PML-N leader Miftah Ismail Wednesday clarified that the new government decided not to increase the salaries of federal government employees as their pay was raised a couple of months ago.

Ismail was quick to address the criticism regarding “making a U-turn” on the announcement regarding an increase in salaries of the federal government employees by Prime Minister Shehbaz Shahbaz in his first speech in the National Assembly after being elected as the premier.

What do you expect from incompetent bunch, like for salary to hike by double amount you would need every nation's economic sector doubling in order to support such a jump, is SS really that illeterate? There will be many more U-turns within coming weeks, or never mind they won't hold on to the office for that long and will be kicked out and will rot behind bars this time for good.

If you guys lived in Pakistan you would had known this is not a u-turn yet.

Pay increase or minimum salary increase happens with the budget. Budget is announced in june-july and starts being effective from august.

Thus, any announcement they do as such would be effective with the new budget.

Pay increases cannot happen with an already existing budget that is in effect.

The reason for that is every department of govt is allocated a budget which is calculated in advance. You have to work around that budget you cant go over.

Thus, when the new budget is announced and these promises are not incopperated, than you have an argument...

I dont know about other countries and careless about other countries, but this is how it happens in Pakistan

He did announce the increase and that increase would be effective when its added to the budget of 2022-2023 and it would be effective from august 1 st 2022.

If the promised increases dont take place than, than you can say u turn
