The Pakistani govt should expel all American diplomats from the country.

The Pakistani govt should expel all American diplomats from the country.

Ideally IK should do that considering he has accused them of something that huge.
But it’s not easy to boycott USA..

Boycotting USA or expelling diplomats will not sit well with the US. At the end of the day it is one of our biggest export markets (although soon to be relegated to number three after UK/EU and China)

This shows the mentality of many Pakistanis as if they are the center of the universe. My God lol.

US has already left the region . India has remained neutral too, where is the interference there. Indonesia has been neutral too, where is the interference then, israel has been neutral too. Where is the interference ? Saudis and Emiratis have been neutral too where is the interference ? Almost all of Africa and Asia has been neutral where is the interference

Imran khan is obsessed with USA. Biden didn’t even call him and is prob doesn’t even care about him now that us has left the region. The letter is a cable from a Pakistani who provided an observation that Imran khan has moved pakistan away from USA. How is that proof of foreign interference

This is the type of conspiracy theory of mindless republicans and trump saying they Biden lost and trump is still the president. This is the same drone mindset

If USA had this much control over Pakistani politicians why has it not done other things

IK and his supporters need to get their heads out of the sand and stop thinking they are the sun and world revolves around pakistan. This is getting embarrassing

Note galloways views on the pakistani army and generals in particular

This video is not from Imran Khan or from someone in his party. It is from a British politician who says that he was actually a Benazir supporter. So for Galloway to completely confirm what Imran Khan has been saying all along as the truth is really significant. Looks like Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Maryam Nawaz, Fazlur Rehman, MQM, the defectors and even General Bajwa have sold the country for money and/or power, quite shameful.

ISLAMABAD: US Assis*tant Secretary of State for Central and South Asia Donald Lu, who was recently named by Imran Khan as being the official who made threatening remarks about his regime in a letter, evaded the question when asked about the regime change in Pakistan.

The State Department official, who is currently visiting India, was interviewed by the Hindustan Times.

During the interview, on a question about his conversation with Pakistan’s ambassador in Washington, the interviewer asked: “Imran Khan seems to suggest that you had a conversation with the Pakistani ambassador in the US and told him that if Imran Khan survives the no-confidence motion, Pakistan is in trouble and the US wont forgive Pakistan. Any response?”

Donald Lu avoided direct reply and said: “We are following developments in Pakistan, and we respect and support Pakistan’s constitutional process and the rule of law.”

Asked whether he had such conversation, the US official skipped the question again, simply saying: “That’s all I have for you on that question.”

Separately, responding to a Dawn query about Imran Khan’s remarks regarding Mr Lu, a State Department spokesperson simply echoed the assistant secretary’s sentiments, saying: “There is absolutely no truth to that allegation.”

The US State Department has once again spurned Prime Minister Imran Khan’s allegations of toppling his government through a no-trust motion by funding the Opposition, Geo News reported.

On March 27, at a jalsa, the PM accused the US of interfering in Pakistan’s politics and plotting to oust his regime through a no-trust motion in the National Assembly.

As proof, the PM also brandished a ‘threat letter’ at a public gathering, saying that a foreign country has warned of dire consequences if he remains in power.

Following the Opposition's ruckus on the ‘threat letter’, the PM had called the National Security Committee (NSC) and presented the letter. To this, the NSC expressed concern and a demarche was issued to the US envoy in Pakistan.

Subsequently, based on this ‘threat letter’, the deputy speaker rejected the no-trust motion against the PM and President Arif Alvi dissolved the NA on the PM’s advice. However, this act turned into a deep constitutional crisis as the matter is in the Supreme Court now.

Earlier, the US State Department and White House categorically rejected PM’s allegations and said the US government has nothing to do with it.

Despite the earlier rejection, the US has once again refuted PM Imran Khan’s allegations over the US government involvement.

During a regular press briefing, US State Department spokesperson Ned Price rejected the allegation and said, “The US believes in democratic principle, not only in Pakistan but around the world.”

“There is no truth to the allegation as you heard from me last week, we support the peaceful upholding of constitutional democratic principle,” he added.

Ned Price further maintained that the US never supports one political party as it encourages broader principles.

“We do not support one political party over another, we support the broader principles, the principles of rule, of law, and equal justice under the law,” he said.

It must be the first time US is doing regime change by first informing the ambassador.

Only in a state bereft of facts and institutions, can stuff like this fly. And IK knows this will fly. Nobody can distinguish letter from a cable from minutes. Nobody is going to verify the minutes in line with diplomatic code. It's banana republic.

I think a lot of people are assuming this no confidence motion was initiated by the US. But I think it was brought about by Zardari he promised USA support but told that we are going to remove IK but the military might interfere so asked to put pressure on the military to not interfere and let them remove IK.
IK played it smartly and caught the whole lot of them and used it to gain back popular support. Now the support he has he is easily going to get 2/3 majority in a fair election. He already got electronic voting machine as well overseas voting approved. The other parties never had any real manifesto if they had all the horse trading has smashed it to smithereens in front of the public so they had no leg to stand apart from inflation/mehngai. Which IK smartly cut of with the 3 month mortarium on oil and gas prices. The way things have fallen in place I feel this whole plan was not something IK brought out of thin air but actually was well planned strategy.
The people that are asking for civilian supremacy should actually support IK instead of the Noora and Zardaris as he seems to have out maneuvered the political parties as well as the so called establishment. Ik now has the support of rank and file soldiers so it will be very hard to make a move against him by the part of the establishment that are against him or unhappy with him. But those civilian supremacy people seem less like anti army and more like anti Pakistan when they support the Zardaris, Noora and Diesel.
IK ko siasat nahin ati but he has out maneuvered the whole system even Supreme courts hands are tied and they can't do much to change what happened on Sun if they do then even they will be exposed as the part of the corrupt system.

:))

Some people, man!

Even USA has been admitting for decades that they do it (the regime changes) Khullam Khulla (openly).

But you have their brown skin stans (or should I say slaves) defending USA everywhere :))

What a sad existence, that of these slaves :yk

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Vice Chairman and former foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi stated on Tuesday that no country should be allowed to interfere in Pakistan's internal affairs.

Qureshi said Pakistan was a free and independent country and its decisions should be in accordance with the Constitution, law and the public's aspirations.

The former foreign minister said that the primary cause of anxiety in Pakistani society stems from external interference in internal affairs, adding that the National Security Committee (NSC) had reported foreign interference and deemed it inappropriate.

“At the direction of the NSC, we summoned a diplomat to the Foreign Office to issue a demarche,” Qureshi stated, confirming that the government had recorded the protest through the ambassador in Washington.

Qureshi’s remarks come after the ruling party accused the opposition of conspiring with a foreign country against Prime Minister Imran Khan, to oust him from office through a vote of no-confidence in the National Assembly.

Citing that the opposition had vested interests, the motion was dismissed by Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri on Sunday after which the National Assembly was dissolved by President Dr Arif Alvi.

The former FM claimed that Turkey, China and Russia had issued statements to the FO extending support for the PTI.

Read SC ignores PPP’s full court plea

“They want a better Pakistan,” Qureshi said while referring to the declaration issued by Turkey.

Qureshi alleged that the country is “suffering from hysteria” on account of the stock market’s crash reported a day ago.

Qureshi also accused the media of remaining silent on the matter, stating that some media channels were claiming that the communication was fake.

“India wants a soft government in Pakistan,” he said, adding that the neighbouring country was “disgusted” with a Pakistani government that defends its interests and adopts an independent foreign policy.

The former FM added that the PTI aims for good relations with India but will not tolerate the indiscretion against Kashmir.

“It is up to the people of Pakistan to decide whether they want to be governed by self-reliant, dignified leadership or whether they want to say yes with their eyes closed,” he added.

Punjab CM elections

He announced he was leaving for Lahore with the premier, accusing the opposition of ‘locking up’ dissenting PTI MPAs in a hotel on account of a lack of trust.

A day earlier, PTI workers besieged a hotel in Lahore where hundreds of PML-N MPAs and disgruntled lawmakers of the PTI were residing ahead of the election of the Punjab chief minister scheduled for tomorrow.

Read more Opp seeks electoral reforms before fresh polls

Charged workers tried to forcibly enter the hotel by removing the barriers at which point opposition lawmakers began to raise slogans against PM Imran.

MPAs Azma Bokhari, Salman Rafique and Raheela Khadim said the opposition could ‘teach a lesson’ to the PTI over its fascist tactics, but was observing restraint. “

Opposition parliamentarians claimed that their workers were ‘just one call away’ and that the PTI should not indulge in violence.

Later in the evening it was reported that a heavy police contingent managed to push the PTI workers away from the hotel premises and avert an imminent clash.

Leader of the Opposition in the Punjab Assembly Hamza Shehbaz, a nominee for the chief minister’s office, claimed that some 200 MPAs were present in the hotel when the PTI activists tried to barge in.

FM Qureshi condemned the opposition’s actions claiming the no-confidence motion was an unconstitutional step to change allegiances at the expense of money.

“A case is being heard before the Election Commission today in which the son of the Leader of the Opposition in the Senate Yousuf Raza Gilani is buying votes for his father,” he stated, claiming there was video evidence present.

The US has it's hands in many pockets, many countries and many blocs/organisations. It's pretty damning to your intellect if you're not aware of this in 2022.

Biden is a warhawk and part of the "old guard" in US Politics. No different to the neocons and establishment. He was NOT a popular choice for the Bernie Sanders and Cortez segment.

Ironically people like Trump are ideal for Pakistan.... And I feel dirty saying that considering how much of an evil and selfish of he is.... Yet that sums up US Foreign Policy and how dangerous they are.

Once again people are getting confused about the letter. It's not a letter. These are minutes of a meeting between the under secretary and the Pakistani ambassador. Now here's the crux.

Did the US threaten Pakistan? Or more importantly did they explicitly threaten regime change on Khan.
It seems the meeting was diplomatic and the "threat" was couched in diplomatic language. But it was enough to get alarm bells ringing everywhere.
Donald Lu has also confirmed the discussions in front of a senate Committee.

Also minutes were taken on both sides and these I presume are confirmed by both sides to avoid problems.

The document had been verified by the NSC which contains all four chiefs and others.

So either the NSC is full of dudoos and Donald Lu lied in front of the senate or the "letter" is genuine.

Finally how it has been used has been all about politics and political strategy. From where I'm sitting it seems Zardari and Co have used their old rule book of bribery and money.

I'll tell you guys a little story. A relative of mine was in the Army many years ago during Zia's martial law. He had a pretty important post and he tells us how Zardari would visit him with a briefcase of money back in those days. My relative detested him and never took the money but many did. Its the same tactic.

Khan knows this so needed a way to counter attack. So these diplomatic minutes turned up. Now I bet thisnisnt the first time the US have expressed a preference for a change. Hence why Khan and Co probably knew this was coming. Thus their strategy was prepared. Appeal to the nations innate desire for independence and hatred of the corrupt.and it has worked. To the extent the opposition isnlooking rudderless and clueless.

But Zardari will survive and at the same will Bury Nawaz sharief for ever. It was always a win win for him. They will talk to the PTI at some point and will finish the PML N..the biggest losersnwill be fazlu and showbaaz..that's my prediction.

Russia has lambasted "another attempt of shameless interference" by the United States in the internal affairs of Pakistan, adding that it sought to punish a "disobedient" Imran Khan.

In a statement, Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Maria Zakharova said Russia had noted that President Dr Arif Alvi dissolved the National Assembly on April 3 on the prime minister's advice as well as the events preceding it.

"Immediately after the announcement of the working visit of Imran Khan to Moscow on February 23-24 this year, the Americans and their Western associates began to exert rude pressure on the prime minister, demanding an ultimatum to cancel the trip," she said.

"When he nevertheless came to us, [Lu] called the Pakistani ambassador in Washington and demanded that the visit be immediately interrupted, which was also rejected," she stated.

"According to the Pakistani media, on March 7 this year, in a conversation with Pakistani Ambassador Asad Majid, a high-ranking American official (presumably the same Donald Lu) sharply condemned the balanced reaction of the Pakistani leadership to the events in Ukraine and made it clear that partnerships with the United States are possible only if Imran Khan is removed from power," Zakharova said.

The Russian official said that further development of the situation left no doubt that the US "decided to punish the 'disobedient' Imran Khan", noting how lawmakers from within the PTI switched sides to the opposition while the no-confidence vote was submitted to Parliament.

"This is another attempt of shameless US interference in the internal affairs of an independent state for its own selfish purposes. The above facts eloquently testify to this," Zakharova said.

"The [Pakistan] prime minister himself has repeatedly stated that the conspiracy against him was inspired and financed from abroad. We hope that Pakistani voters will be informed about these circumstances when they come to the elections, which should be held within 90 days after the dissolution of the National Assembly," she said.

The statement from Russia's foreign ministry comes after PM Imran named US Assis*tant Secretary of State for Central and South Asia Donald Lu as the official who made "threatening remarks" about his regime in a letter, which the premier had brandished during a public rally in Islamabad last month.

Last month, the National Security Committee, which includes all services chiefs, had decided to issue a "strong demarche" over the letter, terming it "blatant interference in the internal affairs of Pakistan".

Imran has alleged that the no-confidence motion against him is part of the "foreign conspiracy" to oust him from power.

However, the US State Department said claims of a US involvement in the no-trust move against Imran Khan were just allegations without any truth. In a recent interview, Donald Lu, the US diplomat who allegedly made the threat to Pakistan's ambassador, evaded the question when asked about the regime change in Pakistan.

Asked whether he had had such a conversation, the US official skipped the question again, simply saying: “That’s all I have for you on that question.”

On April 3, NA Deputy Speaker Qasim Khan Suri had thrown out the no-trust motion against Imran, declaring that “circumstances show there is a nexus between the no-confidence motion, foreign intervention and the activities of the state’s representatives deputed to Pakistan”.

Imran had visited Moscow in February on a two-day trip which focused primarily on energy cooperation. However, his visit raised eyebrows as it coincided with Russia's military onslaught of Ukraine.

At the time, the government said it had consulted all concerned quarters before going ahead with the trip, which had been scheduled months in advance.

During his trip, Imran had conveyed to Russian President Vladimir Putin that he regretted the situation developing between Russia and Ukraine, adding that Islamabad had hoped that military conflict could be averted through a diplomatic solution.

He had stressed that conflict was not in anyone’s interest and that developing countries were always hardest hit economically in case of conflict. “He underlined Pakistan’s belief that disputes should be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy," said a communiqué issued after a meeting between the two leaders.

Looks like Pakistan has walked right into the middle of Cold War between US and Russia.
The thing ironically Imran Khan wanted to avoid.

The US and Biden have not handled this well at all. The way they have managed Khan is atrocious. He is the most normal of politicians you can get in Pak. In Europe he would probably be a social democrat or centre left type politician or maybe even a moderate Christian democrat type. Biden should be making easy money here..he is getting some really crap advice or it's entirely deliberate knowing Bidens past..either way inching the US have dropped the ball big time here.

I think its quiet simple.
The US want corrupt leaders who they can buy and have control over. IK wants Pakistan to remain neutral and he can't be bought.

I’m never really sure how to take Mr Galloway. I find it intriguing that he is a PPP man. He seems to support a wide variety of causes across the political spectrum, does not conform to known stereotypes, and is unafraid of standing his ground in any debate. When he believes in something, or someone, he shows strong loyalty to the cause and argues his case passionately. One thing is for sure, he is a superior orator and of greater intellect than at least >95% of serving British MPs. An interesting character!

Lu also stuttered and then confirmed nor Biden or any senior US regime members ever sought to speak to Khan at any point, when he was asked in the committee why didn't the US seek to speak to Imran if they wanted him on their side, he had no answer.

He is an interesting character indeed.

At home he holds a myriad of conflicting views such as being an ardent socialist but still a monarchist, a supporter of Irish independence and unification but a unionist when it comes to Scotland, quasi racist at times yet genuinley supportive of multi cultural britiain.

I dont think that the queen grieved as much for Prince Philip as George did.

Theres a good interview with Owen Jones and GG where Owen asks how he can justify supporting the Tories.

George replies " when the facts change so does my opinion".

However one thing that his opinion has never changed on is his opposition to "regime change" by the Americans. No doubt he will attempt to leverage his support of IK to gain a seat in a Pakistani dominated constituency somewhere.

Good summary.

And yes he does know very well how to carefully manoeuvre events and influence people to his own advantage in order to advance his career, raise his profile and cement his position.

An effective politician.

Khan escaped the opposition's attempt to depose him as the National Assembly deputy speaker rejected a no-confidence motion against him, claiming it was a "foreign plot."

Addressing a meeting of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leaders after the National Assembly Deputy Speaker rejected the no-trust motion citing national security, he said that during the National Security Committee's meeting, the country's highest security body, it was also noted that a foreign interference in the country's internal politics was made via a no-confidence motion.

Following that, Khan claimed that Donald Lu, the top American official in charge of South Asia at the U.S. State Department, was implicated in the purported plot to destabilize his government.

Khan alleged that Lu threatened Pakistan's envoy to the U.S., Asad Majeed, that if Pakistan’s Prime Minister survived the no-trust vote in the National Assembly, there would be consequences.

He stated that minutes of a meeting between Pakistan's ambassador in the U.S. and U.S. officials were disclosed during the National Security Council meeting.

The AFP news agency quoted Khan as saying, "A plan was perpetrated outside Pakistan to interfere in internal politics of the country, and when the highest national security body acknowledged it, it became meaningless as to how many numbers the opposition had in the assembly."

According to him, the embassy authorities of the stated country were also in contact with the PTI members who had defected.

Khan called the no-confidence vote against him a "foreign conspiracy," and he thanked God that it was defeated.

Referring to his declaration earlier in the day, the prime minister stated that the opposition was in shock and didn't know what had happened to them.

In response to Khan's remarks, White House Director of Communications Kate Bedingfield dismissed claims that Washington was involved in the alleged conspiracy.

"That claim is completely false," Bedingfield told reporters.

However, in a recent video footage of Lu testifying in the U.S. Congress, he admits that he approached Pakistani officials as Pakistan abstained to vote against Russian aggression against Ukraine.

In the footage, Lu says, “Prime Minister Khan has recently visited Moscow, so, I think, we are trying to figure out how to engage specifically with the Prime Minister following that decision.”

Interestingly, Sri Lanka which also abstained from voting is now facing “financial crisis.” It all comes together when you put the pieces of the puzzle together. Lu approached the Sri Lankan ambassador in Washington over the phone at 6:00 a.m., trying to convince them to vote for the UN resolution condemning Russia.

Who is Lu?

Lu is a Foreign Service officer with over 30 years of experience in the U.S. government. From 2010 to 2013, he was the deputy head of mission in India.

As the Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia, Lu is the highest-ranking U.S. diplomat in the region. He is a former U.S. ambassador to Kyrgyzstan and Albania, and he has twice served at the U.S. embassy in New Delhi.

In September of last year, Lu was named assistant secretary of state for South and Central Asian affairs.

Losing its allies, Washington is seeking to punish “unfaithful” friends, but Pakistan will prevail. Washington’s oldschool tricks can’t fool the smart people of Pakistan.

Galloway is an opportunist who exploits hotbutton issues in the Muslim community for votes.

I've seen the dirty tricks he's pulled. He won the 2012 Bradford West by-election after a disgraceful campaign where he claimed his Muslim opponent drank and partied, and ran posters with slogans like "God knows who is a true Muslim and who isn't."

In the 2015 election, he sent agents out to Pakistan to get hold of his opponent's marriage certificate to claim she was lying about being forcibly married at 15. He was soundly thrashed after 3 years where he spent more time in TV studios than his constituency, which shows you the contempt the predominantly Muslim electorate had for him.

An excellent orator, and an even better self-publicist.

Fully agreed. Also, don't forget the way he's been defending Russia recently and the way he was defending China when everyone knows that they were responsible for the spread of COVID.

Unfortunately there's no bottom to the barrel of political discourse in Pakistan where libel laws are non-existent, allowing media to breathlessly air half-baked conspiracy theories on a daily basis.

Foreign conspiracy claims go back a long way. Fatima Jinnah was smeared as an Indian and American agent by the Ayub regime, apparently forgetting its economic successes were largely driven by American aid in return for doing their Cold War bidding. When Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto's government ran aground in the mid-70s, he used the anti-Americanism card to rally support. Zia's plane crash is attributed to a myriad of foreign agents from CIA, KGB, RAW, Mossad and KHAD.

The 1990s probably saw the lowest point with PML-N parading fake nudes of Benazir Bhutto amongst again, claims and counter-claims of foreign interference. Both parties today have conveniently forgotten this sorry episode.

Ironically, Imran himself was targeted when opponents claimed his ex-wife Jemima Goldsmith was a Jewish agent. So Imran's claims today are frankly no different from the prevailing political culture.

The proclivity for conspiracy theories are natural in a nation with low literacy rates, an unfiltered media that values clicks over facts, and especially when the Pakistani state has repeatedly lied to its own people and covers up the facts.

The Hamoodur Rahman report into the 1971 War was heavily redacted and never fully published. The inquiry into Zia's plane crash has never seen light of day. The crime scene where Benazir Bhutto was assassinated was instantly hosed down, with witnesses mysteriously disappearing.

Is it any wonder why Pakistanis then resort to using their own imagination to fill in the blanks ?

Not quite true . The labour opposition was a Pakistani clown who wanted to win votes by using the the race & religion card . Galloway then embarrassed him by calling out his hypocrisy.

Nobody will agree with Galloway on everything. However he is a voice that’s needed. Uk politics is full of low life , liars & war criminals. It’s not even a real democracy any longer , the elite control what happens .

Of course he’s spot on here , the Yanks tired a coup & failed miserably.

Since when has George Galloway been Pakistani? Nice attempt at distraction but an epic failure.

You appear to begrudge any support for Pakistan and particularly Imran Khan - and yes, the sun and world does revolve around Pakistan for Pakistanis and its citizens, expatriates, in the sense that we want the country to succeed, become an independent, neutral, non-Western-vassal nation, practising Islam the way the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and Early Muslims did.

If you find that hard to digest then examine your hatred of Pakistan and whether it is inherited from your forefathers. Let's be brothers and sisters in humanity, it is the only way to defeat dividers and rulers, warmongers and haters.

I am talking of gullible Pakistanis who fall for conspiracy theories so easily and at a drop of a pin

whats the proof of a coup. that Pakistani opposition which is corrupt got together to push for a no confidence motion? the proof is a letter which is sourced to a pakistani diplomatic who was talking to us diplomat on their opinions? thats proof? really? There is a serious lack of intelligence and awareness in this discussion. This is embarassing to think that the entire opposition is being controlled and shepharded by the "yanks". The ol' "Yahoodi Sazish" talk of maulvis in political form. Ive never been more embarrassed as a Pakistani thinking non-Maulvi folks would fall for such claptrap

Used to have a lot of time for him but he used the Palestinian issue as his thing. Got him a string of marriages too.

He's basically a snake oil salesman

:))

Some people, man!

Even USA has been admitting for decades that they do it (the regime changes) Khullam Khulla (openly).

But you have their brown skin stans (or should I say slaves) defending USA everywhere :))

What a sad existence, that of these slaves :yk

Watch first 10 minutes of this video:

The man (Orya Sahib) hates Democracy with a passion but his point is valid.

It's unrealistic to expect IK to behave much different than other politicians in Pakistan.

A basic study of American history will show you this is normal . They are constantly at work with regime change , sometimes even bombing people into democracy. Pakistan is nuclear so that’s not possible. China , Russia are also targets of regime change right now. But they don’t blatant open traitors who are supported by a large minority. It’s an official diplomatic cable as Yanks needed to show their anger after Imran visited Putin on the same day he invaded Ukraine . Mr Lu refused to deny it because he can’t .

Europe is paying nearly a billion a day to Russia , Pakistan has a right to do businesses too for its people .

Emotions won’t change reality . This could work out well for Pakistan if it’s puts a nail in the coffin of any corrupt politicians career. But Galloway was also correct in saying Yanks never give up . But doesn’t mean they will succeed . Time to accept the truth & chill out a bit

You know who the biggest haters of Ahmadis in Pakistan? The guy you wish to bring in to the govt - Fazlur Rahman. Please don't go there.

Excellent stuff.

What do you think of Galloway? Even if we disagree with him he sticks by his opinions.

I disagree with him on various issues but in this day & age we live in , it’s vitally important to have voices against differing from mainstream media , which is full of lies on every topic . There’s no real democracy anywhere, donors & elite forge the policies, always to the deterement of the people. Most MPs are actors not working for the people. George has also stood up for many people suffering , Palestinians , Iraqis & more . For this alone I respect him .

George Galloway is a career politician. He'll say things at the right place and the right time to stoke his primary target audience: the angry young Muslim vote - of which there is no shortage in Britain.

He ruined his career speaking against the Iraq war and supporting Palestine. So if he was like you say then he'd never done any of the above. Just bashing Israel in the UK is enough to say bye bye to any political aspirations above a basic MP level.

For years (and still to this day) he has managed to very cleverly straddle his own pathway of middle ground, which lies on a small plain to be found somewhere between rebellious backbench troublemaker and establishment-conscious career climber. He has done this through holding a number of views from different points on the political spectrum simultaneously.

Excellent stuff.

What do you think of Galloway? Even if we disagree with him he sticks by his opinions.

He stands by his principles in compelling fashion, meticulously completes his research in advance and he passionately argues a case, which makes him rousing and powerful when we agree with him and yet still a solid, interesting listen (who might occasionally make us think again) when we don’t.

Funny take and perhaps one that is made through reading forum posts only, on a site with Muslims, without knowing too much about his wider politics.

In his day he was a true firebrand politician that galvanised the white working class in Glasgow, and was elected on the basis of his class politics. At the time this may have been one of the whitest constituencies in the country

His audience is majority old school commies, left wingers but hate woke culture with a passion.

Recently he had a well publicised spat with a muslim member of the Scottish parliament where Galloway made racial remarks. Before this he was prominently pro brexit, sharing a stage with right wingers and is also pro assad....all of these positions are way out of step with mainstream Muslim opinions.

Yup. 4 out of 5 times he was elected was 99 percent white working class voters.

Economically on the left, and yet socially conservative with a traditional position on the family and a view towards reducing immigration numbers. A typical British white working class opinion bank.

That’s an absolute worst side to be on. Economically right and socially left works way better for countries, I have never seen anyone be the opposite, this is very interesting and yes easiest way to get votes.
