Verdict on US Secretary of State Antony Blinken's visit to India

Prior to this visit there was a lot of excitement in Indian media, I heard the Quad's military cooperation would be discussed, China's role in the region would be discussed and the future of Afghanistan.

What I have heard is that India didn't get much out of this visit. Blinken went to India and meddled in their inernal affairs pointing out the human rights violations.

And Arnab Goswami started one of his shows the other day with asking: "Who the hell is Blinken?" He then went on to critisize America, they do this and that in their own country so why speak about India. Apparatnly Indians felt insulted by this, especially when Blinken said this on their own soil.

So to the indian posters here, can you please shed some light on this visit and if you are happy with this, or was this visit not important at all?

Whom did you hear it from? Blinken? Jaishankar? Modi? Biden? Who?

Dont think anyone invited pakistan to the talks.

Arnab Goswami is wrong. Blinken met few civil rights activists, a meeting approved by the MEA. Just like Modi meets a lot of people when he goes to another country.

whoever thinks decisions are made based upon these talks will be in a delusional world. The key factors are already decided by bureaucrats from each side. It's just a show to let out some of it.

yeah agreed lol.

What I meant was, both sides of bureaucrats makes their list and whatever issues they can agree upon, will let out on these shows and rest will be hide away from the public.

And then there will be those agendas to keep others happy whether there is any intention to implement or not. As you've said, it's the lip service.
