Tim Robinson - an aggressive NZ batter in the Finn Allen mould

We saw glimpses of his ability in the 3rd T20 I vs Pakistan.

But I believe there is more to come

He is barely 22 and we saw his ability against pace yesterday.

In the Super Smash this year , he averaged 44 and struck at 180 vs pace bowling.

He also averaged 77 and struck at 202 against spin bowling in the same tournament .

Quite a bit ahead of the rest of the pack in terms of hitting pace and spin.


One to watch out for and a possible selection for the upcoming World T20!

These guys play 1 or 2 matches and they are fiercely, aggressively coming after 140kmh+ bowlers with serious intent…

But Pakistan has an opener that has been playing in this position unquestionably for the past 5-6 years and is still too scared to show this kind of intent as an opener!

NZ has been fieding C string for a while in T20 bilaterals. For a small talent pool they experiment a lot and come up with new guys. They honestly don't care about series results.

Tbf in rizzu's case, I don't think he can. Rizzu is a leg side hack, I saw the way he was playing, Any delivery bowled away from his body he has no clue how to play beyond stepping miles beyond the wicket to legside crossbat it.

Can't really do much with such a player.

As for Babar, In terms of spin it's because his backfoot is non existent which is why anytime spin is bowled on a good length he

A) Gets stumped

B) Plumb LBW

C) Catch at slip or to his right on the inner circle after he top edges It.

But in terms of pace, I do not know, Bobby is capable of attacking pace but I don't know.

But for rizzu it's impossible and for Babar vs spin, he can't ever be attacking. In this case its a technique and footwork issue.

Conway and Williamson have been pretty slow in T20's, especially Conway . He is very similar to Rizwan. His strike rate is only 129. NZ need more firepower to be a real threat.

Conway should move to 3 or 4 and Kane should just be phased out now.

Yep. KW needs to be phased out. Conway at least adds value as keeper as well. KW neither keeps nor does he bowl.

Yeah he is not there yet but he looked pretty promising. I really like the vibe of him. He could be the next finn fallen type player and his reputation says the same.

The idea of playing these guys is to get them to that level. That is how you groom. T20 bilaterals are excellent place to groom youngsters. They don't care about results. Finn Allen was also like that at the beginning. Inconsistent. Look at Rachin now. He was a lower order all rounder when he first came to India. Saved a test match along with Ajaz patel after they were 9 down on last day against Ashwin/Jadeja/Axar. IN a couple of years he has become an elite batsman.

Rachin was an opener/Top 3 batter in domestic though
