such as the West Indies of the 80s or Australia of the 00s.

Where does Pakistan's ranking come into the picture? Is anyone saying that Pakistan is going to dominate all formats of cricket?

Yes they are capable of it no matter how much we don't like India they can dominate in all formats.

Yes he said India could and not India has dominated the game.So it will be seen in next couple of years.

Pakistan fans when they come up with posts like India gets thrashed and 180 runs etc will be shown the mirror.

Yes they are capable of it no matter how much we don't like India they can dominate in all formats.

We can. But for that we need honest selections and brave decisions.

If we select a failure like Raina who couldnt do much even in IPL then sorry we wont.

Same with Rohit Sharma in tests.

You were the one who brought Pakistan into it with the 'you reached how many knockouts' comment... so... yeah.

Michael Vaughan, like i have always said, is one of the worst analysts (not even worthy of this title) on cricket. He is always out of his depth and a total fraud. Indians or Pakistanis or any cricketing fans should not take his words on any scale.

Regarding what he said; i would just say "too soon". Huge dependence on top 3, an aging squad with at least three dead wood players, a mediocre bowling attack.

Sarfaraz has been on a downward spiral ever since he called him the best wicket-keeper batsman in the world :(

Nopes. Someone said India gets thrashing and doesnt win finals.

Well that isn't factually incorrect. But the CT final was not directly mentioned until you brought up Pakistan.

Anyway good to see the thread back on track, discussing the topic at hand rather than another India vs Pakistan whine-fest.

Aging?

How many in our test squad are above 30?

ODI squad has couple of over 30 players so do T20 squad.

Thats why i said we need honest selections.

Which other final in last 2-3 years have India lost?

Some posters will always come and incite trouble.

This generation of Indian team is supremely talented but has some of the most brainless management, selectors and shameless seniors.

Nepotism, pig-headedness and ego of these people will never let this team achieve it's full potential.

We need an honest management.

Till then, happy bashing in bilaterals.

Well, they lost in the SFs of the 2015 World Cup and the 2016 World T20.

Anyway, this team's legacy will depend on their performance in the upcoming ICC events and away Test series.

Don't know if "dominating" is the word, we think of WIs/Australia of the past, but it's the closest word for their regular performances nowadays, and they could be even better by kicking out some seniors for better new talents (exit Dhoni for Rishabh Pant or another wk-batsman from Jharkhand, Ishan Kishan, as an example).

Why are you bringing logic to this conversation? :shhh

Hafeez could be a really useful player in the middle order for India. Take him.

Vaughan has got nothing to do with that. Sarfraz is synonymous with garbage.

I was going to write praises for your last post but then noticed it was Abdullah719's post and not yours. This post disrespecting our national captain is just a proof of that. :azhar

This post is pure quality. Cannot believe the likes of Vaughan get away with saying rubbish on national television when their comments can be broken down by pure logic.

Like y'all never disrespected Misbah? Just giving you a taste of your own medicine, bud.

Misbah doesnt deserves respect or disrespect. Hes history. No need to be so vindictive. At the end of the day, these all are Pakistani players. :46:

Yes India won the CT 2013 (now that was a fluke), but has failed to not choke in the other knockouts they have played. Thats a fact. India has failed to not lose the first Test series they played overseas, since being ranked no.1. Thats a fact. India got demolished in the final of a major ICC tournament recently by a no.8 ranked team. Thats a fact. How is this team dominant, pray tell? If its just about the rankings, then I have already said India is a relatively better team than the others right now

Also, go look up what the term 'dominant' means and you'll realize you are barking up the wrong tree here

Lmao at all forms of cricket. India will carry on being a top LOI side as they have been since the Ganguly era but dont see them dominating Tests dont have the test standard world class pacers or bats to dominate test cricket in all conditions. Though on these dry english wickets it could be an Indian Summer for Team India.

Be a top team? - yes
Dominating for years?- Dont think so. You need a couple of great fast bowlers for that. India has good fast bowlers but none are that good.

It’s actually a very very strong team on paper. It’s no Australia of the 00’s but it’s the strongest team playing cricket today. No other team has as many match winners as we do. A full strength Indian XI is very impressive. I can’t think of any other team that’s as strong as this Indian team. You make such a comment by looking at the potential. This team has the potential to be a very dominant side and that’s what he said. I don’t understand why anyone would disagree with such a statement. And I can’t blame people for pointing out some of the hollow arguments being made here against it.

India has too many weakness' to be a dominant side. Will never happen. Harsh, but true

I don’t know what weakness you’re talking about. Bowling? We don’t have great pacers warming the bench but the primary set of pacers we have are good enough to get the job done in all conditions. We saw that in SA. Our spinners are doing a very fine job too. And to be the dominant side, you don’t have to be the Australia of the 00’s. You just have to be comfortably ahead of the others, which India is overall.

It’s not about becoming ‘a’ dominant side (because there’s no benchmark). It’s about becoming ‘the’ dominant side during a period of time.

India are a very strong team atm but not sure if they are an ATG tram yet.

Fully expect the Asians teams to dominate cricket in the next few decades though...

Vaughn is a bad analyst because he said a sentence good about India that India ''could'' dominate but Nasser Hussain says Pakistan can sneak a win... he is best analyst ever. 😎

Non-existent middle-order. Quite possibly the worst middle-order in the top 5 teams in LOI cricket. Decent bowling, nothing special. Not enough firepower to blow teams away

The benchmark are the West Indies of 70s/80s or Australia of 2000s. Being andhon mein kaana raaja is not being dominant. Just look at the way they meekly surrendered yesterday. You have got to be joking to call this team 'dominant' :))

will get battered by currant Pakistan team in all formats anytime anywhere, couple of world class players doesn’t mean world domination 🤦🏽*♂️

Don’t bother please.

Michael Holding, Nasser Hussain etc are best analysts but anyone who says something positive about India has to worst. Universal truth.

Also We have a word in India for some of our Pakistani friends- ‘Paltu’

Before CT, it was a useless tournament. Should have been scrapped asap(refer old threads). After CT, Its the best thing happened to mankind.

The thread was about Vaughn said something about Indian dominance. But some trolls had to bring CT final, 180 runs and biggest margin etc etc.

Fishing for an IPL contract :mv

He also knows how much Indians(not just Indians, all Desis) love these side discussions and stats...

In limited overs nobody cares about ranking, you win tournaments, everybody respects you, if you do that on consistent basis, then talk of dynasty starts...

In test, again everybody respect teams who performs away from home. India has yet to demonstrate that...Maybe he is trying to hype up the upcoming test series...Let's see what they do, track record is not good, first they have to change the history and win or even draw a full series in England before we talk about greatness ;-)

Some Pakistanis are being very insecure about India being called as Dominant Team! It doesn't matter whether you approve it or agree with it or not, India is the Dominanant Team in World Cricket and it is going to rule the Cricket in future too with it's utmost dominance, period!

They are not wrong though. "Dominant" word can only be associated with Pakistan because they have spent two months as #1 in a format no top team cares about.

YOu mean the Format in which they play their A Team against the Legendary Zim and Lankans? :yk

What do you mean by non existent middle order? We don’t have a talent issue. We have a form issue which is just temporary. Potential wise we’re still the best side. This will be a very dominant side once Raina regains his form and Rahul settles in, which is just a matter of time. Currently we’re winning matches even without them contributing much. Our top 4 + Raina + Pandya + Dhoni. If that’s not a strong side, which one is?! And it’s only going to get stronger.

Our bowling is more than decent. We’re playing the England series without our two main bowlers and haven’t been able to pick up early wickets. We don’t have great bench strength in bowling.

There’s no such benchmark. If you’re consistently better than other teams during a period of time, you’ll be considered as the dominant side during that period. Nobody is comparing this team with the Australia of the 00’s or the WI of the 80s.

Our top order failed yesterday and we lost the match. But did you watch the first ODI? How easily we chased down that target set by England. That was a dominant victory. Oh maybe you didn’t. IIRC, you had planned your free time in such a way that you get to watch the PSL and Pakistan’s matches only. But I sometimes wonder how you magically get this spare time to watch every match India loses :))

I disappeared? Lol. All that some posters like you have is CT 2017. You bring it and you will be shown the mirror.

India regularly reaches knockouts of ICC tournaments. And also won one. Thats not fluke.

Fluke is 7th ranked team which hadnt managed to reach knockouts on any consistent basis won the tournament.Like WI winning the CT in 2004. Aussies were knocked out by England.

WI lost the WC finals to India in 83. Didnot reach the finals of 87 WC but are still considered the dominant team of the 80s.

will get battered by currant Pakistan team in all formats anytime anywhere, couple of world class players doesn’t mean world domination 🤦🏽*♂️

We are not talking about WI C team or Zim or IRL or SL here. May be you should recheck the thread.

Have some shame before showing us the mirror :)) The CT thrashing is a major reason why India will never be a dominant team. You can brush it off like it never happened or call it a fluke and sleep like a baby, but the fact is your superstars got the beating of their lives that day. You think any Pakistani fan would respect you as a 'dominant' team when you lost by 180 runs to them in an all important final?

And I see you don't have a response to the fact that you lost the first Test series you played, since being ranked no.1

Ironically, your dominant team got battered yet again yesterday by England, while you were jumping around in your cheerleading suit in this thread. As I said, look up the meaning of the word 'dominant'. Also once again, have some shame before you post such nonsense. Even a tiny bit will help

What shame should the number 1 test team and number 2 ODI team have in showing the mirror to the 7th ranked test team and 5th ranked ODI team? It should be the other way around.

Again hanging onto the CT 2017. Did WI stopped being dominant despite losing to India in 1983 and not winning the WC in 1987? No.

Hiding behind one win. Thats all you got. Because you got nothing else? Even a minnow WI team doesnt cling onto ICC wins like this.

You think Indian team plays to earn respect of Pakistani fans? Lol the amount of delusion you have. India doesnot play Pakistan in a bilateral series. India doesnot allow Pak players in IPL. India has not allowed even Pak commentators and coaches in IPL for past two seasons. Thats how important "your" respect is.

Australia lost the test series to India in 2001 to Eng in 2005 again India in 2008.Yet they are the dominant team of 2000s.

The series is yet to be decided in England.Dont worry about it.
