Time to appreciate what Najam Sethi has done for Pakistan cricket

It is a shame that people are refusing to give him his due simply because of his support for the PMLN government

He has done a wonderful job for pakistan cricket especially when it comes to reviving international cricket

Ever since his involvement in 2014/2015 teams we have made good progress and there is no doubt that if he is allowed to stay he will bring full international tours to pakistan cricket

He is the best thing that has happened to the pcb in a long time and hopefully he will be in charge for years to come

People should learn to put their political differences aside and not be so bitter

Sethi have been really good so far for Pakistan cricket. Ever since he got the post, he have managed to get things moving, for instance unlike his predecssors he actually managed to get PSL up and running against all odds. Infact it made it instant hit. I do not have the actual numbers to back up the claim but Id guess the market value for PSL would be atleast $50Million. Thats huge considering except for the PSL2 final, every match have been on neutral ground. Now he is also working really well to gradually bring international cricket back home.
Although despite his recent success one shouldnt ignore his fail attempt to revive cricket with India. His 'MOU' signed with India during Big3 take over was his biggest let down. However, I doubt there was anything he could've done back then. But now that Big3 is history and more revenue for PCB means all good news.
Id be one of few who thinks Najam Sethi will be much better chairman than some of his predecssors.

NZ team was targeted in Karachi as well and that too on the hotel which is much more dangerous than team bus attack because now they have got bullet proof and bomb proof vehicles but that bomb blast on hotel was way more fatal

he can fill his own pockets and make brownie points for his masters as much as he likes as long as he is helping pakistan cricket by bringing cricket home in some capacity

convincing them?

why do you think karachi will host matches in psl 3?

it will lead to karachi hosting matches in the future

eventually other cities will get matches as well but people like you will have something new to cry about

it is not his job to nurture talent. he is a administrator not a coach

also you have to consider the priorities. right now the main priority is to bring international cricket back to pakistan

domestic cricket etc will fall into place and progress will be made on that front but the focus right now has to be on bringing international cricket back

Ok fair enough but he is still a politician. Politicians should never ever run a cricket board. Cn u imagine a politician running a cricket board like England or Australia? In the long term trust me Sethi will end up doing more damage than goodness.

More credit to Giles than him, but some of the credit does go to him.

But at the end of the day, he's a politician and has obvious biases whenever he operates. Damaged Pakistan cricket by becoming a parallel head alongside SK, both trying to pull things in different directions. Tried his best before WC15 that Afridi is made captain, but could not succeed. He forced SK to make PSL a separate legal entity and made himself the head of five-member board of directors of PSL alongside other crooks like Shakeel Shaikh, et al (SK was not in favour of this at all). This means that all future PSLs will have the same directors and its revenue would not have any accountability and it may or may not be handed over to PCB, even if future PCB is totally revamped by upcoming government(s).

And lets not forget, he's a dramabaz of the highest order. Announced "we are part of big 4" after gladly accepting BCCI's fake promises on a useless piece of paper. Now that the reality of his stupidity has finally dawned upon him, he's started making noise of "legal action legal action". Mister, this is not Pakistani politics that you can undemocratically become a chairman on the basis of useless court orders and no one would raise an eyebrow.

Made PCB a circus by repeatedly getting the top post of Pakistan cricket by court maneuverings, without any selfrespect. When he resigned the last time as chairman, he actually announced that I will never become chairman again.

Dramabaz came chest-thumping the day Sharjeel was held that "we've solid evidence" bla bla. None was there, it turned out.

The guy only cares about $$. Has even started begging ICC now for BCCI series. His role in giving exclusive rights to Geo for the award ceremony was another low.

Yes the guy has been decent in his dealings with world x1, but lets not forget that this guy is solely here due to his closeness to a certain political party, not for any credentials at all.
