Day two of the first Test in the 2025‑26 Ashes saw its first major controversy when England’s Jamie Smith was adjudged caught behind after a lengthy review. With England struggling at 104‑6, Mitchell Starc’s short ball down the leg side sparked appeals from Travis Head and Alex Carey, initially turned down by umpire Nitin Menon. But after nearly five minutes of replays, TV umpire Sharfuddoula overturned the decision, leaving Smith out and England reeling at 104‑7 amid loud boos from the Perth crowd.

In any test where upto 40 wickets fall, you'll have a moment or two like this.

Hardly match changing. England cricketers need to focus on a good cricketing career over a career in the Sky commentary box, then they will get better.
