Australia won the toss and elected to bat

Philip Hughes will score a 100 and solidify his spot for the next 5 games and fail once again against the big guns.

Cowlasher out early. Lets see how long Goldenboy can bat against the mighty Zim.

Bailey goneeeee Aussies collapsing. Japie commentators in ecstasy

Australia is seriously bad at playing spin. Convict OZGOD any reasons why?

One thing on Maxwell- he was banned from playing cricket at school unless he batted left handed.

It's made him as a player

You can say the same thing for SA but they seem to produce some good players of spin.

Nah you can't say the same in SA. In Australia we're trained to be aggressive. So in junior spinners get smashed around the place- in games and in the nets and never get to develop their games unless they have a really good coach who backs them in

I see.

This is another team who'll gift their wickets away to Raina and Rayudu.

SamRoy: "I think it is a long term concern that Aussie batsman are getting poorer by the day against spin. Ian Chapell & co.dominated Bedi, Chandrasekhar and Prasanna on turning tracks in 1967. Nowadays these guys except Clarke and to some extent Smith are really pathetic against spin."

Still recon AUS will make 200+ and defend it. I'm pleasantly surprised by the ZIM bowlers though.

Man Aussies really suck against spin.

Hafeez will eat them alive in the U.A.E.They are not going to be able to buy a run against him.

Woke up to check the score. Looks like the OZ in a bit of strife

I have been saying this for months. This Australian team is nothing and will be exposed on spinning tracks. India and Australia are two extremes. Where one team thrives, the other sucks.

What rubbish batting is this? Even Clarke can't score quickly anymore. Should retire from LOI's after the WC.

Which is why Pakistan will crush Australia later this year due to the conditions. Hopefully Zimbabwe will win as this is their best chance and will be good for World Cricket anyway.

Zimbabwe are still rubbish to chase this actually. Even 150 will be tough for them.

I think they should let those junior spinners develop. Otherwise they will keep struggling against the senior ones in intl cricket.

I agree.
There are significant issues with Australian junior cricket which were masked by Johnson in the Ashes.

Fortunately there won't be any turn in the world cup

Clarke will weaken Aus for the World Cup.

Plays too slowly, if I were an opposition captain I would do my best to ensure he bats till the end.

They managed to beat us in the UAE in 2009 and 2012. Unfortunately, we have a serious mental block against them and losing to them again in ODIs would be inexcusable.

Pakistan have a pretty abysmal record in the UAE when it comes to ODI's, even we've won an ODI series there :13:

I'm calling it off the top of my head but I'm assuming if Clarke plays one of Finch, Warner or Watson have to sit out.

You won because we were deliberately under-performing to have Younis sacked as captain.

Australia are still favourites to win the world cup. Spin won't be a factor in australia apart from SCG. Clarke is a different kind of beast in australian conditions.

They had Hussey at that time and we too were playing the likes of Cheema,Tanvir etc.

Now we are playing world class Junaid. Oh, how did I forget that?

We're a much better team than 2009-2011 which was Australia's weakest period since the mid 80s

He is still a better bat than all in your team, so I wouldn't worry too much.

Aman It was pretty obvious Clarke was playing to the situation of 5/97

Maybe in tests. But in ODI's you had Symonds,Hussey, Ponting and a younger Clarke when you toured UAE in 09. The current ODI lineup is quite bad in spinner friendly conditions.

A better test side for sure. But not in ODI cricket.

Don't get me wrong- we're going to be humiliated in the UAE.

But we're still a better team than 2009-2011. We were very weak then.

Zimbabwe is way better than bangladesh. They are not arrogant too and play as a team.

Are we here for something special from zimbabwe today?

Zimbabwe should win this.

The different between the Zimbos and Bangladesh is discipline in how they play

Imagine Zimbabwe with Gary Ballance, Kyle Jarvis, Colin de Grandhomme, Tatenda Taibu, Sean and Craig Ervine. I feel sorry for Zimbabwe. They are producing the talent but due to mismanagement all these players are choosing not to represent Zimbabwe.
