Incredible! Think of it this way, Thierry Henry (a world class footballer, out right brilliance) has 50 CL goals in total.

Ronaldo has 52 in just the KO stages!

From the QF stage of the CL, you know the business end of the CL, the best teams Ronaldo has 35 goals and Messi has 16.

He has constantly delivered in crunch games at the domestic level while at the international level he has achieved greatness despite the Portugal side's strength, decades from now it's the numbers and accomplishments which matter as they are what people will look at and not superficial nonsense.

For example, while Wladmir fought valiantly in his fight against AJ he ultimately lost; when people look at his record they will see a blip which is why I believe he will continue on being a control freak who is never happy with morale victories

:))) Am sorry bro, can't take any of these amazing records seriously until he takes the SHIRT off. :asif

Ronaldo has as many knockout-stage goals as Raúl, Shevchenko and Inzaghi COMBINED! :O

Finally a great performance from Ronaldo, usually it's been about goals and not much else but yesterday he was like a man possessed. He'll never be as good as Messi but certainly can lay claim to be the best goal scorer ever!

The fact that Messi fans feel the need to bring up Messi in every thread about Ronaldo shows how insecure they are. :))

Correct me if am wrong guys, isn't the whole point of football "goal scoring" ?
:kakmal:smith:murali:srt:irfan:ksi

Messi should play as forward for 2 seasons so he can remove Ronaldo from the ATG top goal scoring records debate too :messi

You never know though, Ronaldo seems like the type to cling on just to make sure Messi doesn't erase him from the books.

Ronaldo has 50 games and 3 years on Messi :))

Nah bro, it's about looking good.

Assists and goals don't matter, it's all about the shirt. :yk

This is the height of delusion and insane fandom when people spew such logic, I don't even rate Cr7 as the ultimate goat as that guy for me is Brazilian Ronaldo but it just goes to show that Cr7 fans are generally the most objective and intelligent on the planet given that the metric for us is performance rather then bias which desperately pushes it when wee resort to superficial nonsense to advocate logic which suggests that Umar Akmal is a better test bat then Younis

3 years and 50 odd games. Ronaldo going to have to play till his 40s (and hope Messi retires) to make sure his records are intact.

What were Ronaldo's numbers when he was 29 or had the same number of appearances?

Messi is going blow to blow from the midfield :)))

That's like a freaking first five being the leading try scorer instead of a winger in rugby.

Something Messi matches him in, if Messi had half of Ronaldo's stats then there could be a debate regarding aesthetic vs efficiency but it's not and one only needs to see both of them play to realise who is better. Ronaldo can lay claim to be the better goal scorer which can be debated , anyway I don't think you can really compare them anymore because Messi is playing more and more deeper and Ronaldo closer to the goal these days.

Ronaldo cries like a baby when everyone reminds him how he's second best of this generation and will forever be in the GOAT's shadow :messi

You can post all the pics you like, I'm spitting the truth.

Yet it's Messi with the better numbers :)))

Imagine what Messi would be doing if he played as a forward and only played to score himself :))

Ronaldo ******* are like those year 12 kids who work hard and then brag they're the top student in the school when the gifted year 9 student is matching the same numbers without even trying :)))

Hahahah what a post! shaz619 :))) :))) :)))
What's it feel like to know that the majority will always perceive Messi to be better :))

Experts and current players, all call Messi the GOAT and on another level to everyone else.

Only ones who say Ronaldo is better are his team mates and fan boys who are lying to themselves in thinking his goal scoring is so far ahead of Messi's that can make a difference for the shortages in every other aspect.

How long did it take Ronaldo to win an international trophy?

How long did it take for him to match Messi's Ballon d'or tally despite being inferior to Messi for the last 2 years. If the award went to the best player of the season, Messi would be winning his 7th Ballon d'or this year.

:))) The story of Chokesi's career
Why are you disregarding it?

By the time Ronaldo finishes, he'll at best be fringe top 5 (Personally don't think he was better than Brazilian Ronaldo either).

Messi is easy top 3 now, on ability he's the best ever.

Thread title.... CL records broken by Cristiano Ronaldo.

Insecure Messi fan can't stand this and brings his trollness into it.

No point debating, you can celebrate your 2 minutes.

Just remember who emerges victorious at the end of every comparison and vote :messi

Because those records are going to be taken by Messi, he's only ahead because Messi plays midfield and is 50+ games behind.

Only way he keeps those records is if
1) Messi declines rapidly
2) He plays on long as possible to ensure Messi doesn't take them

Exactly, they can't stand Cr7's performance which speaks for itself and how their legendary Choker will forever remain in Cr7's shadow

Also, what's funny is that after Ronaldo's performance against Bayern, no Ronaldo fans were in the thread, it was just Messi fans moaning and crying.

We only came in later to set them straight.

Every. Comparison. Ends. One. Way. :messi

I'm sick of you geeks tarnishing Messi's legacy by having this fraud compared to him.

His biggest accomplsihment in his career was fooling his ******* into believing he's in Messi's league. Watch the two play and say it. There will be another 2-3 Ronaldo's in the next 50 years, who knows if we'll see another Messi.

Two off side goals and a tap in.

OMG GOAT, please. He's not even top 5. You don't even believe such nonsense.

Love how Ronaldo fans go silent the moment the majority vote, comparisons to greats, shadow references and age are brought up.

Lahori was like appreciate both when Messi schooled Real Madrid on their own turf too.

:)))

Keep posting pics and irrelevant stats of which Messi will likely take as long as Ronaldo doesn't choose to stick around past his use by date.

The fact he still has that Messi avatar after years is testament to how much pain he has inflicted on the poor chap :)))

All I want is for this stupid debate to end by Ronaldo fans.

Messi is better, the majority already acknowledge this.

Accept it and move on. Nothing wrong in being the second best of your generation.

:))) :)))

Their season actually mirrors the fight, Ronaldo (with his performance against Bayern) floors Messi in the 5th, Messi comes back and floors Ronaldo in the 6th and now Ronaldo lands the uppercut in the 11th with his SF performance.

Just needs to end it with a CL victory like how Joshua stopped him.

Historic just historic from ronaldo....Years after the world will talk about this perfo

Imo this is one of the greatest perfo in CL if not the greatest.....The perfo came against a top quality defensive unit like atletico and inform keeper like oblak who saved everything comes on his way recently

Who were the majority you are mentioning here for your information ronaldo is the most followed sportsman in the earth let alone as a footballer...by your logic those majority in the world doesn't have any idea about football as like you.And if you need professionals someone in the likes of mourinho, ancelotti,SAF even maradona rates ronaldo over messi so all those are lurches in your view

Their is nothing to accept as if you were the only one watching the game, you are just a ronaldo obsessed guy which is crying in one part of the world whatever he did but its a great feeling seeing his perfo's burning you guys like this

You keep hating he keep replaying....this is why i love ronaldo

Back to back Hattrick against two of the best goalkeepers right now...just ronaldo things

Ronaldo is evolving into the best number 9 in the world. He doesn't have the same pace and power anymore as he gets older, but he will continue to retain his goal scoring instincts and intelligence in the box. It is time for Madrid to sell Benzema, move Ronaldo to the middle and spend money on Hazard.

fifth, and a fully deserved Ballon d'Or on its way.

Pretty tight race between him and Messi for the Ballon D'Or but if Real Madrid win the UCL,Ronaldo should win.

Hate both teams Barca and Madrid, full of actors rather than footballers. Messi is a more complete footballer but Ronaldo is a better individual. Season by season comparison Ronaldo has been better than Messi this season.

Only thing that goes against Messi is that he's a one man club. If he moved to PL and banged 30+ goals then you'd know who's the GOAT.

Superb player, one of the greatest ever. His versatility is superb and the best thing is that unlike Rooney from a few years ago, he's the best at multiple positions and not simply a jack of all trades. Deserves a 5th Player of the Year award.

It's best for the game if this is the last time one of Messi or Ronaldo win that award though. It's gotten slightly boring and soccer needs new stars.

Football has other stars, just none as good as these two.

I back Neymar,Asensio or Dybala to win one in the next few years or Hazard if he moves to Spain.

They're all overshadowed by these two. Of course, this might sound like a ridiculous complaint and Ronaldo and Messi deserve everything they have coming their way but in my opinion, it would be great for the game if the top three ranked players for the Ballon d'Or are Ozil, Hazard and Neymar.

Lol where did Ozil come from? He's definitely a great player but not top 3 or top 5 material.

Real has sold Morata - what I see is Zizu will make CR centre forward, flanked by 3 attakers just behind (Bale, Benzema, Isco) & 2 solid CMs for a 4-2-3-1 formation, with Mordic pulling strings from centre of field.

If Mabappe joins, he might go to 442; but one thing for sure - CR is going to score 30+ goals in La Liga next year, if heremains fit at 33 for full season.

He'll win it for sure - won the top 2 titles in club football.

There was an article on CR's leg in Daily Mail few days back. He is still the supreme fit forward at 32 & he will continue for 4/5 years at least. I see him spear heading Reals' attack as centre forward from next season. Might not win the Ballon D Orr again, but a good chance of European season golden boot.
