"This India team could dominate all formats of cricket for many years" : Michael Vaughan

India are always going to be one of the best teams in the world but they aren't going to dominate world cricket like Australia did in the 2000s or the West Indies did before that. I can't see any team dominating cricket for a long time now, the schedule is so crammed these days so there's gonna be lots of ups and downs for every team.

As the caee these days, people becomes excited seeing limited overs form of a team. India needs to do well in test abroad just like SA did for few yrs. all comentators favour India to get IPL contracts

Let's see if India wins test series in Aus and SA with this 'dominant team'.

Lmao at all forms of cricket. India will carry on being a top LOI side as they have been since the Ganguly era but dont see them dominating Tests dont have the test standard world class pacers or bats to dominate test cricket in all conditions. Though on these dry english wickets it could be an Indian Summer for Team India.
Our test bowling is pretty good now.Look how they did in SA.

I know what Bumrah does. Keeps it tight and then gets some cheap wickets in the death overs when the batsmen are trying to hit out. When the stars align then he manages to pick up 1 wicket in the power play.

ATG bowler.

To reach no 1 ranking is not that easy as you say.If taking wicket in that manner is so easy why other pacers aren't doing it? Bowling tight in this era takes some skills and talents.Np wicket is cheap. One wicket is sometimes enough to change the scenario.

What shame should the number 1 test team and number 2 ODI team have in showing the mirror to the 7th ranked test team and 5th ranked ODI team? It should be the other way around.

Again hanging onto the CT 2017. Did WI stopped being dominant despite losing to India in 1983 and not winning the WC in 1987? No.

Hiding behind one win. Thats all you got. Because you got nothing else? Even a minnow WI team doesnt cling onto ICC wins like this.

You think Indian team plays to earn respect of Pakistani fans? Lol the amount of delusion you have. India doesnot play Pakistan in a bilateral series. India doesnot allow Pak players in IPL. India has not allowed even Pak commentators and coaches in IPL for past two seasons. Thats how important "your" respect is.

Australia lost the test series to India in 2001 to Eng in 2005 again India in 2008.Yet they are the dominant team of 2000s.

The series is yet to be decided in England.Dont worry about it.
Chacha Joshila that is one helluva an emotional post. Where did I say Indian cricket team plays to earn the respect of Pakistan fans? :)) But since Pakistan is one of the major cricketing nation's, and I don't speak for the neutrals, it's fair to point out why fans of one of the major cricketing nations not respect India as the 'dominant' team in world cricket. Is that easy enough to understand or you want to go on another frustrated rant?

Also, I ignored the Windies part in your earlier post deliberately. If you really even think this current Indian team is even fit to wipe the dirt off the shoes of the Windies 70s/80s or Aussies 2000s, then the delusions you accuse me of having are definitely catching up to you

Also, we'll hang on to this win for however long we want. A 180 runs thrashing of the self proclaimed dominant team in the world should be enough to rub salt into your wounds for a lifetime. Even if we hand you a humbling in every encounter from now on, the CT final will always be at the foremost of the list. Deal with it and stop crying

On another note, you keep ignoring the point about you losing your first overseas series in SENA since you became no.1. You bring up Windies and Aussie examples, but do tell what has India achieved with this team in SENA in recent history? Do you even have any wins or just a list of humiliating losses?

Kya Chadda saheb, lets think outside CT 2017, lets move forward together for better future.

Let me tell you something important here. Cricketagenda or joshila is only interested in stats after the CT 2017. According to him cricket reset itself after CT 2017. Any stat prior to that is irrelevant.

Arey
cricketindiafan posted 2 years stats. What happened there? Doesnt fit your lies?

A major cricketing nation India boycotts. So its understandable whats the reply from that side is.So you understand thst hardly anyone cares in India about PCB.

So you dont have a answer to why WI is considered the dominant team of 80s when they lost the 83 and 87 WC. They also lost the 1985 world series in Australia.

Self proclaimed? When did Indian team proclaimed itself as dominant?

Deal with what? Lol? We have beaten pakistan enough times in icc events including a WT20 final and a WC quarter and a semi. First break that streak rather than holding onto a win in a defunct tournament. I understand your frustrations since your team hardly reaches icc tournament knockouts. Hence the tendency to hold onto 1 win.

What did australia achieve in India in 2000s? 1 test series win vs an indian team that was missing some key player or the other in the series including Tendulkar?

Did Australia play a series in pakistan?

How many series did they win in SL?

Yet they were the dominant team.

Vaughn is a bad analyst because he said a sentence good about India that India ''could'' dominate but Nasser Hussain says Pakistan can sneak a win... he is best analyst ever. 😎

Don’t bother please.

Michael Holding, Nasser Hussain etc are best analysts but anyone who says something positive about India has to worst. Universal truth.

Also We have a word in India for some of our Pakistani friends- ‘Paltu’

Before CT, it was a useless tournament. Should have been scrapped asap(refer old threads). After CT, Its the best thing happened to mankind.

The thread was about Vaughn said something about Indian dominance. But some trolls had to bring CT final, 180 runs and biggest margin etc etc.

You guys really are severely insecure. My comment had nothing to do with Indians but Vaughan purely.

And i have called Vaughan a fraud before as well,

there you go:

http://www.pakpassion.net/ppforum/s...sponds-to-Michael-Vaughan-s-criticism-Post-53

"I have always considered Vaughan to be a total fraud of a pundit. Never take this guy seriously." on a thread about Vaughan talking about Stuart Broad.

Next time, please do some research than mouthing off and showing your insecurity on full display.

They beat India in India once.

They played SL in SL once with Sangakkara, Jayawardene, Jayasuriya, Vaas, Murali etc. Smashed them 3-0.

They played Pakistan in SL/UAE once and smashed them 3-0.

They won the World Cup and CT twice each.

Quite a solid resume.

Seeing from a distance, India is actually a powerhouse of cricket and as a Pakistani supporter, the fear of them dominating cricket is real.

However, before that can happen, these things need to change in Indian culture

1. Ruthlessness when it comes to selection. There are so many has-beens playing in the test and ODI team for India.

2. Introduction of young talent in the team. I don't understand what's the harm in getting young players a go. Get Pant, Samson, Gil, Shaw, Mavi, Nagarkoti and others a go and see what they are made of. If not the eleven, at least keep them in the squad. What's the point of playing Dhoni in a three match series against England - what can he learn etc. Raina is the same as well.

3. Get a couple of really good backup fast bowlers. The Kaul guy is bang on average, I thought he'd at least be speedy but he was bowling slower than Pandya and I'm hundred percent sure that Ishant would be faster than him. Surely India has some young faster bowlers who are just vying to perform and have hunger to represent India. You can't bank on Bumrah alone - fast bowling is an intensive job and injuries will happen considering the amount of cricket India play.

4. Get rid of the seniority culture. Kohli is immense in certain areas but this seniority thing has to stop.

The age group dominance of India shows that the next generation is comfortably better than anyone else in the world but when it comes to the main teams, the domination isn't translating. If India dominate cricket, it'd be terrible to be a Pakistani fan but it will probably help us get better as well. So I guess it's something to look forward to.

We are on the way to domination too :)

Just need to add to the Fakhar,
Babar, Hasan, Shadab, Amir, Faheem nucleus.

and ensure that no one spot fixes and if they do, at least they aren't dumb enough to get caught.

I'm still upset that we have a world-class modern player in the form of Sharjeel Khan who instead of playing for Pakistan in Zimbabwe is probably sitting at some dhaba in Multan doing justice with the fourth plate of biryani along with some sugary softdrink.

They haven't toured Pakistan since God knows how long. It's a pity but it is what it is.

Sure, that's not bad at all, though not quite on the same level as the Australian team.

Aren't we talking about the current Indian team in this thread though? And their present + future?

There's a big difference between sneaking a win in a tournament and dominating cricket for decades.

Let's see if India wins test series in Aus and SA with this 'dominant team'.

SA test series is over now.

This team won't be dominant 4 years later because Kohli and Rahane(if he is there) will be on last legs and others would be young enough playing their first tour to SA except maybe Rahul. Dont see Vijay, Dhawan or Pujara lasting that long either.

SA have exposed India's test batting tbh. At the moment, it looks like Kohli or none.

To all delusional people who keep referring to CT 2017, WI won champions trophy back in 2004.Upsets are part of sports.

Well, Aus is still left, but I don't think India has bowlers to win that series. Indian bowlers were more suitable for SA pitches.

They need to sort their middle order in LOIs and Openers in Tests, rest is good.
Pacers are becoming better day by day

Completely agree. Karthik, Raina, and Dhoni are just entering their peak years and will only get better with time.

Told you Vaughan is a fraud. :)

Well... Vaughan did say India COULD dominate cricket for years, not WILL :yk2

The guy clearly wants an IPL commentary, Coaching or Management gig.

On another note the Indian team should be thoroughly ashamed off themselves. This is perhaps one of their best eras as far as batting talent and bowling talent is concerned and yet they lost out on a golden opportunity to win a test series in South Africa and an ODI series in England.

He has already done ipl commentary.

We have won ODI series in England many times. So that is not a big miss. But losing a Test series in SA is.And they have a golden opportunity to beat in Australia in Australia this time.

A win or two and the likes of Vaughan go all gaga.

This is why I prefer the likes of Nasser Hussain and Michael Atherton.

I actually wanted to raise a petition regarding banning Vaughan's "pearls of wisdom" after his comments about Broad and then the Indian team. But i thought i will be going OTT, better to see the intelligence on full display than boycotting it.

India were largely hammered by an underpar SA so their test side has a long, long way to go.

They have just lost to England in the ODI series and apart from the first match, done so without much fight and a meek spirit.

No, they will not dominate anything for 10 years.

KL Rahul dropped. Karthik comes in. Raina continues to play. This is a joke.

Couldn't agree more. It is shocking to see Rahul getting dropped, while Raina continues to play. Rahul is the best Indian batsman after Kohli in my view. I rate him above Dhawan and Rohit.

Pandya is a waste of space, and now I'm thinking Ashwin is a better option than Chahal.

KL Rahul dropped. Karthik comes in. Raina continues to play. This is a joke.

There was a cool strategy behind it IMO. Dhoni had decided to retire from international cricket and hence India wanted the most likeable replacement Dinesh Karthik to play an ODI game in England before the WC 2019. So, someone needs to be replaced.

Raina was given just a final chance because Rahul will eventually get a permanent spot in the team. Also, Raina adds that left-right combination.
