Wasn't she with some Norway-based "billionaire" earlier ?

Lol apparently he's a singer-actor too...

Hope he dint ruin your self-esteem

No, the US Embassy is the place where everyone is busy muttering prayers under their breath for that precious visa.

I met him a few weeks later too, when he and Salman Ahmed were flying to the US for a Junoon tour, and I was too, for a vacation.

I spotted Salman first, and went over to say hello. Say what you will about Salman, but he was very nice. He didn't just shake my hand, he got up to give me a hug, and not once during the conversation did he act irritated.

He signed the autograph, and then tossed the notebook on to a little table next to him. I was a little taken aback, and only then did I notice Ali Azmat. They were sitting facing different directions and it was obvious they weren't on speaking terms. Instead of handing the book to Ali, he chose to toss it.

Ali very reluctantly signed it, and gave me a really nasty look when I shook his hand.

Congrats to Veena, wish them a happy married life. Stop being mean people.

oh yes, i remember my recent visit to the US embassy, everyone is sitting their having that worried face.. One family came out from the visa desk, and their little daughter kept saying loudly, visa laggya visa laggya to her excitement, the family had to hush up the little one quickly...

Salman is also responsible for most of Junoons music. It was his style that made Junoon what it was.

True, except that towards the end he was out of ideas and Ali was more dynamic but couldn't influence the sound as much as he liked. Post-Junoon music from the two proved that to be the case. And Salman's insistence on singing was just cringeworthy.

The Rohail-Salman feud in Vital Signs was fascinating too. NFP wrote about it in great detail.

Haven't really read about that.

I feel like they were both running out of ideas or maybe.. they just didn't feel it anymore. They lost the tabla and "sufi-ism" from their music.

I always felt that Salman wasn't a horrible singer. He wasn't good but the amount of bashing he got for it in the media was a bit OTT I think.

But even with his average voice, I preferred Salmans Music to Ali's. Ali Azmats only good song was Na Re Na maybe

I felt Kalashinfolk was a terrific album. And he has a stellar band to back him up, which makes it great to listen to: Momo, Mannu and Gumby.

I haven't heard Salman since the "Alvida" fiasco. Seemed like he had bread stuffed down his throat.

I thought Ali Azmat said he had had enough of sufi rock and wanted to explore a little more while Salman wanted to stick to the same kind of songs .

Yes, he said so in Cell 224. Except that horrible last album, Deewar, wasn't Sufi rock, it was an electronica-rock hybrid. I don't know what they were smoking, to use an Americanism. It is well known that Ali Azmat loves coke (not the drink). I don't know what Salman's drug of choice is. Probably bhang from South Punjab shrines.

Education or upbringing seems to be the difference . What Salman Ahmed can say in a dignified manner , AA has to act like an **** to say it .

Possibly. Salman is a doctor and I believe he attended King Edwards and grew up in the US. But even Ali got a BBA from Australia. Maybe he also learnt how to sledge from the Aussies.

Salman's voice !!! God oh God. He sounded like that guy who recently got blasted by AA on Pak Idol, the one which he asked to sing nursery rhymes and do ka pahara. Both are actually full of themselves. Sad how they parted and how bitter they are about each other. They were rock gods and now one is a self styled Sufi wannabe Rock jihadist/ self promoting peace ambassador while the other enjoys ripping poor chaps on their singing and despite being the epitome of western lifestyle, loves promoting conspiracy theories about the capitalist west and their evil designs, all under the tutelage of one red capped lone warrior of Islam.

Good tune (and obviously awesome message), don't believe I hadn't heard this before

Pakistani actress Veena Malik got married to businessman, Asad Bashir Khan Khattak in Dubai on Wednesday (December 25), a media report said.

"I'm more than happy today; I think I'm the happiest girl in the world." Geo News quoted the actress.

Veena, who became a known name in India post her stint on the fourth season of reality show Bigg Boss, said it was an arranged marriage.

"Destiny just plays its part, we were destined to be there on this particular day." Veena said.

According to the report, the actress declined to divulge further details, saying, "You will just get to know the details very soon."

Asad Bashir, who runs businesses in Dubai and US, is the son of Veena's father's friend, the Geo report said.

Asad said their parents wanted them to get married as soon as possible. He added that wedding-related functions would be held in Dubai, US and Pakistan.

Hoping to get an invitation XD

Congratulations to Veena but i hope he wont stop her from doing the masala films in bollywood now onwards :55:

She's a bit dim and strange but good luck to her. Everyone deserves to be happy.

So I happened to see an interview of the newly wed couple on ARY. It was cringe worthy to say the least. So much fake emotions it could have been a skit for the Four Man Show. No wonder Veena never could become a famous actress. Felt bad for the father in law. Good old fashioned Pathan Uncle, took his son's recent marriage as "Allah ka karna". Apparently they both met at the US embassy in Islo and within 10 days of meeting got married. Now that's fast. I wasn't sure who latched on to who, seemed like both using eachother. Veena obviously happy someone asked her for marriage and that too from a loaded family. The guy seemed like he is using Veena to enter showbiz. Apparently, has been making songs and putting it on youtube, also does modelling "with friends" in Dubail. Now sure who hired him for that. Guy wants to look like Humayan Saeed for some reason, why would anyone want to look like Humayan Saeed is even more strange. In any case, it looked very fake.

Veena our very own kardashian :) Hope the union is not based on greed.

How could you fail to mention their wannabee American angrezi accent? The guy was looking so awkward shooting out angrezi. And the less said about that daramabaaz larki the better.

That's right, totally forgot about that. I'm not sure why these wannabe Americans think the more they roll and twist their tongue in their mouth while talking English, the more angreez they will sound. And the use of the word "baby" to address each other, nausea inducing.

Wannabe angrez :misbah_old

I was bored at work and thanks to your post, I searched their interview on YT and it would be suffice to say, half hour flew :waqar

The couple will be on Dunya TV in "Mazaaq Raat" show this week. Torture continues....

What wrong with you guys?why are u watching it if u don't like it?and then come here shamelessly and talk all trash about her and her husband.whatever she is doing with her life is none of your business.I thought that mostly females takes such cheap shots.you guys are no better than her.

If she publicize her life, then it IS the business of the media and people who subscribe to it :asif. NE-ways she is fun. However bad she is but she is a interesting character.

It would have been none of our business if she would have not given that interview on TV and behaved like that. I actually like her but stuff that she pulled in that interview was just too much to let it slide. Calling it as I see it. Veena ho ya koi aur. Please save the morality lesson for some other time. She is a public figure not some private person that no one is allowed to comment on her. Btw, despite all that, I still wish her the best in life and marriage.

Well said dude

I like Veena when she stays proud of what she is, showing the mirror to our society much to the chagrin of "Mufti Sahab!" and our mullah brigade and conventional media. What irks me is when she starts pretending like she is some neek perveen, Virgin Mary or some innocent little schoolgirl. I can understand at some level why she wants to act all pure now but come on!

Saadibaba,i have not seen her interview and neither i want to watch it too.but i have read what you guys are writing about her and her spouse.i am also calling these post as i see it.and i don't have any intention to teach morality lesson to anybody here.i am sure you will be also like that.

Too many stupid, talentless people in the news all over the world these days

She was really talented.

She was the best host Geo's Hum Saab Umeed sey hai ever had. That show use to be the only comedy show in Pakistan 10-15 years back.
After her, every host that came were bad, but she was very good.

Yes, because being a game show host is real talent.

Hosting talk shows isn't a real talent either.

yes it is.

A show depends on the host, it depends on him or her how to take the show forward, and to do what at what appropriate time.

Veena Malik is getting Khula now from her Husband...sad but what a circus it has become. Mufti Naeem now involved and is patching things up between them and having joint press conferences with them, lol....this is beyond ridiculous!
