US attack on Iran: New phase of confrontation (2025 version)

Pakistan should give one nuclear to Iran and one two Bangladesh under the condition they could only be used in defensive moves or in any capacity against India.

Not a problem at all.

Pakistan is capable of sending a missile to every corner of India regardless of if we can intercept them. So it doesn’t matter if Bangladesh , Afghan, Iran have them. If it exists within this region it’s all the same for us.

That being said we have demonstrated way better Missile interception and our own missiles are way better so a clear advantage to us in the nukes game hence the calmness. The devastation India can potentially cause in the entire continent is something everyone is aware of. Our nukes would have hit Lahore, Karachi, Shanghai and Beijing before the debris of Pakistani Chinese nukes would have fallen within their own borders.

Lastly no one in India is scared of nukes like the Yanks lol.

People have no idea how crazy and warm welcoming this nation is.

Man you can't trust any of these politicians. What is there to negotiate now? Also, I don't buy US won't involve anymore. That's dumb to believe that.

I appreciate your sentiments even though I disagree but I just want to clarify I am not advocating giving anything to Afghanistan. They have caused enough havoc with just machine gun and sandals. If you give them nukes they can do unpredictable things and perhaps even launch one to celebrate a wedding of their commander.

Um no IND absolutely would not want nuclear threat from West, East, as well as North/China. It's not the biggest player in the region anymore, China is.

Nobody other than US is ever going to use nukes. Pakistan army maybe a control freak and extremely selfish but even they won’t ever use a nuke and Indian-wont ever create a situation they have to.

I never mind anything coming from Bangladesh. They have no idea what power is and they have no idea what war is. They go on a hindu killing spree on the streets and feel they’re war ready. If that helps them sleep better good for them.

Bangladeshis aren’t up for any war.

Pakistanis have fought too many wars with us to understand not doing certain things. Indians mind their business until you do something silly like killing people on the basis of religion. That kind of stuff genuinely makes us mad.

The world remains on edge as it awaits Iran’s response to what President Donald Trump declared a “spectacular military success” — U.S. airstrikes that “completely obliterated” Iran’s key nuclear sites at Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. The attacks marked the most significant Western military intervention in Iran since the 1979 revolution, prompting Tehran to launch another wave of missiles at Israel, injuring civilians and destroying buildings in Tel Aviv. While Iran has yet to strike directly at U.S. assets or block oil routes, Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi warned retaliation was inevitable, ruling out diplomacy until after a response. Meanwhile, the U.N. Security Council was set to convene at Iran’s request to address what Tehran deems a flagrant violation of international law.

Despite the strikes’ intensity, U.S. officials have reiterated that the mission was narrowly focused on neutralising Iran’s nuclear threat, not triggering regime change. Still, tensions escalated as Iran’s parliament approved a proposal to close the Strait of Hormuz, a vital global oil artery. Israel, which initiated the conflict on June 13, has since launched attacks that killed hundreds and devastated Iran’s leadership. As fears of broader war grow, Iranian citizens report mass evacuations, and global oil markets brace for disruption. While President Trump received praise from Israeli leaders, international calls for restraint are mounting, with concerns that further escalation could ignite a regional catastrophe.

After 10 days of relentless attacks on Iran, including US strikes on key nuke sites, Israel likely achieved most of its military objectives

It's time for ceasefire now . :kp

Iran is hammering Israel hence the American reaction. The question is does Iran have the guts to bomb American bases in the Gulf?. If so Russia and China won't be happy about it. Putin is already very mad about the Americans bombing Iran.

Bangladesh might not know anything about power nor is it seeking one, but it sure as hell knows a thing or two about war(s). The days of previous administration making BD militarily depended and weak is over. Although, its not looking to invest heavily militarily, it sure as hell will get massive upgrades in the coming years.

Indians love crying about Pakistan apparently being run by the Military…

How do you explain this now? I can guarantee, this would have been the same procedure if anyone was president.
Yeah the same way obama conducted his war operations. Where were these congressmen and congress women then? And coming from a terroristy rashida talib - yeah right lol..

US military official slams Israel as a 'death cult' and the country's 'worst ally'

A senior officer at the Pentagon has come under scrutiny over a series of social media posts sharply critical of Israel, its leadership, and US foreign policy in the region.

Colonel Nathan McCormack, who leads the Levant and Egypt branch at the Joint Chiefs of Staff’s J5 planning directorate, has used a semi-anonymous account to post numerous comments targeting Israeli actions and US support.

The posts, reportedly written since the 7 October 2023, have sparked outrage among pro-Israel circles in Washington. The story was first reported by the Jewish News Syndicate.

Here’s what he said:

  • “Netanyahu and his Judeo-supremacist cronies are determined to prolong the conflict for their own goals: either to remain in power or to annex the land.”
  • “Israel’s actions over decades have prompted the accusations of ethnic cleansing and genocide.”
  • “The Western states go to great lengths to avoid criticism of Israel, much out of Holocaust guilt.”
  • “Our worst ‘ally.’ We get literally nothing out of the ‘partnership’ other than the enmity of millions of people in the Middle East, Africa and Asia.”
  • “The US has not been an honest broker. We have overwhelmingly enabled Israel’s bad behavior.”
  • Responding to the idea of relocating Gaza’s population, McCormack wrote that Israel wants “to expel them and cleanse ‘Eretz Israel’ (Greater Israel) of ethnic Palestinians.”
  • Since June 2024 he also called Israel a “death cult”
McCormack has held his current Pentagon post since June 2024, according to his LinkedIn profile. Shortly after the report was published the Pentagon told Jewish News Syndicate it is “aware of the situation” and “looking into the matter”.

Israel has the same problem as India.

While both share life through the Swatsika, the reality is neither can afford a nuclear war because nukes on Israel and India mean then destruction of the one and only homelands for Judaism and Hinduism respectively. 10M on one side, 1.4B on the other.

Israel and India are bullies and all you have to do is stand up to them. First Pakistan pistol-whipped India, now Iran pistol-whipped Israel.

They know this deep down. The difference between An Islamic bomb, A Jewish bomb, and a Hindu bomb is simply the Islamic bomb lives to see another day.

Its astonishing how Indians have been behaving online. Letting go of half a century old alliances due to their vile Islamophobia. In Iran Israel they should have been neutral especially due to their billions investment in Chahbahar and the crucial role the port will play for India especially when it comes to China, yet these people can't let go of their Muslim hate.

It's why their online hateful army, acting on how their leader behaves, are wild online. And the fruits of it is shown in the utterly isolation India faces in its neighborhood.

One has nothing to do with the other. If the US wants to declare war on another country, it needs the approval of Congress. This is not the same.

Well by seeing the behavior of people like @Devadwal @Bhaijaan its pretty evident they are enjoying the Muslims being killed at their fullest, doesnt matter if its in Palestine, or Iran or anywhere else (may be except Indian Muslims) ..

The level of delusions in some of the posts here are mind boggling. No wonder some posters, some awaam live in a parallel fantasy land .

Iran is not a saint in the region unfortunately. Iran IS a bully in the ME.

Let’s not be naive, just ask our Syrian friends.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has now confirmed that the Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan Nuclear Facilities in Iran were targeted during last night’s strikes by the U.S. Air Force, with extensive damage being reported at all three sites, though the extent of the damage to Fordow and Natanz is currently unknown due to a vast majority of both complexes being located underground. Additionally, the IAEA states that it has been informed by Iranian regulating authorities that no increase in off-site radiation levels have been detected at any of the nuclear sites targeted in Central Iran.

Don't worry Iran is cowards and won't even think to attack on USA assets .

Australia says it supports US strike, calls for return to diplomacy

Australia's Foreign Minister Penny Wong said on Monday that Canberra supported the United States strike on Iran and called for de-escalation and a return to diplomacy.

"We support action that the U.S. has taken to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon," Wong said in a television interview with Seven Sunrise.

In a series of television and radio interviews on Monday, Wong said the strike was a unilateral action by its security ally the United States, and Australia was joining calls from Britain and other countries for Iran to return to the negotiating table.

"We do not want to see escalation," she told reporters in Canberra.

There are around 2,900 Australians in Iran and 1,300 in Iraq who are seeking to leave.

Australia closed its embassy in Tehran on Friday, after Wong spoke with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
Australia has suspended bus evacuations from Israel after the U.S. strike on Iran's nuclear facilities, but is making preparations for potential evacuations if air space in Israel re-opens, Wong said.

Australia said it has sent two defence planes to the Middle East in non-combat roles to assist civilian evacuations.

New Zealand's Foreign Minister Winston Peters said on Sunday he was examining the evidence surrounding Iran's nuclear enrichment programme, while Prime Minister Christopher Luxon called for a return to dialogue, Radio New Zealand reported.

All you need to do is answer in a simple yes or no - simple as that. Guess comprehension is not your strongest suit

I have no idea what you’re trying to ask.
The way you construct your sentences makes comprehension a bit difficult.

Iran issues warning to 'gambler' Trump: We will end this war

ISTANBUL/WASHINGTON/JERUSALEM, June 23 (Reuters) - Iran said on Monday that the U.S. attack on its nuclear sites expanded the range of legitimate targets for its armed forces and called U.S. President Donald Trump a "gambler" for joining Israel's military campaign against the Islamic Republic.

Since Trump joined Israel's campaign by dropping massive bunker-buster bombs on Iranian nuclear sites on Sunday morning, Iran has repeatedly threatened to retaliate.

But while it has continued to fire missiles at Israel, it has yet to take action against the United States itself, either by firing at U.S. bases or by targeting the 20% of global oil shipments that pass near its coast at the mouth of the Gulf.

"Mr Trump, the gambler, you may start this war, but we will be the ones to end it," Ebrahim Zolfaqari, spokesperson for Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya central military headquarters, said on Monday in English at the end of a recorded video statement.

Iran and Israel traded another wave of air and missile strikes on Monday as the world braced for Tehran's response.

Trump's administration has repeatedly said that its aim is solely to destroy Iran's nuclear programme, not to open a wider war.

But in a social media post on Sunday, Trump openly spoke of toppling the hardline clerical rulers who have been Washington's principal foes in the Middle East since Iran's 1979 revolution.

"It’s not politically correct to use the term, 'Regime Change,' but if the current Iranian Regime is unable to MAKE IRAN GREAT AGAIN, why wouldn’t there be a Regime change??? MIGA!!!" he wrote.

Experts surveying commercial satellite imagery said it appeared that the U.S. attack had severely damaged the site of Iran's Fordow nuclear plant, built inside a mountain, and possibly destroyed it and the uranium-enriching centrifuges it housed, although there was no independent confirmation.

Trump called the strike a "Bullseye!!!"

"Monumental Damage was done to all Nuclear sites in Iran," he wrote. "The biggest damage took place far below ground level."

MORE ISRAELI STRIKES

Israel's airstrikes on Iran have met little resistance from Iranian defences since Israel launched its surprise attack on June 13, killing many of Iran's top commanders.

The Israeli military said on Monday that about 20 jets had conducted a wave of strikes against military targets in western Iran and Tehran overnight. In Kermanshah, in western Iran, missile and radar infrastructure was targeted, and in Tehran a surface-to-air missile launcher was struck, it said.

Iranian news agencies reported air defences had been activated in central Tehran districts, and Israeli air strikes had hit Parchin, the location of a military complex southeast of the capital.

Iran says more than 400 people have been killed in the Israeli attacks, mostly civilians, but has released few images of the damage since the initial days of the bombing. Tehran, a city of 10 million people, has largely emptied, with residents fleeing to the countryside to escape attacks.

Iran's retaliatory missile strikes on Israel have killed 24 people, all civilians, and injured hundreds, the first time a significant number of Iranian missiles have ever penetrated Israeli defences.

The Israeli military said a missile launched from Iran in the early hours of Monday had been intercepted by Israeli defences. Air raid sirens blared overnight in Tel Aviv and other parts of central Israel.

LIMITED RETALIATION

Beyond those missiles, Iran's ability to retaliate is far more limited than a few months ago, since Israel inflicted defeat on Iran's most feared regional proxy force, Hezbollah in Lebanon, whose downfall was swiftly followed by that of Iran's most powerful client ruler, Syria's Bashar al-Assad.

Iran's most effective threat to hurt the West would probably be to restrict global oil flows from the Gulf. Oil prices spiked on Monday at their highest since January. But they have not yet shot up to crisis levels, indicating that traders see a path out of the conflict that avoids serious disruption.

Brent crude futures were down 0.5% to $76.64 a barrel as of 0830 GMT, after briefly jumping above $80 at the opening.

Iran's parliament has approved a move to close the Strait of Hormuz that leads into the Gulf, which would require approval from the Supreme National Security Council, a body led by an appointee of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Attempting to strangle the strait could send global oil prices skyrocketing, derail the world economy and invite conflict with the U.S. Navy's massive Fifth Fleet that patrols the Gulf from its base in Bahrain.

"It's economic suicide for them if they do it. And we retain options to deal with that," U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said.

As Tehran weighed its options, Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi was expected to hold talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on Monday. The Kremlin has a strategic partnership with Iran, but also close links with Israel.

Speaking in Istanbul on Sunday, Araqchi said his country would consider all possible responses and there would be no return to diplomacy until it had retaliated. TASS news agency later quoted him as saying Iran and Russia were coordinating their positions.

What we know about US strikes on three Iranian nuclear sites

Iran is weighing its response to US strikes carried out against its nuclear sites at the weekend, which American officials say have significantly set back the prospect of Tehran building a nuclear weapon.

The strikes were launched as Israel and Iran continued to attack each other, after a long-simmering regional rivalry escalated into direct conflict earlier this month.

The impact and wider implications of the US strikes on Iran are still becoming clear. Here is what we know so far.

What has the US bombed, and what weapons did it use?
The operation - codenamed Midnight Hammer - involved 125 US military aircraft and targeted three nuclear facilities: Fordo, Natanz and Isfahan.

They were hit between 22:40 GMT and 23:05 GMT on Saturday (02:40-03:05 on Sunday Tehran time), the US said.

US Gen Dan Caine, chairman of the joint chiefs of staff, disclosed more details during a press conference. He said:

The aircraft took off from the US and made an 18-hour journey to Iran
Some jets were sent west into the Pacific as a "decoy", while others went ahead of the main bombers to ensure airspace was clear
Seven B-2 stealth bombers tasked with hitting the nuclear sites flew into Iran and avoided detection
At the same time, two dozen cruise missiles were launched at the Isfahan site from a submarine - in total, 75 "precision-guided weapons" were used during the operation.

Potential immediate threat of Iran strike on US airbase in Qatar, source tells 'Post'

Authorities issued a warning that US Central Command (CENTCOM)'s Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar is being targeted for an Iranian attack, The Jerusalem Post was told on Monday evening by a source familiar with the details.

Al Udeid Air Base is the largest US base in the Middle East, and serves as the forward headquarters for CENTCOM, accommodating approximately 10,000 troops.

Qatar said it has shut down airspace temporarily as part of measures taken amid developments in the region, a statement by the Qatari foreign ministry said on X.

This is a temporary closure for a few hours, and indicates the possibility that the Iranian attack could occur later this evening or tonight, the source told the Post.

It said the move comes to ensure safety of residents and visitors.

The shutdown of Qatari airspace comes as Iran repeated earlier threats to retaliate against the United States after strikes on its nuclear sites.

The US embassy in Qatar emailed US citizens in the Gulf country on Monday recommending that they shelter in place until further notice, triggering a slew of messages from various Doha-based institutions to employees and students while Qatar maintained the situation was stable.

The embassy's advice comes as Iran repeated earlier threats to retaliate against the United States after strikes on its nuclear sites.

The US embassy message noted that the recommendation was "out of an abundance of caution" and offered no further information.

Commenting on the message, Qatari foreign ministry spokesperson Majed Al Ansari said in a statement that the security situation in the country remained stable, adding that the embassy's advisory did not suggest any specific threat.

Iran-Israel conflict: Qatar temporarily suspends airspace, security remains stable

Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the country’s competent authorities have temporarily suspended all air traffic in its airspace to ensure the safety of citizens, residents, and visitors.

Earlier, the US and UK embassies in Qatar advised their citizens to shelter in place until further notice. Additionally, several schools in Qatar have been ordered to close on Tuesday.

Dr. Majed bin Mohammed Al Ansari, Advisor to the Prime Minister and spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, clarified that recent advisories issued by various foreign embassies advising their citizens to take precautions or avoid certain areas in Qatar are standard practice.

These advisories reflect general policies followed worldwide and do not necessarily indicate specific threats. Security Situation Stable, Authorities on Alert

In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Dr. Al Ansari confirmed that the country’s security situation remains stable. Relevant authorities are closely monitoring developments and are prepared to take necessary measures to protect everyone. He urged the public to rely only on official information sources.

The spokesperson emphasized Qatar’s ongoing diplomatic initiatives to de-escalate tensions in the region and uphold security by engaging with key regional and international partners.

US Embassy advises Americans to shelter in place

The US Embassy in Qatar urged American citizens to shelter in place “out of an abundance of caution” until further notice. It provided emergency contact numbers, including 999 for emergencies and 919 for domestic violence support. The embassy’s after-hours consular number is +974-4496-6000.

The United States maintains a Level 2 travel advisory for the UAE, advising Americans to “exercise increased caution” due to ongoing regional tensions. Despite this, US diplomatic missions in Abu Dhabi and Dubai remain fully operational.

Global caution over Middle East conflict

On Sunday, the US Department of State issued a worldwide caution urging increased vigilance following the Israel-Iran conflict, which has disrupted travel and caused periodic airspace closures. The alert warns of potential demonstrations against US interests abroad.

US and UK issue advisory

Following US strikes on Iranian nuclear sites, both the US and UK governments advised their citizens in Qatar to avoid public places. The US embassy reiterated the shelter-in-place recommendation, while UK Foreign Minister David Lammy echoed similar advice.

Qatar hosts key US military base

Qatar is home to Al Udeid Air Base, the largest US base in the region and headquarters of US Central Command in the Middle East, housing around 9,000 US service members. The country lies just across the Arabian Gulf from Iran.
