Why is he even a topic to discuss? Move on. His career should be effectively over after all those fitness and disciplinary breaches.

But he will pass the 8th test lols. Rubbish attitude has ruined him.

Absolutely embarrassing for Umar. He needs to knuckle down and concentrate on cricket and improving his fitness.

The issue really is that it's Misbah's fault, by making akmal play lower down the order, and demotivating him..... or something like that.

Even if he was fit, he's still mediocre.

His only chance to be something would have been to open him and now he's so far gone that he's not even able to pass a fitness test that Inzi could pass.

More details to come......in the interview I did with Mickey Arthur recently.

Can't be true - he failed 7 of the last 8 fitness test. He definitely passed one that "allowed" Inzi to pick him for CT.

He is rightly dropped.

But it is quite unbelievable that He has failed his Last 7 fitness Tests while currently having this physique

Something is really wrong with him. Either his mind is completely shot ie He his arrogance attitude doesn't allow him to give his 100 % under the Master (Trainer) (Coaches) or He has some disease God forbif like GOUT in initial stage.

If None of these than there might be a case of him being dropped on discipline grounds.

How can you fail 7 out of 7 ?

Physique means nothing. I know of people with muscles and sick packs and still fall on their backs within 5 minutes of hard core Cardio training.

Umar's problem must definitely be his Cardio Vascular fitness and he was badly huffing and puffing in the fitness tests.

He has lost weight. That isn't possible without diet and cardio.

How many Cricketers with such physique will fail 7/7 fitness tests ? None.

Either He doesn't give his all in fitness tests due to his mind powers or he has got some injury. Imran Nazir is a prime example anyhow he is making a comeback. He had Gout but physique wise he looked perfect.

Something is Seriously wrong.

The proof of the pudding is in the pudding itself, we saw Umar huffing and puffing in the videos of the fitness tests. We was the worst out of all the team mates.

Will see from sajs interview but am sure if we didnt have mickey a weaker coach would have brushed over the fitness which in the long run harms akmal more than anyone else. Tough love needed for fatty

Bhai he doesn't eat pudding only water with a bit of ghulab jaman for taste

This is the great tragedy

All this focus on fitness and criticism on fitness takes away from the fact that his cricketing output is terrible. The focus is taken away from his mediocre cricketing ability. Even if he was as fit as Kohli, with his current performances hedoesnt make the team

After all these years and these incidents, I have come to the conclusion that he is simply too unintelligent to thrive in a professional environment. He is a lost cause and people should not pin their hopes on him any longer. Attitude problem and stupidity don't go hand-in-hand. For example, Shehzad has attitude problems as well, but compared to Umar, he is Einstein.

Well said. Atleast True for the Present and Past 5-6 years.

Don't think Shehzad has attitude issues as such. People mistake his don't take crap from anyone and say it as it is as attitude

He does have attitude problems, but the problem was the he clashed with Waqar who himself has an inflated ego. Under Arthur, Shehzad won't have any such issues, because the former knows how to handle people. He is a professional unlike Waqar.

But then shouldn't this be a Stigma on Waqar. If Shehzad is having troubles with Waqar but no problems with Arthur then clearly it indicates that the problem might be somewhere else?

Keep in mind that Shehzad plays for T-20 leagues and in the PSL as well with foreign players and no one has complained about him whereas Waqar has a rich history of infighting with his players as player, then captain and now as coach. It clearly shows that the later has people skills problems.

Shehzad had issues in the U-19 team as well, and Waqar had nothing to do with it. However, Waqar deserves blame for the fact that he failed in handling him.

Different people have different personalities, and someone like Shehzad will never be like Azhar or Shafiq, and getting rid of him on disciplinary grounds is not the solution. You need a good man-manager - a true professional - to handle personalities. Anyone can keep manage a herd of sheep.

This guy just makes me laugh every time he appears in the news :))) how can you fail 7 fitness tests? :))) And this guy wears bootcut jeans

He's a lost cause and should be forgotten about completely, we've got more choices than this waste of space.

I don't understand when people say "oh so and so have attitude problem". What part of his attitude is the problem? Does he not standup to greet the coach when the coach enters the room? Does he not say Inshallah Bismillah Mashallah before every sentence? Does he have far too much self-belief?

If cricketer is working hard on his game and fitness and trying to produce results for the team then nobody should question their "attitude" even if they have a little bit of arrogance about themselves.

P.S this is not meant for Shehzad but we keep hearing how PCB calls every other cricketer to have "attitude" problem. Maybe the babus at PCB want the cricketers to treat them as some sort of king.

His so called attitude problems are only hyped by the media and by an egoistic ex legendary cricketer who wants to be treated as a king and not spoken back too.

Failed 7 out of 7 proper fitness tests, not the farcical test at the NCA before the Champions Trophy.

2 tests in England
5 previous fitness tests also

I work in an office and spend most of my leisure time watching TV. And yet if you gave me 7 attempts, even I would probably be able to pass one of these fitness tests eventually. The guy is a joke.

The problem is that the PCB uses people like Misbah, Azhar, Shafiq etc. as gold-standards. Not everyone is an Allah Mia ki gai. Attitude covers a very broad spectrum, which includes both professional and personal behaviour. Attitude is a bigger issue in Pakistan than other countries because we have not been good at managing individuals. People like Kohli and Stokes etc. would have had 'show-cause notices' on their doors all the time if they were playing for the PCB. That is why it is very important to have a professional coach calling the shots.
