Thoughts on Athar Ali Khan's commentary?

His fake excitement is the most annoying thing. I had to mute whenever he talked. He has been doing commentary for so long. But he just doesn't have any sense of when to sound excited when not to.

And he is still A LOT better than the absolute cringeworthy trio of Ravi Shastri, Manjrekar and Bhogle.

Well, not many will agree with you on this.

Ravi Shastri has one of the best voices of all time. He was there working for Sky Sports this summer and outclassed all including Nasser & Artherton during the hundreds tournament. Thats why SKY gave him the main programs like doing toss in the finals, match presentation etc. His voice is iconic in cricket.

Harsha Bhogle is a trained radio commentator who started doing cricket in Australian radio back in early 90s. An Indian accent presenting cricket in radio was unheard off in Australia on those days.

Are you seriously telling me that Athar Ali Khan is better than them? Lol.

Sanju Manju is very poor though but still is better than Athar Ali.

“I think for youngsters watching Babar Azam bat, it is a treat. It is very special. They’ll be glued to their TV just to watch him bat. He is one of the finest in the world. Such a great addition to the Rangpur Riders,” Athar Ali Khan on BPL...

Athar Ali Khan's ancestors were from Uttar Pradesh of India.

Saw this on Wikipedia.

Interesting.

Giving this fool a chance to gloat is the most embarrassing moment ever for Pakistan cricket. Every single person employed by the PCB need to be forced to listen to his final commentary stint on repeat until they get their act together.

This guy has been through so much pain.

20 or so years of beatings.

Let him have his moment. Congrats to him and all Bangladeshis.

Athar Ali Khan is alongside Ramiz Raja, Russel Arnold, Ranjit Fernando and Sivaraanamakiraishan.

They make my ears bleed. It's not just the content but the tone and the voice itself.

Athar Ali Khan is already confident that Bangladesh might win the 1st Test against Pakistan.
And he wasn't wrong as the 117 lead was the tip of the iceberg and then he's seen many Pak collapses over 20 years to have made that comment and see where they are now.

A very excited Ather enjoying the limelight that a Bangladesh victory has got for him and his team.
