Pakistani fast bowler Ihsanullah has gone viral for exhibiting strange behavior, threatening to quit cricket for a bizarre reason.

The 22-year-old announced he was quitting cricket, citing a personal dispute with a teenage friend named Abdullah as the reason for his withdrawal. In a recent interview, Ihsanullah openly stated that he is not playing cricket because his young friend is upset with him.

This, combined with a series of bizarre videos posted online—some showing him attempting to cry—has sparked serious concern about his mental well-being.

Fans are urging the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Peshawar Zalmi to intervene and ensure Ihsanullah receives a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and appropriate treatment.

Mental health experts emphasize that such visible signs of distress should not be ignored, as timely intervention can prevent more serious consequences.

What the bloody hell is this nonsense? The journalist needs to be investigated too. Stuff like this doesn’t fly in the civilised world!

Is he really 22 years old? Looks more like early to mid 30s if I am being honest.

Ihsanullah addressed the controversy on social media—videos of him in tears, saying things like, “When that boy comes, I will play cricket.”

“I gave an interview earlier and spoke briefly about something personal. That young boy is my shagird—my student—and the bond between an ustad and shagird is like that of a father and son. Unfortunately, some people have twisted my words.”

“I’ve seen fake news spreading on Facebook, and someone has even created a fake ID in my name. So I request everyone: please stop sharing these false posts and videos. They’re damaging not only my image but also my cricketing career.”

“I am asking for forgiveness from my people, my followers. I am apologizing for my mistake. I am saying—do not share such videos. Kindly, do not defame me. Support me so I can make a comeback for Pakistan.”

Pakistani cricketers never cease to amaze, should be focusing on his own career and getting back to full fitness seeing that he is only 22 years old himself.

Must admit that there are unsavoury undertones to this whole thing. If I was PCB, I would be very reluctant to let him get back in cricketing circles especially around children. I think he is a big controversy waiting to happen.

The national team's fast bowler Ihsanullah has issued a clarification statement regarding an interview given a few days ago.

"The boy I talked about is my student; the relationship I have with him is like that of a teacher and student which is similar to that of a father and son. His elder brother is my good friend and is like brother, and he has also shown me the right path. I request all of you not to share such posts that could cause problems for my career."

Dude, this guy is 22? His hair is receding. 2-3 bade bacchon ka baap lagta hai.

If he's 22 then so am I.

Pak cricket and it's obsession with passing 40 year old uncles and 20 year old cricketers is disturbing.
:inti

I remember @Major saying Ihsanullah was rejected for a Qatari visa a few years ago.

Maybe there could've been an innocent bureaucratic reason but that was my first red flag with Ihsanullah, and now this.

He needs to sort his head out.

If this guy turns out to be a true, this is gonna look very bad on PCB and i think this will be the next biggest news after the 2010 trio fixing.

Issue is, this man was being billed as an u19 few years back. So sharing dressing room with u19 kids is a really low moment and PCB should be bashed for this.

I hope ICC also becomes strict with these fake ages saga.

Innocent until proven guilty... Did that kid said anything about something being wrong???
No

Ihsanullah gave his statement already... Untill someone has some proof saying alternate to that statement, there is nothing wrong here...

But yes, that was a pretty weird thing to say on social media when you are a national cricketer...
Pcb should hire a mental coach or someone relevant who can cure this disease

This guy acts quite immaturely, much like some of his counterparts from the same region. He constantly comes up with baseless reasons just to seek attention and stay in the spotlight.

First, he blamed the PCB for not taking care of him after his injury. Then, he accused some current Pakistan bowlers of deliberately sidelining him. And now this.

Honestly, I don't know what's wrong with him

He is messed up in the head like Zulqarnain. PCB needs to ban him from all forms of cricket for life.
Quite a convenient way of dealing with people isn't it? Particularly of the ones who showed promise as players.

I do wonder why you ascribe this idea of giving up or abandoning a person instead of helping them get better?

You can absolutely help those who are ready for help. But its not easy to help those who are Mr Knowitalls, but in truth are low IQ mentally unstable individuals.

What you cannot do is entrust your reputation with them.

Yes. He does seem to have child like mentality in him. Definitely has mental health problem and maybe trauma in his childhood.

Weird. Overaged guy with a "friend" who looks a legit. kid .

This guy is never going to anything in international cricket, elbow injury or otherwise .

Move on

Was Babar also innocent before proven guilty when he went back SSA’s back to reclaim the captaincy for himself?

@Rana look at the state of this ullu.

It’s not that I’m defending anybody. However we must remember that in a country like Pakistan many cricketers come from rural areas with very humble backgrounds often giving up education at an early stage just to play cricket day and night. They are very vulnerable and impressionable in their teenage years and can be catapulted with just a few good performances.

At a time when they need nurturing they enter a place where there is mass social media and too many outside influences that impair their growth and mental/moral development. It’s a real shame that PCB junior set up is quite lacking in some ways. But PCB can’t be everywhere. If you look at Shohaib akhtar, Mohammed amir , Asif, Wasim, Abbass they have had really humble beginnings. It’s a miracle they got as far as they did. They are bound to have one or two flaws.

Shoaib Akhtar and Harris Rauf were still much better off than the other guys you mentioned. Abbas (Gul’s nephew) isn’t too bad either.

I agree in terms of the ones who literally came from the pinds. They can easily lose their way when they become too rich too quick.

How is it acceptable for a grown man to make these weird, emotional statements about a kid? This is sickening behaviour even if it’s made out casually.

Pakistanis tend to have a habit of making casual peadophile remarks just like Indians like to refer to rape in casual conversation.

This is a serious social issue! It needs to be addressed and clamped out!

They can do that of course, but it seems like he is experiencing some mental health issues, so it would be beneficial for him to receive proper treatment from a psychologist as well.

They can and perhaps should support him financially (like a lifetime pension fund) but they should not let him play professionally because he can be a danger to those around him.

No wrong doing is proven. From what see somebody has made disgusting allegations and he’s come on social media to show he’s saddened and quitting

Not trauma. That quality i have seen in most of the people belonging to his region.
They act like a child and very masoom infront of others but in reality quite opposite

Yeah he’s a proper weirdo, so is Yasir Shah.
