Amidst the chaos surrounding Raja, Sethi, Naqvi, and Zaka, Wasim brought the calm Pakistan desperately needed. During his tenure, Pakistan achieved remarkable successes, including a series win against South Africa in their home turf and a dominating performance in the T20 World Cup 2021 that carried over to 2022. However, Pakistan's progress was short-lived as they reverted to non-professional ways, yielding disappointing results.

Wasim's vision for Pakistan cricket included implementing a six-team system, with the ultimate goal of decentralizing the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) across six provinces. Each province would conduct its own city-based domestic season, making the PCB's role less centralized. Unfortunately, this vision wasn't realized after Wasim's departure.

Under Wasim's plan, each province would have its own board, led by a chairman elected from the cities, and receive funding from the ICC and PCB pool, as well as generate revenue through local resources. The Northern Team had already begun playing Stokes Bazz Ball in First-Class cricket, but this progress was halted. The calmness Wasim brought was disrupted by greedy journalists like Jutt and the GEO team, among others.

So what you ate saying is that we need professional, hard working and sincere administrators. Don't be so silly. We need Sethi, Naqvi and money laundering bankers

LOL he's not dead that you're paying him tribute. But yes, he is just about the only professional that Pakistan managed to ever get at the top. But it was always doomed to fail because Pakistan cricket is full of powerful, entrenched, regional interests that benefit from the inefficiency and redtape of the current system.

Unlike everyone else before and after him, Wasim Khan had a vision because he was a cricket administrator who had experience doing that job. He was not a clueless nepo hire who knew nothing about how to run a cricket organization. Which is probably why he is no longer working for Pakistan cricket and is now working a much better and higher paying job with the ICC.

Atleast Naqvi has the power and authority and most importantly he is sincere to Pak cricket even if he doesn’t know much about it , he can always hire the right persons to do the job the important thing is he is sincere and got the authority and full backing.

How do you know he is sincere?

He cancelled the U19 tournament after verifying the news that there is age fudging and bribe based selections , if he wasn't sincere then he would have let the tournament go on.

He knew that we are already all time low in talent and if there is age fudging and bribe based selection at U19 level it will further destroy our cricket.

I don't think Wasim Khan even though a good administrator had the power and authority to cancel any domestic tournaments or weed out the vultures sitting there at the junior level who are destroying our cricket but Naqvi definitely seems to have that authority and backing to make any changes he want.

Wasim Khan was a weak puppet who took dictations from Imran Khan and had no ideas of his own. He was a failure and should have been removed along with Ehsan Mani a lot earlier.

According to some rumors some kid who can bowl 140k+ (as per his own submitted videos with a speed gun) was told to bring PKR 2Lac in order to get selected in the U19 tournament and he failed to do so resulting him in being declared overage.

He is very happy to be away. He grabbed his opportunity with the PCB, Pakistan Cricket and survived for a good 2 years. He used the opportunity to get hired by the ICC at a three times higher salary and with more job security.

PCB chairman earns 3x less money than an ICC delegate? Doesn’t sound right.

I assume Chairmen of major boards must be earning a very good amount.
