People have confirmed that about 12 such buses ended up in villages in Pakistan...

Looks like this was part of the London - Calcutta route which stopped in 70s.

Late 60s, early 70s?

Seems early 70s to me.

As i child I remember quite a few guys bringing cars by road to PK to our village in the mid 70s. The 1st car I sat in was one of these, at the age of 5, it seemed the best thing in the world.

Apparently driving from Middle East to UK used to be a done thing also - a lot of fun which no longer exists because of shortage of time

would love to take a road trip along there, unfortunatly the situation in ME doesnt allow it anymore, along with pakistan sky high tax and customs for your car.

Wow very interesting thanks for sharing.

Imagine driving from the UK to Pakistan without Google Maps and only some short instructions to guide you!

To be honest, with Dinosaurs like me, this is the only way I can drive :D

I know people who used to drive from London to Kabul.

These people are clearly on their way out but they love to reminisce about it...
