[VIDEO] ‘Trained’ German Shepherd dogs attack, injure child in Lahore, given Rs.2000 "compensation"

Pakistan might not be the biggest promoter of family park culture, but still, where there is green, families will go. A lot of people love going to these parks with their friendly and tame beasts, what we call pets.

However, a very disturbing story has emerged from Lahore. As per news received, a little child was mulled and attacked by ‘trained’ German shepherds dogs in a park in Lahore. The little child was a balloon seller, not older than 7-8 years.

A video has been going viral on social media which showcases the incident caught on camera. Two German shepherds can be seen in the video, lashing out and biting the little child who is wearing white clothes.

While the owners of the dogs try to control them, the dogs keep going for more blood. The incident took place in Lahore’s Iqbal Town family park, near Moon Market.

The child, who could barely move, kept crying in pain. Chants of ‘call 15’ which is the police helpline could be heard in the video, as other people present in the park saw the injustice. Later on, it was reported, that the owner of the dogs or the person responsible for them, was arrested.

The child was then taken to a hospital where he was stitched and given anti-rabies injections. Moreover, this incident goes on to prove that the poor can be targeted anywhere, any time, with zero consequences if there is no proof, like the video.

Since then, people have been calling on for accountability against the wealthy. Apart from that, when you have beautiful beasts with an aggressive nature, you should not let them into family parks. That’s the last place they should be in if they are known to not have children compatibility.

This incident is proof that a dog can be man’s best friend, but still not be perfect.

Why is the kid selling balloons for a living in the first place? Another matter.

But I hope these dog owners go in for a long time!

In Western countries in a such a situation the animal is immediately put down. No matter how much you love Tommy its life is not worth more than human life.

How did this happen here but not in that actress's case?

How did this happen here but not in that actress's case?

Because the ladies that attacked the actress were related to malik riaz.

Hes a billionaire. Has media, police, politicians in his pocket.

This dog owner is most likely a middle class person.

So the "training" was to injure a lil kid

He was the Pablo Escobar of Pak that's why

That's the best description of Malik Riaz I've heard so far. Escobar used to deal in cocaine and Riaz deals in plots and property. Heck our media even as the cajones to abuse the army (#colonel_ki_biwi) but did not have himmat to take on Riaz.

The guy is so rich he agreed to pay close to $4 billion in CASH to Supreme Court to settle a case. Yes dollar four BILLION. The total 3-year IMF program for the entire country of Pakistan is $6 billion :ishant

The dogs look great? What do you think?

Lol
I had written a long post but decided to delete it...

The video is not entirely clear.
There are definitely two dogs... the one that was biting the kid is unclear, couldn’t really tell the breed. The other one is 100pct pure pedigree GSD. However if you look at the dog, his tail is waging and he’s clearly in a playful, happy posture.

When my dog is on alert or “guard” mode, his tail is up and the hair on his back is standing up... so one thing is for sure, the dog we see could not have been the one that bit the child. He may have chased a child that is running away, it’s their nature to do that.. but like I said his posture is playful.

The handlers Should always take the responsibility, it is not the dogs fault when they attack. However as we know the handler can get a fine or serve a short jail term, but the dog almost always gets put down.

One thing our desi culture got right was putting the dogs to their rightful place. They are seen as a dirty animal whose place is out of the gate, not inside our homes, and calling someone a dog is a form of abuse. love for dogs is a western import, but there is a reason our cultures and religions ask us to keep a distance from these creatures.

Yep, the GS did not attack the child but shows up in the video. Looked like perhaps a staffy, bully type or some sort of mungeral. Shame the beautiful GS looks like the villian here.

Our? My religion does not, which are you reffering to? The Cat followers perhaps?

Don't want discussion to move to a tangent. You can check with scholars about their views on dogs.

Religion is not my thing so it wouldn’t stop me owning and loving dogs.

But I didn’t know dogs were not allowed in Islam and so googled it...

Behold,

Muhammad (PBUH) himself prayed in the presence of dogs and many of his cousins and companions, who were the first Muslims, owned dogs; the Mosque of the Prophet in Medina allowed dogs to frolic about in Muhammad's time and for several centuries afterwards.

I listened to the scholar Dr Zakir Naik who said dogs are fine if kept to guard your home or cattle, but not allowed inside homes as pets. Anyway, doesn't matter to me. My culture is clear about dogs, that they are filthy creatures, and their bite and as well as lick is harmful.

I was once like you too...

LAHORE: Punjab police on Wednesday confirmed they had arrested a man whose dog had allegedly attacked a boy selling toys in a family park in the city's Iqbal Town.

In a video that went viral on social media, the boy was seen in bloodied clothes after the attack near Lahore's Moon Market as people tried to help him while the owner of the dog tried to keep the canine away.

When some of the bystanders attempted to assist the little boy stand, he fell back down, crying out in pain.

"Balloon-selling boy becomes a victim of an elite's dog. Will there be a case against him? Will he be punished? Or will he, too, be handed a plot as a settlement," read the caption with the original video posted by Twitter user @RubinaBashir11.

The deputy inspector-general of police for operations in Lahore confirmed that a case has been filed and the accused arrested.

"[The] parents of the victim refused to proceed against the culprit but on directions of DIG Operations Lahore, FIR was registered with police as complainant," a tweet posted on police officer Rai Babar Saeed's account read.

In another tweet, Lahore's Dolphin Squad shared a picture of the boy after he was treated by doctors. The boy was seen raising a victory sign, surrounded by officers and sporting bandages on his legs and fingers.

Later, Child Protection & Welfare Bureau (CP&WB) Chairperson Sarah Ahmad commended the Lahore police as well as her focal persons "for looking into the matter, visiting the innocent boy who was attacked & offering them to bring the boy to our bureau".

Teen mauled by dog got Rs2,000 from owner

A 13-year-old boy injured by a dog in a park near Moon Market has been paid only Rs 2,000.

Muhammad Qasim, the elder brother of the victim, Azam, said on Saturday that they were paid Rs2,000 after the incident and asked to buy beef mince for him so that he could recover quickly.

People of the area said permission should not be given to take dogs into public parks and necessary steps should be taken to prevent such incidents in the future.
Only three days after Azam was injured, his elder brother Qasim reached the same park to earn money for his family.

While selling balloons in the park, Qasim told The Express Tribune that he was feeling sad on returning to the place where his younger brother was injured while doing the same work but he had to earn money for his family.

Qasim said both Azam and he sold balloons and after a day’s hard work they manage to earn up to Rs600. He said he expected the authorities to help his family after the incident.

On June 3, Azam, who was selling balloons in the family park near Moon Market, was severely injured by a dog. The dog’s owner was about to flee when Dolphin police arrested him.

According to the team’s in-charge Safdar, as soon as they received a phone call on number 15, they reached the park and arrested the owner of the dog and shifted the injured child to a hospital.

I see no details about what action has been taken against the owners.

They probably paid a backhander and got off with no action taken against them.

A decision by authorities in Dhaka to round up around 30,000 stray dogs and dump them outside the Bangladeshi capital city has caused outrage among animal rights activists.

Officials say the stray dog population has exploded since a sterilisation programme faltered, adding that residents increasingly complain they are not able to move around freely.

Street dogs are a common sight in Dhaka, with packs of the canines roaming freely and sleeping on pavements.

Many are fed scraps by dog lovers in restaurants and markets, and they scavenge from waste dumps and bins.

They also play a vital role in keeping the streets clean by driving away rats and other vermin, say animal rights campaigners.

However, Dhaka South City Corporation's spokesman Mohammad Abu Naser said they had become a menace.

"We're planning to relocate the stray dogs in Dhaka South to remote localities outside the capital," he told AFP.

He said the operation would start next month.

'Catastrophic'
The relocation plan has triggered outrage among animal lovers, who warn it could cause more problems than it fixes.

"The relocation of such a huge number of dogs will be catastrophic," said Naim Ibne Islam Adi, the head of Bangladesh's largest shelter for stray dogs and cats.

The relocation of such a huge number of dogs will be catastrophic.

"Hungry dogs will attack people. Human versus dog conflicts will rise."

Abu Naser defended the move, however, saying the dogs would be fed and taken care of despite being relocated to "remote" locations.

He did not detail what the feeding plans were.

Canine campaigner Adi said the coronavirus lockdown showed how strays could easily go hungry.

In one incident, a pack of hungry dogs killed two deer in a zoo, he said.

City authorities used to kill up to 20,000 strays a year to control their numbers, but a 2015 court order banned the culling and animal rights groups introduced a sterilisation programme.

Activists said they planned to file another court petition - this time to stop the relocation.

I despise these filthy animals! There is no such thing as a good dog, only takes a minute for any dog to become a wolf. Whoever called them "man's best friend" must be a total idiot. Want a pet then a cat, budgie , rabbit or goldfish do the job. Keep these filthy things out of your home.

Dog is such a vicious animal. I hate this animal so so much. This world would have been a better place without this filthy animal.

Yes immediately put down in the uk

And the owners wouldve been charged for failure to handle their dogs properly

They shouldve been on a lead not roaming free to attack anyone they see fit

I got attacked by dogs before although I wasn't injured. Owners saved me. LOL.

Dog can be quite vicious sometimes. It is why I love cats more.

Thousands of years of domestication has subdued its predatory instincts. At the core, they are still wolves. You just have to go outside early in the morning or late in the night and these dogs roam around in packs attacking anyone who pass by their way.

Dogs have their purpose in human civilization. But people treating them like family and allowing them to lick their faces and sleeping next to them is plain nasty.
