Unlike Indian team, Pakistan bowlers do not complement the batters

Indian team hasn't score 200 even once and its captain is also effectively failing in batting

Nevertheless, no personal attacks by the Indian experts on TV or elsewhere

Why?

Because they are still winning

Their bowlers are supporting their batters

Pakistani team has a bowling issue but our experts continue to attack the batters only.

I have never seen a Pak TV expert giving a value-added opinion - neither as a commentator during a game (that could be due to linguistic issues) or as an expert after the game...

Toxicity and negativity brings more views. There are 5-6 mainstream TV channels running expert opinion panels and 100s of youtube channels all competeing for same viewers.

There has clearly been an OTT hit agenda against the Pakistan batters right since the day the AC squad was announced by journalists, some prominent ex cricketers and social media handles because Pakistan didn’t select Babar and Rizwan.

Every day/match since there has been a couple of players that are being targeted on a rotational basis by these toxic agenda pedlars because they must somehow bring a couple of players down to try and pave the way for their two favourites to return.

It started with Nawaz, Harris….moved to Fakhar, Sahibzada….sometimes a bit of Saim….key target Agha…back to Harris and now Talat. Each one of these guys will perform here and there for Pakistan to win, and they will then target the ones that didn’t perform on that occasion.

According to this lot, one day the opening pair should be Babar and Rizwan…then the next day they will come up with excuses as to how Babar would be suited to the middle order and Rizwan can be the number 6 finisher/power hitter. The way the goal posts shift every match for them is ridiculous.

India gets criticised all the time Whether you do well or not. It doesn't matter. Even after world cup final. There were heaps of criticisim against Pant for a reckless shot. They got criticized when Gill was picked ahead of Jaiswal, Iyer. They got criticized when Gil was promoted up the order while dropping Sanju down unfairly. The Bumrah experiment of 3 overs, SKY's failures since he became the captain everything get criticized.

I bet you if we analyze time spent by the Pak experts on TV shows, the politics will get 40 seconds of very minute they talk.

I think in India, on the internet they might be critical of players but on the mainstream TV screens they are mindful to not make it personal - but you know better because I don't follow Indian cricket that much

In Pakistan there are below the belt personal attacks on players on mainstream TV.

Almost all the large Pak TV channels have ownership stakes in the PSL. They want their club players to be in Pak 11. They are particularly vicious against the players who left their team to join another.

When it comes to cricket, Pakistanis seem to fight among each other a lot. They do it more than other desis.

Again, I can be wrong. But, this has been my observation.

Ahmed Shehzad is esp bad. He is bitter all the time. Has a one-track agenda against Babar. In every programme, he has to mention Babar. Bachay ki ab jaan lo gey kya!!

They do it’s because majority stock is Panjabi.

If Brampton and Mississauga had one cricket team this will be it and all politics.

When I was playing league cricket in GTA, I saw so many fights and argument. LOL.

Pretty ridiculous to behave like this over a sport.

Well Babar and Rizwan cost us 2 world cups so yeah most of us are bitter towards them.

The recent bowling performance has rightly come under scrutiny, but the usual suspects have once again shifted the focus to Babar and Rizwan. Since they've brought it up, let's address that head-on before returning to the main point.

In past, the tendency to blame Babar and Rizwan regardless of the actual match situation was a clear pattern. For instance:

In the 2021 T20 World Cup semi-final, we posted a competitive 176 against Australia. The loss was primarily due to poor bowling and fielding at the death, yet the backlash was primarily directed at the batsmen.

Similarly, in the 2024 WC loss to the USA, Amir's super over cost us the match. However, the "agenda merchants" ignored this and framed the defeat solely as a failure of Babar and Rizwan. Now that the bowlers have had poor games, these same voices are blaming them instead of the batsmen, revealing their inconsistent and biased narratives.

Returning back to the main topic:

For years, our bowling has been inconsistent and has cost us critical matches. The fundamental problem is that we lack a world-class bowling unit that can reliably defend totals or restrict opponents, especially under pressure.

This stands in stark contrast to a team like India, which currently possesses a powerful bowling attack for these conditions. Their bowlers frequently cover up for any batting shortcomings. When India's batting fails, it's usually not a major collapse, so their bowlers have a manageable target to defend. However, when our batting fails, it often plummets to a total that is far below par. This places immense pressure on our bowling attack, which, being decent at best, often cannot bridge the large gap created by the batting collapse.

Fans are also partly responsible. IN order to keep going harder, Pakistan has redesigned its team setup by loading the side with "all-rounders". That is what fans wanted. So obviously, batting has to pull more weight than bowling. IF you want bowlers to pull the weights, you have to go back to your old setup of 4 of your best bowlers, regardless of their batting ability. Abrar, Muqeem, Rauf, SHaheen. IN recent times bowlers outbatted batsmen atleast on three occasions. SHaheen twice, Rauf once.

2021 WC semi-final was lost due to Hassan Ali's dropped catch. That was decisive. Also, Shaheen bowled a bad over in the end (Wade hit 3 sixes). Also, it was Australia being Australia. They can win out of nowhere. They have done it so many times.

Current batters in the Pakistan team are not complementing the bowlers atm..This is what we should say... Because Nawaz and Shaheen are not batters, and they did a better job than most of the other over-hyped guys in the team.

Pakistani bowlers despite not being that special have done well, the Pakistani batting line deserves all the criticism bar Farhan and to some extent Fakhar who for one reason or another (bouncer, umpire decision, amazing catch etc) has not quite scored heavily enough.

I think Pakistan bowlers have done well in this format
Pakistan bowlers have done well with bat as well. Apart from farhan m ost of the impact runs came from no.7 or batsmen below for pakistan. Not top 6. Top 6 strike rate is pitiful 108 for pakistan. INtent merchants. Bottom 5 strike ratre of pakistan is 162. Basically they have gone from bad to worse as far as top 6 goes
