Akash Deep’s fiery spell rattled England on Day 4, but it’s his dismissal of Joe Root that’s got everyone talking—for reasons beyond the stumps flying.

While the delivery that bowled Root was an absolute peach, some commentators and fans are questioning its legality. Akash’s back foot may have touched the return crease—potentially making it a no-ball under MCC Law 21.5.1. Yet, the on-field umpires didn’t spot it, and Root was sent packing.

Ravi Shastri, on the other hand, believes the delivery was fair. So now the debate is on: Was it a legal dismissal or a missed no-ball call?

What do you think—should technology be used more rigorously to monitor foot placement? Or is this just part of the game’s human element?

There was a question asked (justifiably) if Akashdeep’s back foot had landed in a way that would deem it a no-ball before it went on to beat Joe Root’s stroke and knocked back the off stump.
It’s now been confirmed that as long as the FIRST touch of the bowler’s back foot when it lands INSIDE the return crease, it is a fair delivery!
So there was no issue in the end with the dismissal - it did raise the possibility of a major controversy!

End of conspiracy theories . Next please :kp

no surprises that the indian commentator saw it fair.

Temu Tendulkar was lucky to have survived for so long after multiple close LBW misses. Finally Akashdeep, best seamer going around, put him in his place.

Had to leave Bihar due to BCA ban.

Took 3 year break at 23 after father’s paralytic attack.

Lost father & elder brother within 2 months.

Survived a career-threatening back injury.

But Akash Deep never gave up.

Not a single pakistani fan made a comment against him on this thread?

So what are you on about?
Then check all other threads you'll know everything. I know it already that's why I said. :kp

Assuming this is correct, then this thread should have been closed by now.

@BouncerGuy As a mod of a cricketing forum, you should confirm this post and close this thread or reply to this post with facts and cricketing laws/rules with links to continue the debate instead of waiting for usual trolls to hijack this thread and get 100+ posts bashing back and forth between two nations.

You posted a question, the question was answered in next post by @Devadwal clearing any doubts or controversies which could come from this thread.

Since MenInG and Saj stopped being active, and you guys came along TP section has turned into YouTube comment troll fest and now you are bringing the same to cricket forum by starting these threads to let trolls take over, the quality of discussions on PP is degrading by such threads especially when they are started by moderators. You can see the result of this many good Indian posters have quit PP and you are left with the trolls who counter Pakistani trolls. If that’s the way you want PP to survive by becoming YouTube comment section then keep doing what you are doing.
