I watched Saud’s dismissal today - lazy shot, played too away from body and got caught in cordon. He was surprisingly struggling- scored like 7/8 in an hour before getting out.

Really was lazy. He wasn't really struggling. Was leaving the ball well and middling everything. He was just struggling to score I guess!

But I've noticed with Saud, he's a second innings batsman. Most of his runs come then.

That's a bad sign - it means the problem isn't pressure or lack of ability, because scoring in second innings is often tougher - rather it tells about focus, he is not serious about taking the issue proactively, rather needs to be pushed. Daddy hundreds in first innings set up the game and make it easy for everyone - a batsman that scores runs in first innings (or a fast bowler who takes wickets in first innings) actually helps every other player, while scores in 2nd innings are invaluable, but it's more individual glory than team cause - Asad's Brisbane innings was a fantastic effort, but PAK could have saved that game had it come on first innings.

It is such a pleasure to watch this boy bat. I desperately hope he plays Test cricket for Pakistan sooner rather than later. Honestly, it will be Pakistan's loss if he doesn't.

Pakistan has successfully destroyed another quality test player. He should have made his debut after MisYou retired but instead Pakistani management decided to gave chances to undeserving players. By now he should have played at least 15-20 matches but we're still waiting for his debut in 2022

He's already 27 & has only 5-7 years of top cricket left in him won't be able to play 50 matches for Pakistan because Pakistan play so few test matches.
