The video of the incident is despicable. The female is groped, carried and passed on to others in the mob for assault. Her clothes are torn too!

Probably the most disgusting video that I've come across on social media. A hundred men molesting a helpless woman.

People took my criticism of Imran's views on reasons for sexual offences as a slight on Imran and because I'm an Indian. This is not an India Pakistan thing. You need to have progressive views on these things if the subcontinent is to come out of patriarchy and rampant sexual offences against women. Can't help much if we engage in victim blaming or provide excuses for these men who involved in the horrendous act.

No what you need is a harsh punishment. Saying all the politically correct things wont work. You need to make an example out of them. Put the fear of god in them. That is the language these people will understand.

Imran's views are pretty clear on this.

1. It's never the victim's fault.
2. Pakistani society as a whole has deteriorated morally and sexual crimes have increased.
3. The concept of "Pardah" is both for men and women
4. Society needs to be taught better values from a young age so it produces better humans
5. There should be rapid punishment, sex offender registries, victim protection, and legal cover in the system

Point me out where the flaw is in this discourse so we can have an educated debate.

Imran Khan's Pakistan..

Didnt he once said that the blame is on women for their clothes, men will be tempted... If our PM has this kind of thinking than what to expect.

I don't know.. What was the point of talking about fahashi or vulgarity in one of the most conservative countries in the world?

Blaming the likes of Hollywood and Bollywood for rapes in Pakistan and vulgarity causing rapes seems like a bad excuse. What does he mean when he says vulgarity anyway? I don't think we can come to a conclusion unless we know what he really means by the term "vulgarity" or "fahashi"..

We are losing our morals. Such public harassment of a woman by so many men was unthinkable a decade ago. Don't know what has happened to our men. Such a sad incident and that too on independence day.

LAHORE: Punjab government spokesman Fayyazul Hassan Chohan Wednesday condemned the Minar-e-Pakistan incident where a woman was assaulted by a mob and said the culprits are being identified through video footage.

“The incident of assault on a woman in Greater Iqbal Park is a shameful act which has brought shame to the society,” Fayyaz Chohan said in a statement today.

He said that the accused involved in the video are being identified and will be brought to justice.

The incident came to light after a video went viral on social media, showing hundreds of men attacking a woman as she went to the park with four of her friends to celebrate Independence Day.

The police registered a case against 400 men for assaulting the woman who was making TikTok videos at the park.

Incident ‘speaks to a rot in our society’

Meanwhile, PPP Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto has slammed the incident and asked the government to bring those responsible to the book.

“The assault of a young woman by a mob at #minarepakistan should shame every Pakistani. It speaks to a rot in our society,” the PPP leader said.

He said that those responsible must be brought to justice.

“The women of Pakistan feel insecure and it is all our responsibility to ensure safety and equal rights to all,” he added.

‘Taking this case as a challenge’

While talking to Geo Pakistan, DIG Investigations Shariq Jamal Khan said the police were taking the case as a challenge and promised to take it to the logical end.

The police officer said the investigations were underway after the case was filed. “We have the videos and the experts are analyzing as it is a technical process to ascertain who was doing what.”

Shariq Jamal said the case is very strong and that they have also recorded the statement of the victim.

The incident
In yet another terrifying episode of violence against women, a woman in Lahore's Greater Iqbal Park was assaulted by hundreds of men.

The victim, along with her friends, was making a TikTok video in the park when hordes of men of all ages climbed a fence and attacked the woman.

The victim told the police that the men groped her, tore off her clothes, beat her, and tossed her in the air. In addition, they robbed her of Rs15,000, snatched her mobile phone and took off her gold ring and studs.

Out of hundreds of men, many of who just stood there and even made a video, only one person came to the woman's rescue and helped her get out of the park.

CM seeks report
Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has sought a report from CCPO Lahore about the harassment of the woman in Greater Iqbal Park and directed to the early arrest of the accused

The chief minister said it was a very regrettable incident and it was a collective responsibility to provide justice to the affected woman, he added.

Does anyone what actually happened? What was she doing that 400 idiots randomly jumped her?

Something about this story seems too simplistic but even if one laid their hands on these women they should go down for a long time. No mercy for ******* acts by ******* men

PM Imran Khan's views on women are not the reason for 400 people doing this!

PM Imran Khan's views on women are not the reason for 400 people doing this!

Our PM refuses to accept that Pakistan has a femicide problem and there is widespread violence against women.

‘After travelling the world, I can say that women in Pakistan are treated with a lot of respect,’ PM Imran.

The government needs to stop forwarding the narrative that women are safe and stop policing what women wear which Imran has done on many occasions. I know he retracted his victim-blaming remark but the damage had already been done. Lahore’s top cop said, following the motorway rape, that why was the victim driving at night. The whole narrative is rotten. These statement embolden rapists and justify their sexual assaults .

Regarding this molestation case, the blame game has already begun. Netizens are already blaming the latest victim for being out of her house.

Something about this story seems too simplistic but even if one laid their hands on these women they should go down for a long time. No mercy for ******* acts by ******* men

so you think there is a conspiracy behind this now? 400 men being involved in this conspiracy?

Hope she gets counseling, that would had been traumatic for her.

Not sure how Police are going to find 400 men.

PM Imran Khan's views on women are not the reason for 400 people doing this!

his views that he himself announced shows the mentality that exists in our society. When the leader of the country has the same mentality where he implies that the fault lies on the women than it shows how deep of a problem this is.

if the police wants to do its job properly, they can easily find the 400 men.

When you do a protest against armed forces, the armed forces here can easily figure out whose who through face recognition and other systems.

Whats sad is that for any action to take place the PM has to take notice. The police themselves will never start an investigation before hand.

How are you going to punish a 400 people..

Death penalty for all 400 of them?

Chemical castration like suggested by IK could be an option to create a deterrent. Of those 400 the ones you have iron clad evidence against, those are the ones I would recommend castrating.

Lahore Police are tracing the hundreds of suspects who assaulted and harassed a female TikToker and her companions at the city's Greater Iqbal Park on Independence Day, the city's police chief said on Wednesday.

In a statement, Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Ghulam Mahmood Dogar said the suspects were being identified through videos of the incident shared on social media, and that a number of photos and videos had been sent to the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) to ascertain their identities.

On Tuesday, the Lorry Adda police had registered a case against nearly 400 suspects for harassing and assaulting the woman at Azadi Flyover.

The incident occurred on August 14 when hundreds of youngsters were celebrating Independence Day at the park. Police moved into action on Tuesday after videos of the episode went viral and sparked an outrage on social media.

CCPO Dogar ordered police to arrest the suspects visible in the video clips and said the culprits would be "traced soon", according to the statement.

"Those who misbehaved with the girl will be dealt with strictly," he was quoted as saying.

Footage is being acquired from Safe City cameras, DHA and TikTok clips, a police official who asked not to be named because the investigation is ongoing told Dawn.com. He said at least 10 suspects had been identified and would be apprehended soon, adding that more suspects would be identified soon.

On Wednesday, Lahore Police also issued an appeal to the public to help identify and arrest the suspects involved in the incident.

The appeal issued by Lahore Police to arrest the suspects.
The FIR was registered under Sections 354-A (assault or use of criminal force against woman and stripping her of her clothes), 382 (theft after preparation made for causing death, hurt or restraint in order to commit the theft), 147 (rioting) and 149 (unlawful assembly) of the Pakistan Penal Code.

Azhar Mashwani, Punjab chief minister's focal person for digital media, on Wednesday said that "strong and non-bailable clauses" had been added to the FIR.

He added that Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar had ordered police to arrest all the culprits "ASAP".

Meanwhile, PTI leader Zulfi Bukhari said that Prime Minister Imran Khan had personally spoken to the Punjab inspector general of police about the incident. "Police is catching all culprits involved in [the] manhandling of female TikToker in Lahore," he tweeted.

'Deeply disturbing'

Public figures, including politicians and celebrities, renewed their calls for the protection of women in Pakistan following the incident.

Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly and PML-N leader Shehbaz Sharif said he was "deeply disturbed" by the harassment incident. "What is more worrying is the direction our society is headed in. The recent anti-women incidents are a reminder that [the] malaise is deep-rooted."

Federal Planning Minister Asad Umar also found the incident very disturbing. "There needs to be serious introspection of the causes of this ugly face of society," he said, adding that "women cannot be left feeling insecure."

PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz termed the visuals of the assault "heart-wrenching", saying they "warrant collective introspection".

"We as parents, teachers & leaders need to reflect upon the upbringing of our youngsters to make public spaces safe for women," she tweeted.

Punjab Finance Minister Makhdoom Hashim Jawan Bakht strongly condemned the assault, saying "the full might of the government will come down" upon those involved in it.

Attacked by hundreds

According to the first information report (FIR) of the incident, the complainant stated that she, along with six companions, was filming a video near Minar-e-Pakistan on Independence Day when around 300 to 400 people "attacked us".

She said that she and her companions made a lot of effort to escape from the crowd. Observing the situation, the park's security guard opened the gate to the enclosure around Minar-e-Pakistan, the FIR quoted her as saying.

"However, the crowd was huge and people were scaling the enclosure and coming towards us. People were pushing and pulling me to the extent that they tore my clothes. Several people tried to help me but the crowd was too huge and they kept throwing me in the air," she said.

She further stated that her companions were also assaulted. During the struggle, her ring and earrings were "forcibly taken", in addition to a mobile phone of one of her companions, his identity card and Rs15,000 that he had on his person.

"The unidentified persons assaulted us violently," the complainant added.

The latest incident comes amid renewed focus on violence against women in Pakistan, following the murders of Noor Mukadam and Quratul Ain in July.

In the same month, a video went viral on social media in which six men were seen harassing a couple in Islamabad. The men held the couple at gunpoint, forced them to strip and then beat them up. Moreover, they also abused the couple verbally and physically by doing vulgar acts.

Four of the suspects were later arrested.

Frustrated mentality of Subcontinent men. This is the only way thirsty men who have been forced to suppress their sexual urges get a chance to touch a female.

The entire subcontinent is messed up. Suppressing sexual urges never works.

Wouldn’t be surprised if police are amongst the men who did this.

so you think there is a conspiracy behind this now? 400 men being involved in this conspiracy?

No, but 400 people attacking a group of women? And no one knew it was wrong or had the courage to stop it. I await more information.
As far as conspiracy theories are concerned, didn't you fall Hook, line and sinker for the Afg daughters kidnapping

The subcontinent overall has a disgusting mindset towards women, so this doesn’t surprise me at all, even in so called liberal cities like Lahore.

This mentality is not going to change overnight, at the very least the perpetrators should be given the strictest harshest punishment to send a message.

As for Imran I’m disappointed with him because I had high expectations of his leadership but he’s become too much of a reactionary for my liking.

Welcome to imran khans Utopia.

It’s not Imran Khan’s fault. I don’t agree with his reasoning for rapes, but all of these incidents stem from Patriarchy and women being treated as just sexual objects whose only reason for existence is to satisfy men’s desires and cook for them.
This is a deep rooted problem which will not go away until women are completely liberated from the clutches of oppressive patriarchy and religion.

How it is relevant to the thread though.

The person I quoted wanted a constructive discussion on the discourse which I am trying to do. On the other hand, your post doesn't add anything except creating useless noise. Don't quote and reply if you have nothing to write.

Very. Either you care for all rape victims or you don't. You can't pick and chose which ones you comment on. Take this opportunity to call for all your leaders to be charged with war crimes and then criticise Kaptaan

I Still can't get over the fact that so many people were involved and that no one had the courage to intervene to stop this. Has our society become so debauched that not even one person had any courage.

The woman who was attacked by a mob at Minar-e-Pakistan on August 14 on Wednesday narrated her ordeal, which, she revealed much to the shock and horror of everyone, lasted around two-and-a-half hours.

In an interview with Daily Pakistan, the woman said that the mob began by wanting to take a selfie with her and her companions, who had gone to the Greater Iqbal Park in Lahore to make a TikTok video.

"It was okay as far as taking a selfie goes [...] but they soon pushed the whole group to a fenced area, and later it was torn down and everyone came pouring in," she said.

As the mob continued to harass the group, the woman said a point came when a small pond came. She thought to herself that maybe that is what she should do: jump into the water. "My team kept telling me to jump, but I couldn't."

Horrifically, she went on to narrate how the group even called the Police Helpline number, 15, but to no avail.

"I was tortured from 6:30pm to 9pm," she said, adding that the mob kept tugging at her hair and propping her up as she lost balance, saying, "she must be faking it, she must be okay".

"If a woman is not safe in her Pakistan, in her own city, then she is safe no where," she said, between sobs.

She said that people continued to touch her and treat her like a "play thing".

"There is no part of my body which is not bruised," she added.

The woman said that as may be the case when someone may find a woman wearing what they deem to be "objectionable clothing", this was no such incidence.

"I did not wear any vulgar clothes. I have never worn such clothes, or made vulgar videos. I was in a proper dress. I had got a new one stitched for August 14.

"Before I knew it, I was stripped bare," she said.

The woman recalled calls being made multiple times to law enforcement to come to the rescue and she managed a meek "help me" for them to hear, but no one came for hours.

"Why was this done? I never did anything wrong to anyone. No one even knew me.

"Is this my punishment for being a daughter of Pakistan?" she asked.

The Women’s Action Forum (WAF) has strongly condemned the attack on a woman at Minar-e-Pakistan, terming it "reprehensible".

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the WAF said that the assault on a woman with many other women at the Iqbal Park on Independence Day has shaken them to the core.

“WAF is appalled and deeply disturbed by the deplorable incident at Greater Iqbal Park, (Minar-e-Pakistan) on 14th August 2021 where a woman along with a group of females, was violently assaulted and harassed for several hours by approximately 400 men at Minar-e-Pakistan in Lahore,” read the statement.

The forum asserted that the incident reminds one of the awful fact that women remain unsafe in Pakistan, especially at the public places in the country which are "becoming the breeding grounds for harassment violence, and abuse" against women.

“We are horrified by the inhumane behaviour the men at Minar-e-Pakistan displayed and that too on Independence Day, which reflects the free reign men in this country possess to behave violently without facing any form of accountability,” said the statement.

The WAF pointed out that the incident has given an impression that women cannot enjoy national holidays, nor can they be present at any public place.

“Instead, they [public places] are hostile environments that constantly put women at risk,” noted the statement.

The WAF has also highlighted that women constitute half of the country’s population but still they are denied their rights and are at risk of being targeted or harassed.

Moreover, it stated that the increasing incidents of violence against women and public place harassment reinforce the stereotype that women are the safest at homes "while the outside world becomes an evil place that is inaccessible to them".

The forum has blamed the tyranny on a "misogynist" society and questioned why the Punjab government and authorities are unable to make efforts for ensuring safety for women in public spaces.

It also criticised the media for continuing to circulate videos of the incident.

“Recirculating such videos under the false narrative of spreading awareness is extremely unethical and fails to consider the effects this will have on the survivor in the long-term,” read the statement.

The WAF urged the internet users and media to be empathetic while handling such issues to prevent the victim from suffering as the clips may continue to haunt them long after the incident.

“Forwarding such clips irresponsibly is forwarding violence online and must be discouraged,” said the statement.

Furthermore, the forum has also drawn the attention of Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, Punjab Inspector General of Police Inam Ghani, and Punjab Deputy Commissioner Mudassir Riaz Malik, calling them out for their "blatant neglect" towards women's safety in public spaces and failing to have adequate measures in place so such dreadful instances can be avoided.

I Still can't get over the fact that so many people were involved and that no one had the courage to intervene to stop this. Has our society become so debauched that not even one person had any courage.

It can be seen (and heard) from the video that there were people who were trying to stop but many animals were in there as well. Investigation will tell us more.

Modesty is a deeply rooted culture in our region and even Hindustan has the same core values. See old movies of the country like "Bawarchi" to know what I'm talking about. The people of the subcontinent are mentally not mature yet and this is a real issue for both of these countries. That's why there are many issues like this in both of our countries and if you wish to close your eyes, so be it.

I'm not an Imran simp but if anyone has the basic comprehension skills of a two-year-old they would know Imran's stance. This was not his modified stance after backlash, it's always been the same but it gets contrived. The liberal crowd in Pakistan's media sections have so much to criticize him but they pick topics that make no sense and this is a classic case of them.

Secondly, Imran keeps his personal opinions no matter what they are separate from the state. If he starts using state machinery to force Pardah in society, that's an issue. Until that, it's all good.

Rest I didn't understand what you said, maybe clarify or maybe I'll come back to it later to see what you have said.

Lahore woman assaulted on August 14

In yet another terrifying episode of violence against women amid a rise in such incidences, a woman in Lahore's Greater Iqbal Park was assaulted by hundreds of men on August 14.

A case has been filed against 400 people but arrests are yet to be made.

Two very odd issues:

Over two and a half hour and there was no one who tired to help her. I mean no one who called police? It’s not like a hit and run incident that police does after-investigation.

And what kind of Independence Day gathering without police presence?

If there were a couple of boys who did this barbaric act you could say there is always some "gande anday" in the society, but almost all of them were onvolved in this, upto 400 boys, this is insane.

Something is realy wrong here and I think parents need to take more responsibility here and only strict punishments can solve this matter once and for all.

You can't call them animals either because animals do what they are supposed to do. This is something else, gruesome and disgusting!

And these laantis did take off all of her clothing, how is this possible in daylight and no one is there to do anything? I just feel hurt and my blood is boiling!

Lanat hou in kamino par. Don’t they have mothers, sisters and daughters themselves? How would they feel if someone did this to their sister? Poor poor girl. Very disgusting and disturbing!

Imagine what their mothers snd sisters have to put up with and how their lives must be...

The Government together with the Police have to set a string example.

The girl went to the police station on 14th August to file a case but she was turned away.

Any clue where the police was?
and where the good Samaritans were?

We are losing our morals. Such public harassment of a woman by so many men was unthinkable a decade ago. Don't know what has happened to our men. Such a sad incident and that too on independence day.

I doubt it was that much different a decade ago. I've been hearing about women being harassed in the subcontinent for a lot longer than that. I suppose the sheer numbers of pervs involved is new. Maybe you can put that down to social media warping illiterate minds en masse.

This kind of physical harassment at public places was rare at least in Pakistan. These animals used to be afraid, not from law but from other men at public places. Its not the case anymore.

There are multiple reasons as to why it has come to this. Cheap internet, less religiosity, excess youth, unemployment, a generation grown in war etc has created many perverts.

Yes that all but the most important is the lack of education

These guys feel like they have right to molest her. This stems from the fact that there is a general consensus among these 400 men that this woman (janaani) is promiscuous (chagal). Their evidence is her TikTok videos which is considered a bold move in desi culture.

And most of the time it is these guys mother who taught them such thing and raising a monster son. Most of the evil in desi culture is actually perpetrated by females against females. Western men are no better than desi men when it comes to desires but their upbringing is different and they learn how to respect women from women in their household.

LAHORE: Chief Minister Usman Buzdar Thursday urged Punjab Police to take action against culprits who harassed a woman at the Minar-e-Pakistan monument on Independence Day, instructing police to bring the case to its logical conclusion soon.

Punjab Inspector General of the Police (IGP) Inam Ghani, during a meeting with the Punjab chief minister, revealed that some of the 400 individuals who have been booked for harassing a woman at Minar-e-Pakistan on Independence Day, have been arrested.

The Punjab IG revealed this while briefing Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Usman Buzdar on the progress of the case.

CM Buzdar sought a final report on the incident tomorrow (Friday) and summoned a high-level meeting.

CM forms inquiry committees
Meanwhile, CM Buzdar formed a committee to probe the Parks & Horticulture Authority's (PHA) role in the incident.

The committee will submit a report after investigating the responsibility and negligence of the PHA officials and staff members in the incident.

Furthermore, the Punjab additional inspector general of police formed another committee to investigate the responsibility and negligence of the security personnel.

He directed the concerned authorities to further the probe with modern scientific standards.

Declaring the Minar-e-Pakistan incident investigations "a test case", the chief minister said it will soon be brought to its logical conclusion.

He said the culprits do not deserve any leniency.

"We will ensure that the victim gets justice,” he added.

Meanwhile, Punjab Police has expedited its search for other persons who can be seen in the video.

A large number of people are posting her Tik Tok photos and justifying the assault.

This country is doomed. Its more disrespectful to the religion it says it represents, far more than any non-Muslim who intends to disrespect it. A country of hypocrites. This has been going on since 1947, the only thing is due to media / social media each and every incident comes to light almost immediately.

And ofc, the sick minded people (who are probably in the millions tbh) will try to defend what happened. Ashamed to be from Pakistan, quite honestly. How can you not. Sharing nationality with these barbarians.

This is public popular spot. How could they molest her for hours? Where is the police? I've heard of many cases of perverts groping women while walking down the street in the subcontinent etc but it's all in a flash. How could these perverts continue the assault for hours in a public place.

LAHORE: The Punjab police have taken 20 people into custody on suspicion if assaulting and groping a woman at Lahore's Minar-e-Pakistan on Independence Day. The suspects have been over to the CIA for further interrogation.

They were detained from the nearby areas of the Greater Iqbal Park.

The authorities have shared the suspect's details with the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) and are waiting for an identification report to proceed further.

The suspects were taken into custody after police obtained videos that went viral on social media of the horrific assault of a woman Tiktoker who was making videos for her channel on Independence Day.

After NADRA sends its report, the police will have the victim identify the suspects as well.

The Minar-e-Pakistan assault came to light after a video went viral on social media, showing hundreds of men attacking a woman as she went to the park with four of her friends to celebrate Independence Day. The police had registered a case against 400 men for assaulting the woman.

Medical examination
The Punjab government released Friday the medical examination report of the victim which confirmed details of the injuries she sustained after being assaulted.

Signs of inflammation were found on the woman's body, the report said, adding that her neck, right hand and ears were swollen.

There are three scratches on the right side of her chest and scratches on her left arm, back and both legs.

There are also several bruises on her body, the report said.

Police to present report today

Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has convened a meeting today to review progress in the investigation of the public assault case, which has caused national outrage.

Inspector General of Police Inam Ghani will brief the chief minister over the arrests and identification of the suspects.

The meeting will be attended by Provincial Law Minister Raja Basharat, IG Punjab, Additional Chief Secretary Home, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister and other senior officials.

Strong evidence gathering that it was a publicity stunt organised by the lady and her fiancee to get publicity.

So they organised 400 men to be part of this publicity stunt? I would love to see the evidence for that.

There is no evidence. Please do not believe so called two-bit journalists from YT who make all sorts of wild claims to earn money.

What do you think is the right amount for allowing 400 Pakistani men to assault you?

Police have taken at least 24 men into custody for harassing and assaulting a TikToker at the Greater Iqbal Park in Lahore on August 14, said Human Rights Minister Shireen Mazari on Friday.

In a complaint lodged with the Lari Adda police station, the assault survivor said that she was filming a video near Minar-e-Pakistan on August 14 along with her friends when a mob of around 400 people attacked them.

In a tweet on Friday, the federal minister said that the arrests were made after the suspects were identified through geo-fencing and National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA).

In a post on Twitter, the minister said more arrests are expected on Friday in connection with the “condemnable” incident.

She said a police inquiry headed by additional IG was also underway against the alleged negligence of police officers in the assault case.

SHO, DSP suspended

Meanwhile, Punjab Police chief Inaam Ghani suspended the Larri Adda police station SHO Muhammad Jamil and DSP Usman Haider, Badami Bagh SDPO, as he ordered an inquiry into the incident pertaining to an assault on a female TikToker by an at least 400-strong mob.

Along with removing the SHO and DSP, the IGP also transferred SSP Operations Nadeem Abbas and Additional SP City Hassan Jahangir and asked them to report to the Central Police Office immediately.

The suspended police officials were found guilty of negligence.

Meanwhile, a three-member inquiry team formed on the orders of the chief minister will look into the incident, particularly the delay in the registration of the FIR. The inquiry team will also evaluate the quality of the police's helpline (15) response.

Assault on TikToker

The female TikToker in the FIR said that the mob picked her up and started tossing her in the air. “I was stripped and my clothes were torn apart,” she had said in the FIR. The victim while narrating her ordeal had said she cried for help but no one came to her rescue.

She had also complained that her gold ornaments, cash and mobile phone were also snatched by the mob.

Two days ago, non-bailable clauses were added to the FIR against the culprits who assaulted the woman, Punjab CM’s focal person Azhar Mashwani informed.

“Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has ordered the arrest of the culprits as soon as possible,” he added.

I think the culprits need to be paraded on national television. Personally I wouldn't be averse to seeing them lashed Taliban style on tv, but I doubt this is within the Pakistan penal code. But would certainly be a good idea to shame them publicly. This is the only way to get through to these people, otherwise their brazen insolence will never be cured.

Let the rest of Pakistan see the fate of such perverts as well. Put their pictures and home addresses on the screen every day for a week.

That may pose a threat to their family who probably have no hand in the wrong doings.

The same day a TikToker was assaulted by a mob at Greater Iqbal Park near Minar-e-Pakistan, another young woman had to go through a similar ordeal in Lahore, a video of which has now surfaced on social media.

The incident apparently happened on August 14, the same day TikToker Ayesha Akram was attacked by a mob of around 400 people gathered at the national monument to celebrate the country’s Independence Day.

The video, which emerged Friday on social media, shows that two girls along with a minor boy were sitting on the back seat of a Qingqi rickshaw that was stuck in a traffic jam as people were celebrating the Independence Day.

A man suddenly jumped on the rickshaw and forcibly kissed one of the girls, leaving her in shock and prompting the other to slap the harasser. It was disheartening to see people around the rickshaw, most of them on motorcycles, not only enjoyed the scene but kept on hurling derogatory remarks at the girls.

Despite hundreds of people surrounding the rickshaw, not even a single person tried to stop the aggressor or even say anything against the vile act.

One of the girls could also be seen grabbing her shoe to defend herself as another man approaches the rickshaw, apparently trying to replicate the shameful act.

Talking to a private TV channel, Punjab Minister for Prisons Fayyazul Hassan Chohan, while taking notice of the incident, said that the culprit will be arrested the earliest and will be given exemplary punishment.

The incident happened on the same day, August 14, when a female TikToker along with her companions was harassed and assaulted by a mob in Lahore’s Greater Iqbal Park.

The victim stated in her complaint lodged with the Lari Adda police station that she was filming a video near Minar-e-Pakistan along with her friends when a mob of around 400 people attacked them.

She alleged that the mob picked her up and started tossing her in the air. “I was stripped and my clothes were torn apart,” she said.

She had also complained that her gold ornaments, cash and mobile phone were also snatched by the mob.

And people making videos were amazed by his act and applauded him. This is quite disgusting to be honest. Then we have apologists for trying their level best to disguise that greater park incident as a fault of the girl. Our society has hit rock bottom.

This will not sit well with people here but I find Islam and sexual deprivation go hand in hand.

Iranian Pastors (religious police) wear long tops that come down to the knees just to cover up their erections.

Sorry but unless the issues are discuss openly nothing is going to change

This is nonsense. On the contrary Islam teaches to marry early, it's against sexualistion of women, nude movies, prostitution etc.

The most cases of sexual abuse/assualt are in countries such as India(majority Hindu), USA. These nations also have the most cases of child abuse, India alone has over 1 million children forced into prostritution. Not to mention Epstein, Prince Andrew and other famous people in the west accused of being abusers.

Of course there are evil beasts in Muslim nations, they are everywhere. The differenece is Pakistan will hang rapists, while UK they will be out in a few years free to roam again.
