UK’s Sikh community pledges to inject £500m into Pakistan to promote religious tourism

British Sikh's are set to invest 500 million in Pakistan to show their gratitude for Pak opening the Kartarpur border. So overwhelmed are they that have decided to help the country financially during these tough times in the land of Baba Nanak saheb. This is just a "drop in the ocean" by what the Sikh's plan in future years. Naturally, certain people are very unhappy about this.

Sikhs have emotional and historic ties to Punjab region of Pakistan, it is understandable they want to see those cities and towns which they lost access to following partition. I wish them good luck in their efforts.

I am always dubious about the pledges but lets hope it comes to fruition. If it does become successful, then watch some Ind/AFG proxy try to attack it.

Yea i also think these are only pledges and nothing is gonna happen on ground but i hope Zulfi prove me wrong the guy got connections in UK business community.

Lets see if this is just a PR or something tangible. All businessman want a return and i cant see that in this sort of investment.

Sikh's are honest and hard working people. We need to encourage them and fulfil our side of the deal. If we do that then Sikh's from other countries like Canada and America will start contributing as well. Pak Sikh's are very patriotic let there be no doubt about that.

there's a sizable community of London sikhs who fairly dominate the building trade, esp around east London, from supplies, to transport, construction, etc. they have done very well for themselves.

I dont know why there is a lot of love for these sikhs in Pakistani punjabis besides the fact that these sikhs butchered 2 million+ Punjabi muslims. Ferozepur, Ludhiana, hoshiarpur, Gurdaspur, Jallundhar, ambala, karnal, dehli all were loaded with the bodies of muslims.

Its shame that fore some cheap bucks they want to reunite with snakes.

Atrocities were committed by all. Bewal had a large Sikh presence and crimes were committed by our community.. Nobody came out well.

A big no for your claim, yes, there were some random incidents happened in west but only few. There were force displacement but not the type of killing that had happened in east.
In west mostly hindus & sikhs left bcz of fear of the circumstances & for the love for their new religious land.

Do you seriously believe that violence was one sided? Was there any Sikh-Muslim tension in pre-partition era in undivided Punjab area? Do not go far back to Aurangzeb era to look for violence. Do you know Jinnah was close to and was in talks with Sikh leaders to join Pakistan? Do you have a Sikh majority district in Pakistani Punjab? Like Indian Punjab has Maler-Kotla. Likes of Kohli and Dhawan come from such displaced families, do they spew hatred towards Pakistanis?

Only in Mirpur & honestly even in Mirpur riots mostly are the mythical stories. I havent seen any picture of west punjab where vultures & dogs eating human bodies.
