This is an Ultimate Guide for Perfecting Your Batting Skills.

ENSURING THE GRIP

The first thing to do in batting is to hold the bat and then grip it and that should be easy.

This is the correct way to hold a bat.

Lay the bat in front of you on the ground or floor with the handle pointing towards you and flat side of the bat face down and grip the bat from the middle of the handle with both ‘v’s pointing down the back of the bat.

FACING UP TO THE BOWLER: THE STANCE

The batsman`s stance tells you instantly whether the batsman is a left or right hander and the stance is all about maintaining good balance. If your stance is relaxed and comfortable, you can – in theory – easily stay in the middle and bat for hours, scoring runs. At least, that’s your aim!

Keeping the head still is also considered a key in the stance because this allows both eyes to point directly down the pitch at the bowler and Don`t tilt your head! Make sure your eye is level!

This is a stance for right and left handers

THE BACK LIFT

The back lift is the movement the batsman makes with the hands lifting the bat and preparing to propel it towards the ball. In order to get power and timing into the shot, the batsman lifts the bat behind their back and brings it down in a pendulum motion to meet the ball when it reaches to him or her.
Always take the bat virtually straight back towards the wicketkeeper

Here how your back lift should look like.

DEFENSIVE SHOTS

Front Foot Defensive Shots

The idea of a front foot defense shot is to get forward and smother the ball and front foot defensive shot are played on good or full length.

Back Foot Defensive Shots

Again, the idea of Back foot defensive shot is to smother the ball, however, this time the batsman is moving back and across towards off stump. Don`t move too far back or you may be out hit wicket by standing on your stumps

This show you how to execute a front foot defensive shot and back foot defensive shots

This is is Part 2 of my tutorial

LEG GLANCE

The leg glance is a batsman`s bread and butter shot. Play leg glance well you will make lots of easy runs but it is very risky. The Leg Glance is best played to full or good length deliveries, pitching on or outside leg stump. The key to the leg glance is to turn the wrist holding the bat towards the leg side.

This will show how to do a leg glance

PULL AND HOOK SHOT

Pull and hook shots are a great way to take on fast bowlers who may be trying to intimidate you by bowling short balls that bounce up at the body or head. A Pull shot is usually played off the back foot to a rising delivery.

This will show how to a pull shot and a hook shot

THE CUT SHOT

A cut shot is a punishing stroke that can unsettle a bowler if played well and cut shots are played well against short of a length delivery pitching well outside the batsman off stump.

Here show how to do a cut shot

THE SWEEP SHOT

The sweep is a relatively a safe shot which can take heavy toll against slow bowlers when used wisely and a sweep shot results from a full length delivery from spin bowler. The batsman moves their front foot forwards to get in line with the spot where the ball likely to pitch.

Here show how to do the sweep shot

I RECOMMEND

NEVER TRY: Premeditated shots (Extremely risky it will expose your stumps)

PRACTICE MORE ON: Straight Shot (it is an important aspect in batting)

GIVE ME A RATING OUT OF OUT OF 10 ( I Give myself 9)

THAT’S THE END OF MY TUTORIAL AND PLEASE COMMENT ABOUT THIS
