Time to throw the word "Experienced" out of Pakistan cricket

Experince word is thrown around to keep selecting players that do not deserve to be part of the team on the basis of their current performance. If a young player is knocking the door with his performance in domestic cricket, he deserve to be picked ahead over a guy who is struggling.

Azhar Ali is a prime example. The guy has not been dropped for a single game before this in a decade. Can you believe it? This also includes his horrendous form for the past few years.

Yasir Shah and Nauman at this age with so much experience got out performed by SL rookie spinners just tells you how bad they are. With the age no. These guys have we are not thinking about future by keep selecting them despite their average performance.

Hassan Ali has been statistically one of the worst bowlers going around these days. Dahani looks so much better than him but because Hasan has so called "experience " he keeps getting picked.

Pakistan needs to follow policy of form based slection. Just because a player like Hasan has more wickets than Dahani it does not mean we have to keep picking him despite his awful performances for a longer time.

Pakistan are really failing at blooding youngsters at test match level.

Home series were great opportunities for the likes of Dhani, Saud Shakeel, Kamran Ghulam, Shan Masood and arguably others to get some experience. For some reason we chose to allow Azhar Ali to stat pad at the end of his career instead.

Even after Azhar was dropped we picked another dinosaur in his place who himself had just been kicked out of the side. The selection of Fawad over the red hot Shan Masood is inexplicable.

Babar has some real limitations as captain and his inability to think beyond the immediate term is one of them.

A good experienced player is worth his weight in gold, a bad experienced player destroys upcoming talent and stops the evolution of the team. I dont blame AA and others, its the spineless selectors that fail to make decisions that should get the vitriol from Fans. I have often argued on these pages that coaches at the international level are a total waste of time and i stand by that. The most important person in a team is the Captain, followed by the chief Selector. Selectors that are bad judges or the ones that are scared to make decisions should be sacked

I was all in favour of keeping Yasir but he has been disappointing espically with his control.

The word experience is a direct fault of carrying the likes of Hafeez and Malik, who were mediocre players at best for 20 years . The fact they played for so long is a travesty .

Every team needs experience for the balance of the team as long as it’s merited .
