What's new

Umer Khan is the best slow left-armer I've seen in T20s after Raza Hasan (when he was at his peak)

What an idiot imad waseem is first of all he only bowled 1 over then he plays umer and didnt get an over destroying a players career imad is

Umer Khan has shown everything I personally like to see in a player. Good game awareness, thinking brain, passion, gives his all doesnt get overwhelmed if he is hit around along with skills to achieve what he wants.

There is absolutely no reason he cant be part of Pak T20 squad and eventually ODIs and probably tests too.

I want him to play in the WT20 this year, but it seems there's no space for him.

He should definitely play the 2021 WT20 which is in India.

Imad will be useless in AUS.

Umer should replace Imad as a true spinner and wicket-taker.

Clever bowler.

He changes his pace smartly, uses the crease well, differing angles, changes his grip.

A smart operator.

This kid is really a very smart bowler.. he doesn't shy away from giving flight to the ball & always get wickets by provoking batters for big shots.

He is no Ravindra Jadeja, will only do well against us and Zimbabwe.

He is also 20 years of age.

Spinners develop much later compared to fast-bowlers or batsmen. They reach their maturity around 27 and peak shortly after.

Ravindra Jadeja is an ordinary LOI spinner with ODI bowling average of 36. What exactly is the point you are trying to make?

Bowls a bit like a chinaman
Definitely has more of a spring compared to asghar and gohar

Was searching for something on Umer K on PP. Really happy to see this thread. Is he on the radar of our saviour Misbah ul Haq?

Looks like a very smart bloke, stable personality and got some wiles already. Looks very young too so even if I “adjust” for some age discrepancy looks like he’d 22 max.

Any idea whether he would have been a part of WT20 squad? What does PP make of Imad Wasim (that innings against AFG notwithstanding I think he’s been living on past glory for a long time now).

Looked off color in this season of National T20 Cup unlike the way he has been performing in PSL. Hopefully Saqlain and other high performance coaches are seeing areas of improvement which they can work upon and he himself needs to push himself to take his game to the next level.

Tbh I have never been impressed by him. Doesn't spin the ball much. Can't bat much though decent in test for no 9.

He does spin it a bit and more if conditions help however, his pace variations, accuracy and intelligence to deceive the batsmen are the aspects which impressed me.

To be honest most finger spinners have struggled in this tournament but, thats no excuse for not performing better especially when he does have the ability to be better than this.

Maybe he has started to take it bit too easy, needs to push himself otherwise he will start to go off the radar.

Hawkeye kept going on about how he’s a million times better than Imad who has been one of the best T20s bowlers in the world for a while now.

Another great prediction by him. What’s happened to Umer now?

Lol classic hype machine based off a few overs.

Oh dear. He was the victim of the hype brigade. Probably a good thing that he got exposed before he saw international cricket.

He had a flop PSL this season as well. He was just a UAE basher like Muhammad Nawaz

I suppose espn’s data analytics team is also part of the hype brigade then?

He has potential. Will hone his craft in some years and be spectacular.

Very raw but i liked his temperament. He has killer instinct which is very good quality to have

Ofcourse he has to performed but still very young and time on his side .Hopefully he is back to his best soon

Raza Hasan was a much better talent.

Yes he was but don’t remember any other Pakistani SLA having such an impact in a T20 tournament and that too that involved overseas players like Umer Khan did in PSL 2019. Unfortunately havent really lived upto the reputation afterwards.
