Make no mistake - things were looking very dicey when we were reduced to 167/7.

Back in 2013/14 when we had Irfan, Junaid and Ajmal in our tail - 167/7 would have become 168 all out in the blink of an eye lol. Thats how bad our tail was...

I have been saying it for years and even in the 2015 WC when I advocated for 8 batsman yet some people wanted a 4 man pace attack with people like Rahat, Irfan, Ehsan Adil etc. who cannot hold a bat

Point is batting depth is CRITICAL in the modern day ODI game.

Back to today - MOM was Amir and Fahim who played very good knocks to ensure Sarfraz had support. Both are very capable lower order batsman and gave us an additional 70 runs where as Irfan, Rahat, Junaid and Ajmal would have folded for 1 run lol

We bat deep until no. 9/10 and this gives a lot of flexibility in this tournament. If we maintain a good enough SR early and play positively - we can chase anything down with our depth in batting!

Yeah but bowlers have bowl first and foremost

If we had Anwar and Bhatti the result would be different

Yes it's a good thing to have our current lower order but it's up too where the problems are

Yup 100% true for modern day cricket. I feel that everyone except the no. 11 batsmen should be capable of doing something with the bat. and no. 11 can just hang around with the other person at the end. So example that means just 1 of junaid, irfan, rahat, imran khan should be in the playing 11
