Indians looked all flat. No grind no determination. Everyone laughing while the screen showed bowl had not touched stokes and review is gone. Pant being lazy. Rmr they lost the match that could ve been at least saved. 2 3 more wkts, some excellent fielding, some excellent field placement or anything. Jadeja was being reverse swept like he owe them something(he did get stokes but still u can't just do same thing again and again).

Do you think India lacked the aura of kohli era just in this match or its just how this new crop of nice boys are going to play in future or maybe gill effect?

As a cricket fan how do you see this approach when your team is losing a hard fought test match on day 5

Also bumrah is not going to play all the matches so one star is already down. Pant is one they can count on maybe.

It is simply jaiswal's fault for laughing like a 🤡.

He has single handidely changed the attitude of the team. Wouldn't be surprised if he starts to change their physique to match his.

Gill, Pant, and Siraj were laughing/smiling for no reason half the time. I think Jaiswal was even dancing at one point and this is after dropping three catches.:murali

Reminded me of Rizwan's antics.

Nasser even mentioned that Prasidh not throwing the ball in properly, and later he did it again without being told off. There's no way Rohit/Kohli would have ignored it if they were on the field.

Gill should improve a lot.he is too softy and behaved like a kitten. He should have talked sternly to fielders to be more pro active or ask jadeja to figure out the length quickly outside the rough.jadeja took eternal to get in to groove. Gill should shed his image and be more proactive. Gambhir seems to be completely unaware of any tactics in sena test matches. I wonder what Morkel, Ryan are doing with that part.

Gavaskar should ask Pant for a backflip because things backfired here for India.. losing a game even after having a number of centurions. Bumrah looked toothless once again when it mattered the most.

No excuse for the lack of passion.

Having said that, it wasn't a surface that provided a lot of help.

We should have ideally batted England out of this match which we failed to do losing 13 wickets for 70 runs in a high scoring game.

This is a low intensity tour compared to the high intensity and high class cricket that has been played during the recent IPL.

It will be difficult for players to be motivated. They are used to playing in large grounds like Narendra Modi Stadium Infront of 100k people, Headingley was like playing in a local park.

For England taking down the 4th largest economy and a team of GOATs and Future GOATs, and the greatest fast bowler of all time provided them with extra incentive and motivation.

Gill should spend some time with Yograj Singh. :inti

I think we will make a comeback, Gambhir will definitely take the leadership group to task.
The reason we lost this match is fielding, we dropped around 8-9 catches, that’s terrible on such a flat pitch where chances weren’t coming easily.

Jaiswal should be removed from slips and asked to work on fielding.

For the remainder of the series, we need to pick aggressive batsman and 4 proper bowlers, 3 pacers plus kuldeep or 4 proper pacers.

Reddy should replace Nair, I would still stick with Jadeja, Rana and Akashdeep should come in for Shardul and Siraj/Prasidh.

Lower order batting is still an issue but with Rana and Akashdeep in the side we can make it better..

Highly doubt it. India will be stronger for sure, but so will England. England now have a feel of Indian bowlers in general.

This is why I am always hesistant on relying on 1st match test matches in a 5 match series as 1st matches, both opponents are getting a feel of one another.

India will improve bit its naive to think england won't.

Duckett, Brooks, Root, Smith and Stokes. This is an atg side in SENA conditions(Excluding aus where they will likely struggle)

Only weak links are pope and Crawley who are just okay. Not bad but their not top tier or anything.

Bowling is weak but England's batting is similar to 2000's India where despite a crappie bowling attack, their batting was strong enough to ensure a draw or wins and even beat classic Australia on occasion.

Ps: Not stating this england = to that india. India was obviously stronger as they could function in any den while this england side is mostly a UK and NZ bully.

Gambhir has now lost around 8 test matches as coach. Maybe the problem is with him, his selections and handling of senior players hasn't been that inspiring either in comparison to Shastri or Dravid

Gambhir is a rubbish coach. He was a good batsman but thinks too highly of himself and got massive ego. BCCI should have approached Ricky Ponting as the coaching role when Dravid left.

Ricky Ponting as coach 🤣. Why would he coach India? 😭

No one will reject India coaching job obviously due to money.

Most importantly, I fight Ponting very committed coach based on his IPL stint. He is not one of those who just sit in dressing room and takes money. He gives his 100% and takes pride in result. Very underrated coach.

The problem with Ghambir is that he's adopting india's classic 2000's model not realising that said model wont work in this ers.

The old model of rubbish bowlers with an over dependence on one star pacer, followed by a compact batting lineup wont work in this era where england forces results.

Secondly that batting lineup composed of sehwag, Ganguly, Sachin, Dravid, Laxman. These 5 could ensure draws or wins despite a rubbish bowling attack.

It won't work when england is going into each game with the mindset of scoring 800 per innings.

I'm aware, hes the reason Australia recovered from 2011 and become a world class 2015 side due to him constantly mentoring Clarke during this time period.

If inzamam became coach Indian team won’t get out of restaurants & Take aways they’re already slacking lately.

Yes, he could definitely do that but be ready to avoid Aussies in the finals.
